Agreed. Tarver Must Go For A Knockout Against Roy. Tarver Is Soft Around The Midsection So Body Shots Take A Huge Toll. If Roy Goes To The Body He Can Make Easy Work Of Tarver And Take Him Out Early. I Believe Tarver Will Be Cocky And Go For The Knockout Setting Himself Up For An Early Knockout. Anyone That Thinks Roy Doesnt Have Power To Knock Tarver Out Has To Be Kidding Themselves. But I Think Roy Will Win This Fight By K.o Within 7 Rounds.
It's a good accomplishment, but it's a discgrace to compare that to Bob Fitsimmonz..
Bob Fitsimmonz defeated the #1 heavyweight champion in the world...
Jones could've fought the best in Lennox Lewis...but he chose John Ruiz...
It was obvious that Lennox Lewis was the #1 heavyweight in the world..
I mean come on...
If people had this kind of chances, this record would have been broken SO long ago...
HERE WE GO AGAIN TRYING TO DISCREDIT THE ACCOMPLISHMENT. AS I REMEMBER WHEN ROY WAS MOVING UP TO FIGHT RUIZ MOSTLY EVERYONE SAID ROY WOULD LOSE THAT FIGHT. MANY PICKED HIM TO GET KNOCKED OUT. THE REASON ROY MOVED UP TO FIGHT RUIZ IS BECAUSE SOME FIGHTS HE WAS TRYING TO GET FELL THROUGH LIKE HOPKINS. SO TO TRY TO DISCREDIT HIS ACCOMPLISHMENT IS FUNNY TO ME. ALL OF THE SAME PEOPLE THAT ARE SAYING THAT RUIZ WASNT THE REAL CHAMPION ARE THE SAME ONES THAT PROBABLY SAID ROY WOULD LOSE TO HIM. ROY WAS OUTWEIGHED BY 30 LBS. NOT ONLY DID HE BEAT RUIZ IT WASNT EVEN A CONTEST. SO IF ROY WOULD HAVE FOUGHT LL THEN SOMEONE WOULD OF FOUND AN EXCUSE THEN TOO. WHAT ROY DID SHOULD GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS A GREAT ALL TIME MOMENT IN BOXING. MORE IS EXPECTED FROM ROY THAN ANY OTHER BOXING IN THE HISTORY OF THE SPORT. THAT TELLS ME ONE THING AND THAT IS THAT HE IS AN ALL TIME GREAT.
Roy At His Best Is One Of The Best Lets Be Realistic. Stop Bringing Up These Coulda Shoulda And Woulda. It History. Roy Beat James Toney Flat Out And Why Hasnt Toney Tried To Get A Rematch??? James Toney At His Best Still Would Lose To Roy Jones Jr At His Best.
Tarver Is Beatable We All Know This. On Oct 1 You Will See Why. Roy Will Defeat Tarver Once Again And This Time More Convincingly. I Wont Say Roy Will Knock Tarver Out But He Will Hurt Him Often. Tarver Is Soft Around The Midsection As We Saw In Jones/tarver I. If Roy Puts In Body Work To His Midsection I Believe He Can Stop Tarver Within The First 6 Rounds.
I Think It Shoulda Been Done After Each Knockout And Especially The One With Glen Johnson. Why Now All Of A Sudden They Wanna Throw This Out Into The Public's Eye??? After Any Knockout Where Someone Is Knocked Out They Should Take Precautionary Measures.
Tarver isnt kicking Shyt. Yeah he had 1 Lucky Punch. Yeah it was a Lucky Punch when your eyes are closed while throwing it that mean luck right???? This Fight will be a RJ 6th Round KO
Strategy In Boxing Is Hit And Not Be Hit. If You Calling Roy A Pussy For Getting In And Getting Out Of The Way Of Punches The I Would Call That Smart Wouldnt U???? Dont Make Stupid Comments. Hit And Not Be Hit Is The Key. Floyd Isnt Even Close To Where Roy Was Now Is He?? So Lets Be Real Stop All The Hatred On Here For Roy.
Roy Jones Jr Before Fighting Glen Kelly When He Was Arguing With Larry Merchant And Bernard Hopkins."60/40 And Get Your Ass Whipped" Is What Roy Said To Bernard. Loved When He Said That.
Roy Is No Different Than Any Other Fighter. It Takes Two To Tango. You Cant Put All This On Roy. Its Alot Of Politics In Boxing. No Matter What He Is Still One Of The Greatest To Ever Lace Up A Set Of Gloves.
Each fighter is affected differently. First off Roy body was mostly muscle. Hardly no fat on his body. Everyone wants to say steriods this steriods that. Whatever just trying to talk about one of the greatest fighters i have ever seen. The weight loss is a major factor and you could see that in Jones/Tarver I. Jones/TarverII just was caught with a perfectly timed and executed punch. As far as Jones/Johnson it was a simple fact of mental block from his last fight. Scared to throw punches and Roy just basicly doubting himself. On Oct 1st be ready to see boxing 101-The Sweetest Science by the instructor Roy Jones Jr.
What funny to me is a man dominated 3 Divisions & then beat the Heavyweight Champ who at that point hadnt been beaten since Tua knocked him out but all everyone can say is how he is a fraud after he gets knocked out late in his career. Everyone talks about what fights he coulda and shoulda taken. But what about those people he was suppose to fight why didnt they make more of an effort to get those fights???? It takes 2 to tango. As far as I'm concerned yes his legacy is tanished by his last two knockout defeats but let be real it came at the end of a stellar career. Roy is still one of the greats whether you want to realize it or not.
I'm definitely a Rj Jr fan. I believe this fight i think RJ will win by either by Unanimous Decision. I dont think there will be a knockout. If Roy has his Stamina it will be no contest. Keep the fight in the Middle of the Ring he wins easily. But if he goes back to letting others have target practice on him by relaxing on the ropes then he will be pummeled again. I for one believe Roy Jones Jr on Oct 1 will reclaim his throne.
Do U Know When Roy Started Losing The Weight??? No You Dont. Did Roy Start The 8 Mnths Prior To The Fight Or Was It More Like Weeks Leading Up To The Fight??? Wouldnt That Make A Big Difference? Arent We Talking About 18lbs Of Muscle Not Fat So It Does Make A Big Difference. Roy Didnt Take The First Fight That Seriously Lets Be Honest With That. Roy Overlooked Tarver And It Showed.
I Agree. If Roy Would Box And Not Really Exchange Mike Had No Chance. For Mike To Do Damage He Has To Get Close Whereas Roy Could Fight From Outside. Rj By Dq Or Late Tko.
Well Hopkins Wont Beat Taylor. Hopkins Is Going To Lose. If Hopkins Fights The Early Rounds Like He Fought The Last Four In The First Match He Will Get Knocked The F*** Out Cuz He Cant Take Taylors Power. Thats Why He Waited So Long To Turn Shyt Up. But Hopkins And Roy Will Never Fight Again. In My Opinion I Think Roy Should Take All Rematches From Here On Out. Hopkins, toney & Johnson.
