You simply can not make this stuff up. this is amazing..you get credit for getting your ass whipped against hall of famers..but beating hall of famers gets you no credit? Pretty much sums it up.
A resume isn't just the names that you see on paper, you've got to put names in proper context.
Floyd has:
Oscar
Mosley
JMM
Cotto
All of whom are sure fire HOFers yet Mosley was shot, Oscar was almost shot and Cotto had taken some of the most horrendous beatings I've seen at the highest level in this sport and was no longer at his best weight.
JMM was a fat lightweight without the help of Mr Memo, so looking at that in proper context, those wins don't all account to greatness (I've always given Floyd a pass for Oscar and Hatton).
On the other hand you look at what Duran did against Hagler, Hearns and Leonard, they are all far greater than the entirety of Floyd's career even though he went 2-1 with SRL and got obliterated by Hearns and lost to Hagler. It's context *****!

LOL, You made a thread on a topic you got owned, good job bro:fing02:
resume is just wins, record is wins/losses/draws/NC
based solely on that, wins are always better than losses
bringing respect into it is a whole different animal
respect is subjective, so you can't gauge it undisputedly
but obviously, Duran is more respected than Floyd
this wasn't worth the rant Larryx, you need more whores
What the fuc.k is an actual welterweight? How do you define "actual welterweight"? Is it someone who started their career at 147 or someone who spent most of their career at 147, someone who performs their best at 147 or like most people on this post and this board, do you have a special definition that applies only to Floyd Mayweather?
Mayweather didn't start his career at 147, did not fight the majority of his fights at 147 and did not perform his best (in terms of knockout percentage) at 147. The same applies to Cotto, Mosley and Oscar De La Hoya. So, are any of these guy true welterweights?
Your comment is about as asinine as most of the comments on this thread!
Well, I would not consider a fighter a welterweight when after the fight, he returns to fighting below welterweight for the next 3 years as Marquez did.
I would not consider a fighter a welterweight when its fairly well documented that keeping the weight on is an issue for them as it has been for Pacquiao.
I would not consider a weight class a fighters natural weight when they require weight training to put on mass to move up in weight.
Floyd is a welterweight. He is apparently unable to make 140lb.
If he was indeed not a welterweight, why wouldn't he fight all of the little guys that he has moved up in weight at a lower weight that he is more comfortable at?
Since context doesn't matter anymore, Pacquiao's win over De La Hoya is clearly better than Mayweather's because Pac made Oscar quit. What a great win that in no way can be criticized.
Dude, enough ether for today. They're still burning.

This is seriously one of the greatest GIFs, ever.
Marciano and Mayweather are fighters very comparable!!
Mayweather is the white/italian version of Rocky Marciano, its very clever Mayweather has made himself so hated to get more cash and he makes up genius excuses to avoid the fights (a few years for the opponent to come out of his prime years) then like lion he strikes with fury!
Its clever but in short its a coward move and hence why Floyd is no better than Rocky Marciano.
To think that this whole time I thought Mayweather was black. :pat:
You forgot to add, "while taking PEDS" because anyone with any sense knows that was the case. How is that for context?
I thought this thread was all about disregarding context??
That's a strong accusation there, but if were talking about common sense though most top athletes use some sort of enhancement drug so how how do we distinguish they guys are clean?
He also got rid of Hatton in only two rounds while knocking him down in the first round.

Dude, two little guys getting fat and continuing to fight each other is not the same as Marquez beating an actual welterweight.
Haha!

Wow, you are seriously dense. The point is that if two fighters are competitive with each other a lower weight class, if they both move up, they will remain competitive with each other.
Seriously, did you even graduate highschool?
As I stated, only on this message board does this bull**** logic apply.

Stop sweating this crap Larry. You should know by now that this type of bull**** logic only applies to Floyd Mayweather and is only mentioned on this message board -- a board, which, quite frankly, has no credibility when you consider the intelligence level of most of the people who post on it.
So now manny is fat???
