Former world champion Antonio Margarito (38-8, 27KOs), 37-years-old, is back in training and looking ahead to a planned ring return at either junior middleweight or middleweight. He was walking around at 175 in June and seems to have shaved off some of those pounds.

He tried to return to the ring a year later, in a rematch with Miguel Cotto, and the injured eye began to swell up within a few rounds and forced the ringside physician to pull him from the fight in the ninth round.

After 46 months of being away, Margarito is ready for one final run and he looks very slim and trim in camp. Margarito had his right eye evaluated by a specialist and it was given the green light.

He has his old trainer, Robert Garcia, on board. And his last promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, is backing his comeback ambitions. At this point Margarito is waiting for a date and an opponent.

"[Middleweight and junior middleweight] are by far the most interesting divisions. Right now I'm up to 175 pounds. I need to get down to 154 pounds or stay at 160 pounds. Obviously I'd like to go against the elite, with anyone...Cotto, Canelo, those who say they are the best. I feel good in all aspects," Margarito told ESPN Deportes back in June.
