About time that a rican recognized that they need a change in trainers. Most trainers here in PR suck.
It's interesting to hear you say that. Mexico keeps turning out good boxers and trainers but from an outsider's point of view it looks like Puerto Rico isn't.
At least not compared to how they used to. I wonder if maybe boxing is on the decline on the island?
Its a great move. Orlandito is way better than he showed against Darchinian. Hes a smart kid and a hard worker. Im pretty sure he will dedicicate himself to getting better.
Nacho can do wonders with a smart fighter. On the marketing side its an exellent move. Hes got a NY fan base, PR fan base and hopefully he will earn some mexican fans as well.
man, this'll do nothing to the rivalry but strenghten it.
I can def. see Orlandito knocking out Beristain inside the ring after he wins his first belt. Does Ponce De Leon still have a puerto rican trainer?
Yeah I saw this earlier I was going to post it in the Latino forum , but thanks for posting it up , It's going to be interesting for sure if Nacho can correct his mistakes and make him into a better fighter, regardless of the Mexican Puerto Rican rivalry. To be honest I haven't seen too much of this kid,(aside from the Vic fight) but I'm sure this will have a positive outcome for the Orlando and knowing he's 25 it can't hurt him at all having the legendary Don Nacho training him.
also, the work he's going to get down there is going to be grade A. nacho's just as revered among pr eyes as he is through mexican goggles.
