Pacquiao- Foot work, Circles, and SPEED!!..
Cotto- Jab, Power, and TIMING!!.
Pacquiao will take the early rounds IMO..by being more cautious..he'll try and get in and out quickly..maybe flurry a bit here and there making Cotto look a lil slow..but Cotto is NOT SLOW!!..that's where Cotto will probably begin to overpower Pacquiao with a crisp solid jab and some early work to the body and slow Pac down a bit..then he'll begin his wrath!..he'll start with some 2-3 hit combos and start upping his pace around the 4th or 5th..and start putting up the pressure leading with the JAB which will be KEY..then the timing will look obvious where it'll neutralize Pac's speed and he'll be getting countered..I got Cotto by 9th round TKO..the punishment will be too much for Roach to bear..and will stop the fight Ala' Peñalosa..
Pacquiao has the tools to also stop Cotto..but I think his lack of quality in opposition while moving up in weight will be his downfall when put in front of a young strong lion like Cotto..but it truly is a pick em fight when you compare the more recent fights and see their results..
That sounds about right... It also sounds like the Margarito/Cotto fight!
I'm in the Navy, stationed in Japan so I'll be watching it for free on AFN (Armed Forces Network) while eating BBQ and drinking a few beers. It'll be Sunday morning over here.
for every 2 punches cotto throws, pac lands a 5 combo.
Cotto looks like theyve been practicing back pedaling counter punching. it worked for marquez so i guess thats what they foucsed on. to go toe to toe with pac is asking to be KTFOd
lol!! umm.. no.. to go toe to toe with COTTO is asking to be KTFO. and 90% of true, knowledgeable boxing fans would agree
With much conviction I say Porter wins. It would be a very entertaining fight but Porter is more skilled, more versatile, and faster. I see a bright future for Porter.
It's more so that Floyd is being honest about his Uncles health problems, diabetes does cause many problems with eyesight which is very much needed in evaluating and analyzing. Floyd noticeably became less defensive in opt of more offensive approaches which is more of Rogers' school of thought. Floyd Mayweather sr. is an expert in defense and the conceptualizer of what Mayweather Jr. is suppose to be in the ring. He's the guy who molded Mayweather so he will know best of how to bring Mayweather back to optimal level and even exceed to new plateaus.
Good post. Thanks. I'd send you green k if it actually make a difference lol
I think it was combination of Roger's health and Floyd fighting too flatfooted and getting hit too much in recent fights, especially the Cotto fight
Possibly, but I'm watching Floyd's fight against Canelo as we speak and Floyd stood toe to toe most of the fight. He actually walked Canelo down many times during the fight just like he's been doing in the last couple of years.
kinda hard to take this opinion seriously when they've been wanting to match him up with martinez to no avail.
Why would Sergio want to fight GGG when a fight with Chavez was on the horizon? After that fight, Sergio deserved a tune up due to the injuries he suffered in the Chavez fight. Now, a Cotto fight is much more lucrative and he's wanted it for years. Remember that GGG just recently started to become popular.
In my opinion, it's ok to be a big fan of GGG and appreciate him as a fighter but he gets overrated and overhyped. People say he'd beat all these fighters but he hasn't been tested yet. Let the man win some big fights first.
GGG is so overrated in these forums it's not even funny. Put him in there with a slick boxer and he'll get exposed as one dimensional. A healthy Martinez would school him. As far as Cotto, the only chance he has against Martinez is if Martinez doesn't recover fully from his injuries. BTW, Martinez is the lineal champ and deserves it. To be the man, you've gotta beat the man.
No way does Andre Ward retired undefeated unless he copies Duckweathers tactics in never stepping up to challenge himself.
Rigo looks like to remain with the 0 and I wouldn't be surprised if the man to hand Ward his self-righteous ass in an absolute beating is GGG.
Ward getting beaten by GGG? Lmao
Marciano and Mayweather are fighters very comparable!!
Mayweather is the white/italian version of Rocky Marciano, its very clever Mayweather has made himself so hated to get more cash and he makes up genius excuses to avoid the fights (a few years for the opponent to come out of his prime years) then like lion he strikes with fury!
Its clever but in short its a coward move and hence why Floyd is no better than Rocky Marciano.
To think that this whole time I thought Mayweather was black. :pat:
Whatever. He's a quitter. In the context of how he responds to adversity and similar situations to other boxers, he's a quitter. THAT is how he's being judged... Not in the context of how fans would react in the ring, but in the context of how other boxers would react. I call it how I see it, from the comfort of my own living room. So what?
yeah, i agree with roach. its a fighter's ability to wins fights. and speaking of ability, pacquiao has more of it than cotto and mayweather combined.
And the award for Most Ridiculous Post of the Year goes to...
Why is it so unbelievable that a fighter, at age 37, actually wants to retire? I have served with Filipinos in the Navy who are very content and retired in the Philippines on 3K (U.S.) a month. I'm sure Manny has enough to take care of his family for life.
Word up. That Filipino Mafia in the Navy will have you making Chief in 10 years or less too lol
Good for cotto. Not A big fan at all of cotto but Im rooting for him to whoop Pac. Cotto needs to condition himself to last the 12 rounds with pac and go to a UD. Pressure is what can beat pac, constant pressure. He can't fight back while hes being pushed back. Cotto needs to study the whoopin that Morales gave pac in their first fight. But be careful cotto.
Pac's first fight with Morales was too long ago and he has since improved greatly as a fighter. Cotto needs to study his more recent fights in order to come up with a good gameplan. I'd say his last 4 fights.
It's ironic he says this. Who's he kidding? I love RJJ, but he lost his legs a decade and a half ago. His hand speed is still good, but his chin, legs, and reaction time are 20% of what they used to be.
Wow... Definitely looked like Ortiz could've gotten up but didn't even try. Ortiz has issues. He's done. Three KO losses in a row. I feel bad for him but I seriously think he needs to toughen up. Props to Collazo though.
No, that's not all all what you were talking about, or you would have said so, just stop. I caught you. It's over. LoadedWraps wins.
Yeah buddy. You caught me. I don't know anything about boxing. LoadedWraps wins.
I have no hesitation in believing what Martinez says. He more or less promised to make a bloody mess of Chavez Jr.'s face, and he sure as hell did. After what Cotto went through with Margarito and Pacquiao, his face might just explode into a lake of blood all over the ring after Sexy Serge is done with him!
I agree. We're talking about a Martinez who had 4 straight KO wins at Middleweight verses a Cotto who has struggled at 154. All this talking by Martinez gives me the impression that he's confident that he will be well enough health-wise and he'll be able to batter Cotto like he should.
Nah brah
Even at 40 years of age, Pac will still be too active, too mobile, and too aggressive for a gun shy, stationary Broner. Pac will have Broner resetting all fight. Broner's landed punches will be in the single digits for every round. It won't even be competitive. The only chance Broner has is to perfectly time a right hook just like the one that Marquez used to KO Pac.
What a fight!!! I gained more respect for Guerrero. It's obvious that he really wanted a win, but Garcia was the better fighter. There's no shame in that. Garcia showed great versatility tonight. I was impressed. It was a fairly competitive fight, but a clear win for Danny.
