both guys wer outstanding. n im tlaking bout b4 RJJs fights with tarver, cuz that waas near the end of his time.
i would have to go with PBF
cuz hes taking out everyone easily... but so did RJJ mmm....
close but i jus gotta go with PBF
In His Prime Antonio Tarver Would Have Gotten His Ass Kick By Jones, They Were Schedule To Fight, But Tarver Lost To Eric Harden, Who Had Kick Tarver Ass. Jones Then Went To Fight Eric Harden Who He Had A Little Problem With Him, But Soon Was Making Short Work Of Him, Until Harden Gave Up On A Shoulder Injuried Cause By Jones Right Hand To The Shoulder. Jones Ruled Boxing In His Era, His Only Mistake That I Say He Did Was Going To Heavyweight, And Then Droping Back Down To Lightheavy To Face Tarver, His Body Was Never The Same And He Has Not Be The Same Since The First Tarver Fight, Which I Truly Also Believe He Won. I Pray That He Destroy Tarver In Their Upcoming Match On Oct 1
I Guess You Didn't See Jones And Reggie Miller, Becuz Jones Knock Him Down In The First With A Single Right Hand, Then Follow Up In The Third Round With The Sickes One Two Combo That Lay Reggie Miller Out, He Bearly Got Up, When He Was Then Save By The Bell. Jones Then Played With Him Through The Rest Of The Fight, And Up Until They Fought Reggie Johnson Was Never Knock Down In His Career Until The First Round With Jones. I Have Jones Whole Career On Dvd, And I Tell You, He Truly Was The Most Gifted Boxer Beside Ali And Tyson And Other. No One Could Stand A Chance Against Roy In His Prime When He Was Rj
JUYJUY
You couldn't be anymore tranparent with your wounded crying.
Do you ever shut up?
What is it that 90% of your posting is outright CRYING.
It's obvious how threatened you are by Jones' greatness, and the shadow that it casted on your favorite fighters.
If you're not responding with 9 consecutive posts in somone eles thread, you're going out of your way to create a new one to cry in where you're just spouting the same nonsene.
Jones Jr was a better fighter than Benn Eubank and Collins combined, and 95% of fans would LAUGH at you and your continued spiteful bitching about it (becasue you're so insecure).
Do everyone a favor, create www.ilovebenn&eubank.com and have the entire forum to yourself.
That way you can SHUT THE FUCK UP for a while.
Strategy In Boxing Is Hit And Not Be Hit. If You Calling Roy A Pussy For Getting In And Getting Out Of The Way Of Punches The I Would Call That Smart Wouldnt U???? Dont Make Stupid Comments. Hit And Not Be Hit Is The Key. Floyd Isnt Even Close To Where Roy Was Now Is He?? So Lets Be Real Stop All The Hatred On Here For Roy.
jones just threw punches and hoped he didnt get hit back. throw a combo and jump away: fucking pussy ass bullshit, roy.
Umm, I'd hate to break it to you, but that is perfect style/technique. That's pretty much what you want to do, not get hit, throw quick combos and use your speed/footwork to make sure you don't get countered.
Wow.
Anyways, Floyd is in his prime now. You can't compare them yet, but it looks like Floyd is well on his way to being top P4P for a long time to come.
mayweather.
he fights the other fighters fight and wins. he outboxes them, and outslugs them whenever they get tired or pissed.
jones just threw punches and hoped he didnt get hit back. throw a combo and jump away: fucking pussy ass bullshit, roy.
Floyd is still in his prime and he will go down as the better fighter when it's all said and done.
Unless he gets knocked out in his mid 30s. Then the boxing crowd will suddenly think he was never any good all along. The boxing crowd seems to be like that, for some reason.
Benn's time was come and gone. Roy gets as much or more credit for beating Hops, so no, beating Benn wouldn't have "cemented" him. Hell, what made Benn a mandatory for Jones? You can look at things and say they are excuses all you want but it you can't say Jones ducked Benn any more than Benn ducked Jones.
Benn was never ducked. Stop crying already. Only ppl who wanted Roy to lose and foolishly thought Benn would have beaten Jones think that Roy dcuked him. If you ever dream that Benn beat Jones, you better wake up an apologize.
BTW, I notice something about you JUYJUY, as dumb as you are...you never can seem to respond to a thread without bringing it back to your jealousy of RJJ. Are you homo or secretly wanting to poison Roy? Strange...
Another brain-washed fool
hmm

While Roy was in his prime he rarely lost A ROUND!
Floyd in his prime was clearly beaten by Castillo in their first fight.
dont say stupid things, floyd wasnt beaten, dont be an idiot.
Floyd is in his prime right now, and he is looking to the future, his prime is not even close to over
Some of my favourite fighters were Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, Michael Nunn and Gerald McClellan, and any of them would of given Jones Jr his toughest test by miles.
whose sum of those fighters? u wer saying he ducked ppl can u say who.. not tryrna be mean, jus wana know ur opinion
The number one Middleweight's while Roy Jones was at that weight were Julian Jackson and Gerald McClellan, Roy Jones was never number one at Middleweight. Roy Jones didn't fight Jackson or McClellan, he was too scared plain and simple.
Roy Jones was Nigel Benn's mandatory contender early in 1993 at 168, Benn was WBC champ, but Jones Jr figured out that Benn would be too tough so he dropped back to down to 160 to avoid Benn who was up for the fight with Jones, he dropped back down to 160 despite being a mandatory contender for a WBC title! If that isn't avoiding somebody then I don't know what is!
Before fighting Toney, Jones Jr wasn't ranked near the top 10 lb4lb, Toney was #1 lb4lb and Jones Jr was a big underdog. But just six weeks before the Jones Jr fight, Toney was weighing 220lbs! He had to get down to 168! So Toney was extremely dehydrated and a shadow of his former self against Jones Jr due to starving himself, ofcourse Jones Jr managed to pick up the win.. but it wasn't Toney near his best so the win counts for nothing because Jones Jr refused to give Toney a re-match years and years and years. And after beating the current #1 lb4lb in Toney, Jones Jr jumped all the way into the #1 lb4lb spot undeservedly and stayed there for 10 years - very undeservedly. Jones Jr defended his IBF 168 title five times, three of which weren't even ranked in the top 10 at 168 at the time and another was just a 'blown-up' Lightweight, the first time that Jones Jr ever fought a mandatory contender was his very last fight as a 160-168 fighter against Bryant Brannon (Bryant who?). Roy Jones avoided fellow top five World Champions Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, Steve Collins and Frankie Liles because he was scared, they all called Jones Jr out and tried to make the fight but Jones Jr was plain and simple too scared to take risks.
After defeating 40-year-old Mike McCallum (who would of taken Jones apart in his prime 7-8 years earlier) Roy Jones was AWARDED the WBC 175 belt, and proceeded to defend the belt against mediocre opposition for six years before jumping to Heavyweight and taking on the worst of the Heavyweight champs (Ruiz), but what people forget is that Dariusz Michalczewski was the Lineal Champion at 175 NOT Roy Jones, Dariusz Michalczewski was the RING Magazine champion at 175 NOT Roy Jones, Roy Jones defeated Virgil Hill at 175 but it was Michalczewski who was the first man to defeat Hill in Hill's previous fight NOT Roy Jones. Michael Nunn was often Jones' mandatory in the mid-to-late 90's but Jones Jr was too scared to fight him and risk losing.
He fooled all of you by never fighting the best, and you fell for it, believing that he was 'invincible' because he was beating washed up nobodies or green bums with his superior reflexes making up for his so many technical flaws, and you didn't know none the wiser.
Tough question. I'm gonna go with Floyd, which surprises me actually.
Roy was simply amazing in his prime, but Floyd is a boxing prodigy. The kid was born and bread to fight. Not only does he beat his opponents, he damages them mentally. He's a guy that once he's done with you, he leaves no doubt who the better fighter is.
I mean, Gatti is one tough son of a bitch. But do you think for a second that Gatti would ever set foot in the ring with him again?
Yeah, he was so much better than Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Carlos Monzon, Salvador Sanchez, Thomas Hearns, Marvin Hagler, Michael Spinks, Mike Tyson (85-88), Evander Holyfield, Pernell Whitaker, Oscar De La Hoya etc wasn't he? Get real.
IMO he was better than DLH, holyfield,
but monzon and sanchez r VERY underrated IMO.......
but i mean skill wise, publicity, and popularity i guess he was as good since ali
Get it right, Jones avoided several of my favourite fighters. If he had beaten several of my favourite fighters I'd be a Roy Jones nut-hugger!
whose sum of those fighters? u wer saying he ducked ppl can u say who.. not tryrna be mean, jus wana know ur opinion
Roy Jones jr. right now because he was one of the top p4p fighters for almost 10 years, while Floyd has been p4p material for about 4 or 5 years. :boxing:
ahhh good point... i didn't think of that
I'd go with Roy Jones, you have to admit bigger fighters should get more cerdit than the smaller ones, cause they can kick the little ones ass.
that makes no sence... were not talking about them fighting each other....
Pound 4 Pound, in their division
Yeah, he was so much better than Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Carlos Monzon, Salvador Sanchez, Thomas Hearns, Marvin Hagler, Michael Spinks, Mike Tyson (85-88), Evander Holyfield, Pernell Whitaker, Oscar De La Hoya etc wasn't he? Get real.
glad to see u agree...
