i dont make excuses for wladimir when he lost to sanders. he lost cause he was stupid and got caught up with some chick. but, that is not really an excuse. it contributed to him losing. and he let the problem influence him. and, also by taking the opponent lightly - which you should never do, especially with a hard-as-f#ck hitting guy who had nothing to lose.
so, saying lewis was out of shape has no bearing on how well lewis performed because his shape was included as part of his training. i dont buy into that as an excuse as to why vitali looked as good as he did outboxing the champ.
vitali was facing a much lower ranked fighter btw. so, had they both trained for eachother, only imaginations can calculate the outcome.

....Lewis was in tip top shape according to Emmanuel Steward. All the talk about Lewis being unprepared and out of shape is utter nonsense.
......Foreman would stalk him all night long but I'm just not sure he catches him. Lewis fought the biggest punchers of his era and made it out alive. Morrison, Tyson, Tua, Ruddock, Bruno, Tucker, McCall, Mercer. A prime Foreman was sloppy. The late comeback foreman was much more tactical and under control with his punches.
Surely his PR isn't that good because he's a coward and a fraud who gives a terrible deal to David Haye and he has a history of pulling out of fights. That's not even talking about quitting in them either.

...Vitali is nearly unbeatable. Injury stoppage is the only chance anyone, except maybe Wlad, would ever have to beat him. If he doesn't get a fluke injury, he dominates. Still, one of these days age may catch up to him in the ring.
Vitali would always find it difficult against Lewis. Especially prime Lewis. The whole 'up on the cards' thing is academic as his face was practically a slab of raw meat whilst Lewis's was pretty much unscathed. The ref says "Protect yourself at all times" for a reason ...
.....I still say the really nasty cut was caused by Lewis tape hanging off his glove and causing a slice that started it all. If not for the cut Lennox was going to get thumped.
