BoxingScene.com: No fighter would know better than you, since you fought both of them and beat both of them. In your opinion, who do you think is going to win Tarver-Jones 3?
Glen Johnson: I have Jones to win that fight, I give him a small edge. Jones has a lot to prove right now and he is going to take this fight extremely serious. If you take a look at the two fights between Jones and Antonio Tarver, Roy Jones won most of the rounds in those fights. You know that unless there is a knockout, you have to go with Roy Jones as the favorite to win a decision. Antonio Tarver don't win rounds against Roy Jones.
BoxingScene.com: Because of the back to back knockout losses which Roy Jones suffered against you and Antonio Tarver, some experts suggest that Roy may have a suspect chin. Do you think there is any truth to that theory?
Glen Johnson: I would like to think that Jones is no different than everybody else. There are a lot of people that get knocked out and come back from it. Lennox Lewis got knocked out a few times and came back to dominate the division. So I don't think he does.
i have the same opinion on the matter. i don't think tarver can win the fight unless it's by KO. plus i truely believe jones will be more than focused for the fight.
People forget what a year 2003 was for Roy Jones. First he moves up, fights a heavyweight and makes history then he moves back down and wins the light heavy weight title back. Thats impressive...
Plus another thing is that Lt. Heavyweight to Heavyweights is 25 pounds maybe not coming up but coming down is exactly 25 pounds! You have to be on par so I am sure he was a bit drained as he had to make correct weight. That is like Erik Morales moving up to 160...Put it into that perspective and see how the drum beats then....

hmm
We found that RJJ really has a lot of heart in that 1st fight with Tarver. However, it may have been his last great performance. I hope not. I was thrilled when he beat Ruiz, for me that was big and it helped his resume as 50% picked against him. But, RJJ would really help himself a lot with a win vs Tarver, his true and only rival. He has a lot to gain here.
Indeed he did. It was up for grabs for a while, but Roy sucked it up and won the last few rounds. Gotta be blind to say otherwise.
Which is what seperates the champions from the contenders.
No offense....
but this whole"Roy will win" thing has become a big joke..
IF HE WINS I AM GOING TO TALK TO YOU GREATEST...IS THAT COOL!!!WE WILL HAVE NICE CHAT ABOUT THE FIGHT IF ROY WINS OKAY!!!!!
Jones won the 1st fight by 2-3 rounds

Roy Jones fans are annoying but they are no more annoying than Tyson or Marciano fans.
Tarver already beat Jones 2 times.

Explain your logic?
Roy is cautious and goes into defense mode for 4-5 rounds and let Tarver punch himself out and then as the fight goes into the second half and be more active. Roy will have his energy conserved and when Tarver gets tired Roy steps it up.
Roy can use his defense and pot shot Tarver for the first few rounds and still win half of them. It is in the late part of the fight that is crucial. Tarver WONT be able to hang with Jones late. Mind you Tarver fatigues to easy and he isnt an active fighter like Johnson was.
Agreed. Tarver Must Go For A Knockout Against Roy. Tarver Is Soft Around The Midsection So Body Shots Take A Huge Toll. If Roy Goes To The Body He Can Make Easy Work Of Tarver And Take Him Out Early. I Believe Tarver Will Be Cocky And Go For The Knockout Setting Himself Up For An Early Knockout. Anyone That Thinks Roy Doesnt Have Power To Knock Tarver Out Has To Be Kidding Themselves. But I Think Roy Will Win This Fight By K.o Within 7 Rounds.
