Again, this movie is about Duran's life, not his rivalry with SRL. Leonard's role will be minimal at most so it really doesn't matter who is playing it.
Exactly! They could have gotten Don Cheadle if it was more about Leonard but im thinking all they need is someone capable of doing a decent SRL during fight scenes. Usher seems very capable of impersonating Leonard's boxing style. I dont think hell have to do much outside fightscenes and maybe a bit of the press conferences.
Its a great move. Orlandito is way better than he showed against Darchinian. Hes a smart kid and a hard worker. Im pretty sure he will dedicicate himself to getting better.
Nacho can do wonders with a smart fighter. On the marketing side its an exellent move. Hes got a NY fan base, PR fan base and hopefully he will earn some mexican fans as well.
yup the future looks promising. I like the team puerto rico concept a lot. Hopefully they keep building it up and keeping them busy. Del Valle Dulorme Pedraza and Seda look like the real deal and might end up having great carreers.
Arum shouldof let Juanma fight Caballero. If he had beat Caballero or even lost the way he lost to Salido it would have added to his star power.
Now his stock and confidence got hurt. Lopez-Gamboa will never be what it could have been.
I heard it will be taped and then showed on the MSG channel. Im hoping to catch a stream or anything cuz it will be a good card. It has Shawn George's first fight after his win over Byrd.
Heres a video of Del Valle btw
notable size diference between Del Valle and Martin. They are both high quality prospects. I expect Del Valle to be too strong and active for Martin. Cant wait!! :boxing:
I so glad Del Valle finally got a shot at the spotlight. The kid has been a crowd pleaser since his amateur days but has been flying under the radar during his pro career not getting much attention from the local press. Hopefully hes earned a spot in every top rican prospects conversations from now on.
Barrera-Hamed, Marquez-Maquiao showed you dont need equal speed to beat one of those speed freaks.
Cotto gave up against Pac after he got dropped bad and found himself stranded with no back up plan. His confdence level for this one seems to be peaking.
I dont know man, conditons couldnt be better for an upset here. Floyd has out of ring worries, Cotto is at peace for the first time in years. Cotto wont have to starve Floyd will be the heaviest hes been since the DLH fight where he didnt exactly looked invincible against an injury prone DLH.
Anyway dont listen to me cuz when it comes to my countrymen ive been looking like a fool recently
Evander just wants to fight a Klitschko so he can borrow cash from everyone and bet on Klitschko by KO so he can take a nice dive and make some cash, same as James Toney.
K2 should troll them by saying winner of Evander vs James Toney fight will get a title shot and see the lulz that will come out after when you say you were joking.
He would need to bet like $10,000 on a Klitshko KO to win $1
I dont know if Ramirez gambles or not but i dont like him that much. A couple of years ago a program was started here were a convict could go out and fight professionaly.
The first one was Waldemar Adorno a convicted murderer. He got a lot of press attention and had hopes of making it on the pro ranks. The whole idea was depending on Waldemar's sucsess and there was a lot of people opossed to the plan. Most said, if you let a pro boxer go out to box why not let a convicted barber go out and work too, also that as a murderer he did not deserve so much praises and attention etc.
Anyway Ramirez was the ref and ended the whole thing with a first round stoppage so quick that made me sick. Couldnt help to think he let his own opinions about the program into the fight and took matters in his own hands. It killed the momentum and it will never be the same. If Waldemar had been fed up a tomato can and went on to a decent run im pretty sure many lives would have changed in prisson.
Hes still a free agent and only hooks up with a company for 1 fight deals. Good thing hes never been one to badmouth anyone is that he leaves open doors whenever he leaves. If a Canelo fight came up as a good business move hed go back to GBP for that date and so on.
Theres no doubt abut whos the biggest draw between Zab and Bradley. Regardless of how many losses he has Zab is allways a sneaky countershot away from being relevant and hes just done it again at 140.
50/50 would be fine specially if Bradley is a no show. Definitelly better zab than Morales or Maidana.
I hate that this fight is taking place. Barrera has gone nuts and right now hes got so many things going against him. If hes 50% of what he used to be he will school Kahn but a 50% Barrera unable to train properly due to a cut that might open up during the fight is more like a 40%
Thats not good enough to beat a very good olimpian with Freddy Roach in his corner :(
Kahn wins it on points, Barrera wont be able to land much.
Eversince his pro debut i knew he was going to have to take the Beransa test at some point. Hes well known in Puerto Rico having beat several local prospects including olimpian Velazquez. Hes gone the distance with Johnny Gonzalez, Vazquez jr, Jonathan Oquendo, Rigondeaux (TD), and lots of serious punchers. No shame in going the distance with the guy but if the stoppage comes it would be a statement indeed. Hopefully 2012 starts with a bang and is the breakout year!
Ide like to think Juanma has a good shot at winning but im pretty sure not even Juanma believes that. Hes said making 126 is too tuff, cant see how facing a strong 126 pounder like Mickey while weight drained is a good idea. Plus i dont think Juanma has managed to develop his defense the way he needs to avoid Mickeys shots.
Ide say he knows hes been taking there as a sacrificial lamb and hes taking the fight because the money is good and he knows there cant be much left after what hes experienced in recent years.
He will fight valiantly, will get stopped then probably blame it on the weight and get shot at a 130 pounds title.
correct me if im wrong but hasnt Vanes backed out of a couple of meaningful fights already? WBC stinks but i think Vanes is the only one at fault if he stays a borderline contender for ever.
Mendez and Gamboa arent exactly safe pics for anyone. The man wants to get paid and theres nothing wrong with that. BTW it was the Burgos fight that went his way "controversialy" in NY.
In his last fight out he clearly beat a very good fighter in Magdaleno.
