Oh, I see where I was wrong now. Thanks to your GIF of Larry David yawning, I now think GGG will win. It seems so obvious when you put it like that.
Gees, I can understand why people don't like Golovkin fanboys.
I see you have a problem with reading comprehension again Ward is a Light Heavy why does he want to fight a Middleweight when you have Kovalev who's his own weight as I can see your one of those dumb dumb's
Using Kovalev as reason as to why this fight shouldn't happen is a complete ***** move, and you know it. You clearly think GGG will lose.
Ward will play it on the inside, smother GGG's work and make it dirty, ultimately out pointing him. Murray took 3G 11(?) rounds, albeit through running and clinching. Ward however will take him the distance and win. I see neither guy knocking the other out; Ward lacks power to hurt Golovkin but he's to intelligent to get hurt himself.
And yes, GGG is easy to hit. Lemieux has poor accuracy anyway, normally connecting around 13% of jabs. He connected 18% on this fight. As you can see his overall connect % is just above what he scored against Golovkin.
*EDIT* to further add I don't see this fight happening. Ward will most likely move up and I think GGG is reluctant to move up himself.
If Ward was as great as he thinks he would fight in his own weight division. A guy who wins the Light Heavy Weight Gold Medal drops to 168 than fights at catch weights 172. Now ask yourself why probably insecurity about winning at 175
If Golovkin was willing to take on "anyone from 154 to 168" he wouldn't ask for a catch weight of 164 just for Ward.
Before he said he wasn't motivated to fight Degale after the big win over Groves but assuming Degale beats Bute then he would've beaten two common opponents back-to-back and then Froch may have the motivation to come back after a good break. Degale vs Groves 2 probably won't happen next summer since Groves lost but I have a feeling Froch will come back for one more big fight, at Wembley against Degale.
Thoughts?
He would've earned a huge payday if he had fought Golovkin, yet couldn't find the motivation to fight. He also has an estimated net worth of $20 million. I don't think we'll see him make a comeback.
Thurman might not be "A" class yet but he's far from a joke. He has an interesting personality, that along with his talent and heart will get him far in this sport.
Replace "talent" with "Al" and "heart" with "Haymon", then you have the reason he goes far.
And he is irritating. He tries too hard to be smart and it doesn't come off too well.
Respectfully,do you watch the sport outside of the big names?
Too many posters judge the sport based solely on what is going on at the very top. You can't just look at the "1%" to judge the sport.
Been some really good fights this year, Huck lost, matts/provo, wilder/stivernne.
I think maybe you should check out some smaller cards and you will be pleased.
In general, I do prefer watching the smaller fights and I agree there have been the few good ones.
However, the "1%" are the ones who carry the reputation of the sport and they just haven't lived up to expectations. Part of that could be the standards set by fans are too high (I mean May-Pac was never going to live up to the hype, and too many people let their emotions get in the way of rational thinking), the other part could be down to cherry picking/aging or just laziness.
I'm interested in hearing other people's view of how the year went.
Low blows? that'S a terrible reach, I didn't see anything low in the fight except the one Berto landed right on the cup!
When fighters are in close and u put ur arms up to protect urself but ur opponent still somethers himself into it and holds u behind the back with one hand and tries to hit u on the top of the head with the other one, this is not a thrown elbow, that's using ur forearm as a guard, an elbow is a foul when it' THROWN with intention of connecting and doing damage, not by using it as protection.
Dude, Floyd's a dirty fighter. Don't try an act like he isn't. He shoves his elbow into his opponents face/ throat in order to shove them back. You cannot push in boxing and you certainly cannot push your elbow into someone's throat in boxing to push them away.
I don't like Floyd but thought it was a decent night of boxing to be fair.
Stuff I enjoyed:
Berto putting in some effort
Berto, having quite clearly lost, still congratulated Floyd and didn't ***** about a rematch
Jack vs Groves
Stuff I found irritating:
Mayweathers daughter
Mayweather pretty close to a stoppage but choosing to run the last 10+ seconds of the fight.
That thing he did at the end where he fell to the floor
Bayless having a go at Berto but not at Floyd for elbows, low blows etc.
Groves being a ***** and running out the ring.
Groves not working on his stamina
Yea, those comments were disappointing at the time, so I dont blame folks for saying that Froch ducked Degale. Thats how it goes.
But the truth is that Calzaghe owed Froch nothing, so Froch made his own way..... just like how Froch owes Degale nothing, and Degale must now make his own way.
Before he became old and disinterested, I dont think there is a man weighing 168 who Froch wouldn't fight.
Did I say Froch ducked Degale?
Did anyone say Froch ducked Degale?
Yea, he plastered Bute in 5..... and he knocked out Groves twice.
Yeah, I know. They're his favourite topics of conversation, along with Andre Ward being boring and Joe Calzaghe being scared of him.
I disagree. Sparring isn't a joke. Now, do I think it means a whole lot? Absolutely not. I just sparred 8 rounds this am. I wasn't In there to get hit if I didn't have to. This is the way every fighter thinks. Floyd is going to dominate an inferior opponent. And if he is so great, he should KO Berto. PERIOD. But he won't. Why? Because he has no killer instinct.
I don't get your argument....
Every element of training should be taken seriously. However Floyd was just showing off for the cameras. He's the p4p#1 , coming to an end with his camp and was toying with lesser sparring partners. There's nothing wrong with showboating a little for the media.
Boxing is just a sport at the end of the day and not the be all and end all. I think too many people get hung up on the whole spartan/ warrior lifestyle thing they forget to enjoy it.
*opponent misses* "****?" *jabs opponent* "now that's a jab"
The first guy wasn't up to much but the 2nd seemed to put in some good work. Good to see him practising running at 1:40 :joke:
For those of you who think Floyd is "playing" around, or that it's just "sparring". You all don't know anything about boxing or preparation. Boxing is NOT A GAME. Sparring is NOT A GAME. Period. You work on things but it's definitely REAL. Yet you same idiots are the ones claiming that Khan handled Manny in those sparring sessions. Smh. But Floyd is just playing though. OKAY.
He was fooling around; you don't need to be so serious about it.
