He sucks. He got his ass handed to him by a fat and out of shape James Toney. Too bad Toney fvcked it up be testing positive for banned substances.
The only fight I want to see with John Ruiz is a rematch with David Tua. :fuckyou:
Tua Beats Ruiz in 4
An average top level fighter. How big is his cut, after the manager/promoter has taken his?
I know for the Pavlik v Taylor fight......Pavlik got 1M and after everyone was paid he went home with about $660K (roughly).
Hell I'm a heavyweight but I slumped to the ground with just one body shot THAT I HAD ALREADY BRACED FOR TO COME.
The worst part was while I was rolling around the ground in agony.....they all laughed. Payback was bit@h.
How's the Oktoberfest in your area?
Non-existant....I'm here in the U.S. I managed to go to the 1993 Oktoberfest in Munich. It was sweet......:hijacked:
I agree taht a body shot can be more crippling than a head shot. I was roughhousing with some friends when I was a teen....when one of my friends threw a haymaker/hook from my right side (I wasn't paying attention) and hit me near the sternum. It bought me to my knees for about 20-30 seconds.
Damn...my childhood was awesome.
It seems to me that Steward should drop Jermaine Taylor. I like Jermaine, but I just dont know if he wants to be the kind of fighter Steward likes. Steward wants a fighter who will be a student and will devote their life to this sport, and Taylor just isnt that type. After this Pavlik rematch they should just go their seperate ways and Steward should focus his time on Cintron and Andy Lee, two guys that buy into Steward completely. Wlad seems to buy into his philosophy as well, and he follows instructions and trains even when not in camp. Cintron and Lee walk around at about 10lbs over their weight classes limit, something that shows extreme disclipline. Taylor doesnt have that discipline. He is a great fighter, just not a great manny steward fighter.
And the Pavlik fight proved just that. Hell he took Taylor to the mountains, to be alone and eat, sleep, breathe boxing and do some serious training. He bought him there to focus....and Taylor got knocked out.
oct it was time seven years ago.
I sure as hell wouldn't want to take 7 years of unneccessary beatings. I think he might already be brain damaged from all the punishment.
Seriously...how many wars has he been in.
I refuse to click the link, but does it have anything to do with if he weighs a certain weight he won't lose?
No....it has nothing to do with weights....check it out..you might like it.
Never seen that b4, thought it was pretty cool tho man cheers for posting it :fing02:
I think it is cool that someone actually sat down and devised a formula on how to guage a boxers ability (so to speak)...and then named it for somone who was the baddest man on the planet.
ive read about this before, and i think its a very interesting point of view. it would be nice if somehow they make this an official stat :P
I think once it gets ome more poularity and usage it might become a sort of permanent reference.
People just have to start using it.
Why else would he be fighting Golden Johnson who already has 7 losses?
Probably because he is scared to have a rematch with Kermit Cintron.
It's most definately a tune up....and as stated previously the promoters want to ensure that he is good to go.
Id hate to fight guys like JT though. His face dont change so you dont know if he is hurt. Real poker faced looking. Even when he was down it only looked like he was taking a breather.
But he must have been hurt real bad to not try and get up.
Nah....it's the brain damage that causes that.:smashfrea
I really didn't see JT recovering from the assault in the 7th. Even if he did get up he would have been out on his feet and would have been subjected to serious damage...it was a good stoppage.
