You guys look way too deep, I watched it once and had Jacobs narrowly winning. You don't have to justify why you didn't listen to the commentary team and are able to score a fight yourself, that's what these clowns do, they haven't a clue about scoring fights.
Good point. I just get upset when the entire boxing world *****es about not getting good competitive fights.....then when we do we complain that a close fight that could have gone either way was a robbery.

I personally feel that rounds 3,4,5,8,9 were clear cut for Golovkin. Plus extra point for GGG in round 4. I also think Jacobs clearly won 6,7,10, and 11. No debate in my mind.
So it basically comes down to how each individual feels about rounds 1,2,& 12.
Even if you gave all three to Jacobs...it's a 114-113 win for DJ. If just one of those rounds goes to GGG then it's 6-6 fight with golovkin winning 114-113 cause of the knockdown. Clearly no a robbery.
It was a good fight. Could DJ have won...yes. Did he dominate GGG...no.
Totally understand. Again I'm just saying how I saw the fight and I've watched it half a dozen times now. My point is that in order to call it a robbery you would have to give DJ 1,2, & 12 plus a round or two from 3,4,5,8,9. I just don't see it.
I personally think GGG won but it was a great competitive fight.
A large part of this is the fault of the WBA itself. Danny Jacobs has been allowed to parade around with a belt for so long and refer to himself as a "world champion" (which is laughable) that its gone to his head.
There is no way Jacobs would be so willing to miss this fight if it meant no more belt and no more title. The WBA should not allow an interim bout. Fight the opponent or the other man consolidates the belts.
Because under the PBC banner fighters loose all momentum. Jacobs vs Quillen didn't sell well because Jacobs fought Mora before that and Quillen had a boring fight with Lee.
The Quillen fight should have made Jacobs star power sky rocket....and it would have but instead of capitalizing on all the hype he waits 10 months then fights Mora again in Reading to a bored crowd on Spike.

I bought this fight and I'm not pissed about it. I passed on manny and Canelo this year so I bought this one. Under card was good and, yea the main event was not that exciting but that was all Postols fault. Crawford boxed, Postol walked around the ring like an idiot and never engaged. The best man won.

I am sorry; but, I disagree, Abel Sanchez and Freddie Roach are mostly offensive and pressure oriented and Kovalev don't need them. Kovalev need Virgil Hunter. Virgil Hunter is more defensive oriented and he can teach Kovalev how to protect his body and defence in general, he can teach Kovalev how to fight inside to push his opponents to long range, good clinching skills, how to avoid clinches in favor of the other opponent, put his body more durable, work in his cardio and stamina. I know this all sound good to be true, because Kovalev need his mental fortitude to learn all those things. Also those things take time to learn and you need to be focus all the time. He won the first 2 rounds, as soon as Canelo adjusted to the speed it was purely a matter of time. He took control of the ring, was landing big to the body and breaking Khan down.
It was about to be 4-2 Canelo, but he sent Khan to orbit instead.

How much do you think this fight is worth? 6 Million? That purse at 70/30 would be 4.2 for GGG and 1.8 for Jacobs. That's only 300K more than he made for Quillin. Do you think Jacobs and Haymon will go for that?
You know, this is bulls**t. I'm not one of those dingbats that go around claiming everyone is scared of GGG, but I do think these guys all understand the probability of getting KO'd and their career trajectory being derailed is extremely high and want compensation for it.
