Katsidis is a class act.
The fact he never complained about the stoppage shows what a true gentleman he is. A real, fair dinkum bloke. Even though he came up short, he won a lot of fans today.
It was always going to be a tough ask for Mick, especially after the tragic death of his brother a few weeks ago.
Stathi would've been proud of you mate. Legend!
Looks like orange powerade.
After he drinks it, he asks for "water". My guess is that he asks for water to wash the taste of powerade out of his mouth. You get a nasty aftertaste otherwise, especially when your mouth is dry during a workout.
The worst outcome other then the one you posted would be where Billy Dibs hits the guy on the ground and knocked him out and the ref comes in and awards the fight to Dibs
Billy Dib is a grub. This fight was later ruled as a NC. (@3.45sec)
there was one fight, where this samoan guy went nuts, he ko'd the guy, and why the guy was laying on the floor, he kind of got down on his knees and kept punching the allready unconcious guy.
Solomon Haumono v Royce Sio was it? (2.15)
LOOK EVERYONE. Please read carefully. Everyone keeps talking about Pacman's chin, and how its suspect because he got knocked out twice. They dont know what the **** they talking about. He got KO'd by BODY SHOTS. LAST TIME I CHECKED THE CHIN IS NOT NEAR THE STOMACH. :pat:
Have you seen Pacquiao crumple like a sack of potatoes when he gets chin checked?
Manny Pacquiao is a fkn idiot for paying the sanctioning feeds to keep that belt... f*ck that belt, when the hell will he ever defend that piece of shit anyways
I think Bob Arum payed the fee for him...
"I don't even know his job, i think he's just there to kiss Manny's ass."
~Roach on 24/7 talking about Koncz.
Anybody got any info on when Koncz first entered Manny's camp?
While some might argue about the current situation on Pac-Mayweather fight, a lot of people are also blinded by the way that the mayweathers team wanted to control the negotiations.
First off, 8oz gloves, ring size, and 147 weight are standard rules for their fight.
I see no problems there. Both teams would want certain things in their favour so as to cater to their advantage. Pacquaio would prefer the fight to be at 145 and Mayweather would prefer a larger ring. It's why it is called negotiation. This has all been sorted however.
Part of the negotiation was that Pacman wanted $10m for every pound Mayweather exceeds to. Which I might say that the price value is absurd but understandable. The case which will make it valid is the fact that Mayweather Jr. did not follow his last fight's 144 agreement with Marquez.
I agree the price is absurd, but as somebody mentioned already the point is moot. Although Floyd reniged on his 144 deal limit with Marquez he still only weighed 146. Mayweather makes 147 no problems whatsoever.
With this, let me give you some facts.
1. Pacquiao had history with the same situation
I've read in some articles that blood was taken from Manny 48 hours before the Morales 1 fight. He was quoted saying that it did affect him a lot.
Did it affect him a lot? Or was that just an excuse because he lost the fight?
4. Olympic style testing
They may test pacs blood during camp BUT does it really matter?
How can it help him on training? So now pac needs to pump up during camp to stay superhuman?
His blood will be taken right after the fight for tests. IS this not enough?
It depends on whether Pacquiao is doping or not. If he is, then the time and place he would dope would be during training. This is why random testing would be needed. If Pacquaio knows in advance when the drug testers would be taking samples, he would have ample time to allow any drugs to flush from his system.
Taking blood after a fight may not show up any drugs that he may have taken during training camp in the previous weeks. So no, this is not enough.
I mean, come on man. If you think of this logically, you will understand.
If you were in the same situation and have urine and blood tests just right after the fight. Would you even risk and still take enhancement drugs which will definitely nullify your legacy?
Certain types of PEDs can be eliminated from the body within a very short period of time. If Manny were to take these during training camp then there would be minimal chance they would show up in a drugs test several weeks later.
Manny, if he were doping (and I'm not suggesting that he is) could show up on fight night, have the tests taken and know that there was zero chance of being caught. His 'legacy' would remain intact.
If we have the urine and blood tests right after the fight, what is the point of using performance enhancement drugs during training camp?
See above point.
My take? I guess we are witnessing the greatest and the most perfect duck in history of the sport.
I doubt it, I think both teams are playing mind games. Floyd is trying to paint Manny as a cheat and undermine him in the public eye. Manny does not want to lose face by accepting Mayweathers demands. Simple.
Just wondering who would Danny Green need to fight/defend his title against to be a more respected fighter world wide.
Not speaking about other current champions cos that may be some time off before anyone puts title against title, so close after the Jones fight.
Despite having the IBO cruiser title, Green is a natural 175 pounder. Even though he starched Roy in the first round, it's hard to tell exactly where he is at.
Any of the following would be a good test for Green:
Glen Johnson
Antonio Tarver
Zsolt Erdei
Tavoris Cloud
Hugo Hernan Garay - he was Green's WBA mandatory when he retired in 2008?
Mundine @175
I think Hopkins and Dawson are beyond him.
Vic moved 1 division above and was not his usual destructive self. It yet again proved how hard it is to move up in weight and be the same fighter
I fail to see how Vic Darchinyan losing in his Bantamweight debut gives credence to the accomplishments of Pacquiao. Your logic is severely misplaced.
Manny has been able to move up in weight rather easily because he has been growing from a boy into a man. The guy started boxing when he was still a teenager.
I'm not saying Pac isn't a fantastic fighter, he is, and the deserving P4P champ. His career should be seen for what it is though: A young boy of 16 rising through the weight classes as he grows to become a champion at 140. He is now 30 years old and fully grown.
You do realise that Vic himself moved up a division from 112-115 pounds. Was he the same fighter? No, he was a better fighter. There are dozens of examples where a fighter can move up in weight and be more than competitive. Pac is not the only one.
I was disappointed although not entirely suprised with the decision and I wasn't rooting for either fighter to win. Froch was very lucky to get away with the decision, make no mistake.
I had Dirrell up by 2 rounds at the end, that included scoring the first round 10-10.
Dirrell knew that 'technically' he had done enough for the win, but also knew that convincing the judges the same would be tough. Hence his concern prior to the announcement.
The words of Dirrell's corner at the start of the 12th were all too prophetic: "you gotta stop him, they ain't gonna give you the decision here".
That's just boxing I hear you say. Yeah, but it still sucks.
Depends what the weather is like here. Fight is on at 1pm AEST, so the hottest part of the day. If it's really warm, I'll probably drink a crisp lager like Tooheys Extra Dry.
If it's a little cooler, I'll drink James Squire - Golden Ale. It never fails to tickle the palate.
