MGM Grand, Las Vegas, NV - During the ongoing fight week, three division world champion Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30KOs) has been displaying his usual quiet confidence. While Cotto has never been a big talker, he recently provided some insight into Saturday's clash against Floyd Mayweather (42-0, 26KOs), which will be the most lucrative fight of his career.

The fighter of Puerto Rican descent said that he had a great training camp for the fight and that his trainer Pedro Diaz has him ready for whatever Mayweather brings to the ring on Saturday.

"I have prepared myself for any type of style he can bring. I have worked hard and I will be ready for what he brings," Cotto told BoxingScene and other media members. 

Cotto said that Diaz has made improvements that have made him a better all around fighter.  He also has developed a relationship with Diaz that he was lacking with some of his previous trainers.

"I am very comfortable with Pedro. When you train at the best capacity you can and you have a guy who always wants to bring out the best in you then you have great chemistry," Cotto explained.

The WBA junior middleweight champion was asked if he had stopped to appreciate the purse he is receiving for the upcoming fight.  If the pay-per-view numbers end up as good as anticipated, Cotto should receive a career high payday. While Cotto is grateful, he said that everything that he has received in boxing he has earned.

"Everything I have in my career I've earned it. No one has given it to me. I'm here because I'm a hard worker. I work hard for everything I have."

Cotto was also asked about his strategy for facing a fighter that hasn't been defeated in a career that has spanned 16 years. The 31-year old didn't reveal his fight plan but confidently said that he will leave the ring victorious.

"If no one else has showed the way you beat Floyd Mayweather, if no one else has made the blueprint, you will see me show how you beat Floyd Mayweather," said Cotto.
