Keef kinda sloppy in his last fight
Fundora streak will continue
:boxing:
nobody is beating fundora 154-160
he just keeps improving
go harvard
:boxing:
paul should be in the hall of fame.
he has wins over the only people he lost to.
paul beat plaster margarito when nobody wanted to fight him.
has a win over prime sergio martinez.
And he beat a hall of famer in winky wright.
the recent inductions are so disappointing.
at the very least, hatton has a hall of fame scalp in kostya tszyu, but even then his induction is kinda iffy.
corrales meanwhile has no wins over other hall of famers.
ever since gatti inducted for entertainment purposes, everyone all of a suddent can enter if they displayed "entertainment skills" in their career
Bud turned Spence into a bum
I dont remember the names of Inoue's opponents in the last 3 years, felt like he's been fighting cans
oh and usyk beat joshua twice and fury twice
that's really up to his promoter, mr eddie hearn.
last i heard, eddie wasn't willing to budge on a $300K pricepoint difference to make a norman fight happen
eddie overpaid an unknown eurobum who has no fans in america
because of that, eddie doesnt have enough funds to match that same payday to an exciting american champion with a fanbase in america
what a horrible promoter.
overpays europoors
underpays american excellence
Yeah
Pacquiao's legs makes the difference between him being a good fighter to a legendary fighter.
Without legs, he's not even decent as a welterweight. He needs to go to 140 if he wants to win a world title without legs.
I just don't see any keys to victory for him. The keys are all rusted. There's no other outcome than Pacquiao getting ragdolled by Barrios.
But PBC is praying really hard Pacquiao gets this in the bag because they are setting up a Tank fight.
All their financials are f#cked
I never understood why The Ring had Spence in the top 10 P4P rankings for the longest time (2017-2024) but they never had Thurman in the P4P rankings when they both nearly had the same record.
I found out that even the smallest differences in their record could be the difference between being a top 10 P4P fighter.
Their only difference is that Thurman did not fight Brook and Mikey.
The Ring put Spence in the top 10 P4P for beating a damaged Brook (after fighting GGG) and they kept him in the top 10 for beating another P4P fighter, lightweight Mikey.
Spence has like 1-2 good wins over Thurman and i'm talking about Blown Up Mikey Garcia level of win. If Spence gets in, so is Keith. Keith was at least competjtive against ATG Pacquaio, while Spence got demolished by Crawford. They have pretty similar resume, imo.
Porter already in the ballot, and Danny will get into the ballot once he is eligible, but i doubt they would get voted to HOF. Time will tell. We had worse names there already and Americans always gets more points than any country because IBHOF is amercan based, they prioritize US fighters.
If spencerina is hof so is Keith. Keith whooped danny and porter easier and better than spencerina years before. Spencerinas claim to fame is decisioning a fat mickey garcia
Spence is not HOF. Like I said, they must meet both my 1 and 2 criteria. Both 1 and 2 must be met because it's a way of confirming their accomplishments and not a mere fluke or some clever matchmaking going on. Sure Spence was in the p4p rankings for a good stretch (2017-2024) but he has no marquee win (a win against a hall of famer or potential hall of famer)
Mikey is not HOF. He was in the p4p rankings (2017-2019) but lacking any win against a hall of famer.
Had he fought and won against Lomachenko, that would've sealed him into the HOF guaranteed.
Obviously there's no stopping other voters from voting Shawn Porter in for "entertainment" reasons but that's them and not me.
Porter was never in the p4p rankings and has no win over a hall of famer.
Danny has 2 wins over a hall of famer in Morales, but lost to every one of his peers, thereby unable to sustain or confirm his accomplishments and ultimately failed to get in the p4p rankings.
Who knows how fighters are voted in these days. Corrales got in despite having no win against a hall of famer.
Interestingly enough, Hatton and Bradley both met my 1 and 2 criteria despite people groaning about their induction.
Hatton beat a hall of famer in Tszyu. Hatton was also in the p4p rankings (2005-2009).
Bradley beat hall of famers in Marquez and Pacquiao (yes ik it's a robbery but the win over Marquez cemented his place). Bradley was also in the p4p rankings (2010-2016).
they've probably studied barrios for almost a year now
manny looks ok in his recent training footages
that's all fine and dandy
the question will be
can he pull the trigger on fight night?
:boxing:
He's lucky his weightclass lacks any p4p fighters. Nakatani is the only p4p fighter within proximity of his weightclass and they won't be fighting until next year.
When's the last time he fought a p4p fighter?
Fulton? He was never in the p4p rankings.
Donaire?
Last I check, Donaire was not in the p4p rankings when they fought.
The last time Donaire was in the p4p rankings was in 2013. Inoue fought him in 2019.
Donaire was 6 years removed from the p4p rankings by then.
He's gonna be in trouble soon because he walks around at 140 but cuts to 122.
He's not getting any younger.
Not a boxer. But a scummy promoter like Eddie Hearn is ticking me off. Dude is a walking red flag. I can't explain it.
Feeds welterweights like Brook and Benn to middleweights.
Also, rumors of him sleeping with his female fighters is just unprofessional.
The fair outcome should've been a no contest.
Seeing the replay and how the cut happened,
The ideal result would be a TKO victory for Suarez.
Those commentators gaslighting us when everyone can see the replay.
The commission being afraid/scared of the home crowd.
It's a recipe for a blatant robbery.
WOW
WOW
WOW
Marquez turned down a rematch with Pacquiao then fought Chris John in Indonesia and lost.
Marquez turned down a pacquiao fight AND a morales fight THEN fought chris john and lost.
This really disappointed me because this would've completed the set of and made them the new Four Kings had morales and marquez fought. That would've been a total of 14 fights against one another, exceeding the 9 fights of the original Four Kings.
Spence is definitely not a HOF. You gotta be kidding. Even TC said no way.
And Fury wasnt in the P4P when he fought Usyk.
Let’s not use the double standard.
Resume-wise Inoue is at the top 3.
Spence is definitely not first ballot
But like I said, he'll eventually get in
There are fighters inducted that are undeserving but get in due to their prolonged stay in the p4p rankings (Hatton, Corrales, etc.)
I dont know much about Fury as I dont like him.
But Inoue hasn't fought a p4p fighter.
Donaire was last in the p4p rankings in 2013.
6 years removed when Inoue fought him.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Ring_pound_for_pound_rankings
Fury was in the p4p in 2021.
Usyk fought him in 2024.
About 3 years removed.
Which makes Usyk's case a little bit better i guess?
And Fury was undefeated whereas Donaire got slept and schooled already by Walters and Rigo.
my criteria for HOF is:
1. they would have to have at least one win over a hall of famer
2. they would have to be in the ring p4p rankings over a certain amount of time
errol spence passes the number 2 criteria but not 1
keith thurman does not meet either criteria
danny garcia passes the number 1 criteria but not 2
shawn porter does not meet either criteria
What should I tell you? Usyk is N.1. p4p, but he beat 0 p4p fighters, because his divisions all suck.
So I would say Inoue can be p4p N.1.
Usyk beat Fury.
And Usyk and Crawford have never even fought a HOF.
Whats your point?
I'm talking about p4p fighters not HOF.
I think Fury was in the p4p rankings circa around 2021 and he beat a hall of famer in Klitschko.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List...pound_rankings
Spence has been in the p4p rankings from 2017-2024 so I think eventually he'll get inducted into HOF.
PBC died when Thurman, Errol, and the Charlos faked too many injuries and cancelled so many fights. This destroyed the deals with CBS, Fox, Amazon, etc.
The knockouts stopped because he stopped asking for catchweights.
The last catchweight was with Marquez because Marquez demanded it.
He just pretty much reached his peak weight at welterweight.
It's not like his power disappeared.
He keeps dropping fighters at welterweight even after getting knocked out by Marquez.
Algieri, Bradley, Vargas, Matthysse, Thurman
With the exception of Provodnikov (the only reason Bradley got dropped in this because he chose to be st00pid and exchange for all 12 rounds), only other fighter to drop him at welterweight is Manny.
Nobody at welterweight managed to be able to hurt and drop Thurman. Not Danny and not Porter.
BS. I think Floyd was older and Pac refused to fight him earlier because he was afraid of "needles", his tattoos were done with "laser"
chronological age is a less reliable measurement of aging in boxing compared to biological age.
Wilfred Benitez was already a shot fighter at age 25 after facing five hall of famers.
Floyd is older in a chronological sense but Pacquiao has more wear and tear in his body.
Pac also never tested positive in any of his fights including his latest one.
then again manny was 40.5 years old when he beat Keith
and 46.5 years old when he drew with Mario
manny was 36 and had more left in the tank when Floyd 10-2’d him
Manny peaked in 2010.
Every year after that was a substantial decline from his peak.
sure he still has something left in the tank but the amount left is not the same as the full tank in 2010.
floyd never fought the full version.
Leonard at least beat Duran before he got slept by Hearns.
Floyd fought the one the Manny that got KO'd already.
sure theres still some crumbs of glory for beating duran after hearns.
duran still has tank left especially beating barkley.
but you're getting little to no credit for that.
thats not peak duran.
not peak manny.
also the scorecards were 116-112.
floyd almost drew with a guy with one arm
You can nitpick every fighter's resume
Aside from Canelo, what other hall of famers did Bud beat? Spence is not first ballot. Porter will be lucky if he gets in.
He beat Porter who was one foot already in retirement.
Spence after a car crash.
Canelo who got no knockouts in 5 years and already lost his aura after Bivol.
Less than 2% of the adult male population is under 120lbs, so the talent pool where Inoue fights is very limited. Yes, Inoue is a “4 division champion”, but those “divisions” are separated by like 3lbs. He’s only moved up a total of maybe 12-14lbs his whole career. Crawford moved up more than that in one fight.
Inoue gets dropped all the time and his biggest name win was 40 year old shot Donaire who broke his eye socket and he went life and death their first fight.
The average adult female weighs more than Inoue FFS. There are literally women who could pick him up and beat his ass.
my wife is a weightlifter, she can snatch 120 no problem
anything below lightweight or welterweight is not a serious weight class
not many people watch it
a vast majority of viewers weigh at least 160
they just dont see themselves watch fights smaller than them
fyi
inoue is a good fighter
but he has been carefully matched his whole life
not much risks
Resume? Floyd
blow for blow, skill for skill? Crawford
and it's not even close
crawford is way craftier
floyd wouldn't even fight his wba mandatory, thurman
