Just watched the fight for the first time and Jacobs had Triple G befuddled and confused throughout the entire fight. Triple G had his moments here and there but Jacobs maintained his composure and outboxed Triple G silly. That was a flat out ROBBERY!
how does he know that? he was dropped hard and knows gggs power is for real. just because he wasnt knocked out doesnt mean he cant be knocked out. same can be said for ggg. just because jacobs didnt knock him out doesnt mean he couldnt.
lol you schooling those bums.
But it's useless, haters gonna hate and talk...
Most people who thought Jacobs won will concede it was a close fight and could've went either way. People who had GGG winning won't even admit the fight was close.
Yeah, because GGG won that fight.
I recognize it was a close/hard to judge fight.
But any accurate eye will see GGG won.
Exactly...Jacobs landed a lot of loud shots to GGG gloves and shoulders but just because they're loud doesn't mean they count. GGG on the other hand landed a lot of quiet but effective jabs, especially in the early rounds, which is why Jacobs face was swelling by the 5th. How could that be for someone supposedly getting outboxed? I watched the fight twice and had 115 - 112 GGG just like the judges. I dare anyone show or point out all these supposed rounds where Jacobs outlanded GGG to the body and face, not arms and gloves.
Lot os flurries which never landed clean.
GGG on the other hand was popping jacobs head back the whole fight with the jab. GGG controlled the tempo of the fight. H

Outlanded 3-1 in jabs. GGG landed close to twice as many shots as his opponent. Along with the ko. Jacobs back pedalling the whole fight and barely landing any clean shots. Just lol at anyone who thinks it's a robbery and he won the fight.
Anyone who thinks jacobs came even close to winning the fight is a ****ing idiot. Guy barely landed any clean punches and his back was agains the ropes the whole fight. GGG was cutting the ring off on jacobs the whole fight and he was on his backfoot trying to survive. He was back pedalling and ggg was landing his jab at will. Everything he was throwing was hitting ggg's gloves elbows and not the face. In fact, I've never seen ggg land his jab so many times on an opponent other than lemeuix. It was a jab clinic.
what does this even mean he hardly did anything??? once again you are judging him by some sort of fantasy criteria based on past fights instead of judging him against jacobs the man he was fighting. he outlanded him in most of the rounds and aside from a solid shot or 2 from jacobs every round he landed the cleaner flusher punches. he did more than jacobs. thats how you judge boxing
I just remember he wasn't that active for a lot of rounds with Jacobs doing a lot more. I remember after watching the fight when it happened I was sure Jacobs won thinking that Golovkin didn't do enough. Than I re watched it a few weeks after & still thought the same thing. I had Golovkin ahead the first half of the fight maybe 4 rounds to 2, than I had Jacobs winning most of the second half from what I recall.
Had it a 1 point win for GGG, he should've gave Jacobs a rematch just like Canelo with Lara but both guys are businessmen!
I'm doubtful they'll give The Miracle Man himself another go since his style match up is a nightmare for anyone at 160 .
Now that Jacobs knows GGG can't knock him out he would actually in a rematch sit down on his punches more and actually land something that would Golovkin do a lil dance!

Honestly, & this is coming from a guy that has GGG in his top 5 favorite fighters. I agree with the OP that Golovkin should have lost. I watched the fight twice & had him losing both times. 8 rounds to 4 is pretty accurate or 7 rounds to 5 at best for Jacobs. There were way too many rounds where Golovkin hardly even did anything. I'm still predicting Golovkin to beat Canelo though but the fight is very even at this point.

Exactly! Those individuals are coming up with new criteria to judge a fight which aren't even part of the scoring system. Like, how the hell does keeping your composure win you a boxing match or how the hell does 'confusing' your opponent win you a boxing match when you are still taking more effective punches than vice versa? Makes no sense!
If anything, Daniel Jacobs was confusing himself with all the extra and unnecessary things he was doing. What does it even mean to 'outbox' an opponent? How do we define 'outboxing' someone? If we're going to use irrelevant criteria to score a bout, we might as well judge a boxing bout by who has the flashiest or sexiest looking movement in the ring (a new, invented criteria which I just invented right now).
What criteria are you using to judge the fight? If we go by the main criteria, which is who landed the more cleaner and effective punches, then GGG did better in that department. Thus, he won the fight. Those other factors you've mentioned are either irrelevant (Jacobs keeping his composure) or are extremely vague / ambiguous (Jacobs befuddling GGG or 'outboxing' him). If there aren't any knockouts / knockdowns or lopsided rounds, then the next main criteria is clean and effective punches landed. The boxer who lands the more of those punches wins. Thus, those arbitrary and subjective criteria such as 'befuddling' and 'outboxing' become irrelevant.
GGG is a deserved winner. There was no robbery!

Had it 8-4 but the other way around. Jacobs wasn't doing anything productive a lot of the time. Just surviving. You don't get a decision just for going the distance with a guy who is known for being a big puncher.
I scored it 114-113 for Jacobs
Myself too, big Golovkin fan too. I do however think he mops the floor with Canelo, not sure he stops him but I think he's gonna routinely bust his ass up good, corner likely have to stop it to save face.
