More BS. A very childish response, showing people who do not hold the same views as most people in the UK. If I said all muslims were terrorists and evil ****ers would I be right? **** no. Posting vids of brainless chavs doesn't validate your arguments.
I'm just posting it cus it's funny as f**k
Hatton is most likely the most popular British fighter of all time poor comparison.
Lets compare a currently active white fighter with Amir in terms of popularity.
Carl Froch has consistently fought and beat the best fighters out there over the course of the last 4/5 years he is no where near as popular in the UK as Amir, this suggests race is in fact not a huge issue.
I don’t get the last part are you saying you support Kevin Mitch more than Amir because he is white? That is down to your own prejudice not of that of the whole countries.
I'm comparing Hatton because Amir's boxing abilities have surpassed Hatton's at his age. What I mean is Hatton at 24 vs Amir at 24, in terms of ability and on fan base.
What I meant by my conclusion is that I find it hard to get behind Amir. Amir considers himself 'British' where as 85% of his fan base are Muslims (inc. British Muslims) Having a fighter like Ricky Hatton with a big personality and self righteous English behaviour and attitude was a dream to support. I have nothing against Muslims or Asians. I have plenty of friends who are Muslim and Asian. My point including Kevin Mitchell was that if he had the same record with the same victories as Khan had he would be HUGE across England. He was once labelled as the 'next Ricky Hatton' lol
Amir's popularity throughout the UK is held back I feel. He's starting to make a big name for himself across the world now after fighting in Vegas. I know it's a lot different but compared to Ricky Hatton, whose first fight in Vegas literally had so many fans there. It was a defence against Urango I believe but he still had thousands of fans making the trip too see 'Ricky hits Vegas' I remember it. Now Khan has had two fights in Vegas I believe and doesn't have half the fan base like Rick did at that stage. Khan has a lot more going for him than Rick did at that age that's for sure. I do believe the majority of white people in England not necessarily don't like Khan they just don't like Asians and Muslims. Khan is a nice guy and clear to see he hasn't got any major bad attributes outside of the ring. Unfortunately English society have a very ugly view on Muslims and Asians. So in conclusion I feel that Khans popularity is held back by his religion, not his attitude but his beliefs. Floyd Mayweather is my favourite fighter after Hatton retired. I'm going to be backing Floyd if he faces Amir. I said to myself the other day if Amir traded places with someone like Kevin Mitchell I would definitely be backing Mitchell. So race/ethnicity definitely plays a part in this.:boxing:
Haye got a 50/50 contract. I believe HBO said both men were going earn 15 million for the fight.
yes you're right sorry I was taking into account the endorsement payments Haye would of been awarded with if he would of won the fight.
I think the problem for Haye here is that he is still the villian. Let's compare this to Ricky Hatton. Hatton was backed by the whole of England leading up to the Mayweather fight. He had one of the largest followings for a English fighter ever. He didn't boast an excessive amount and did show the respect for Floyd. After Ricky was beaten by Floyd and there was still a demand for Hatton. He didn't come out with any poncy excuses and he didn't whinge. He took that defeat on the chin. He was still the fighting pride of England. There was demand for a Hatton homecoming, he was loved by everyone still across England. Now compare this to David Haye, is there really a demand for a 'Haye farewell fight' or a 'Haye homecoming'? not imo. His excessive arrogance and lack of respect has tarnished his chances of having England behind him.
A large degree of English fans wanted to see Haye loose last night. That says it all. Still a massive fan but time to hang up the gloves Dave. (And reimburse my 20£ bet -.-)
It depends. WK got around 15m in total for winning but it was expected. If Haye would of won he would of got around 20m. I'd say Haye still took about 5m from this fight.
If you're from outside the UK and saying things like ' Of course they will support Amir' etc. You need to stfu.
Basically, the PPV fans will get behind Amir. He's a nice guy to the public sure but doesn't show the appreciation like Hatton or Calzaghe, and hasn't half the fanbase they had. So they will be behind him as long as the Union Jack is flown with him.
I myself a Floyd fan since he beat Hatton. He showed great respect for Ricky and this really did turn a lot of the public around on their viewpoint of him. My friends and I are quite serious boxing fans and Mayweather is pretty much all of our favourite fighters.
Overall I think that the UK fans will be split 65-35 in way of Amir. Simply because they choose not to follow boxing.:boxing:
He should have retired when he fired his entire team, got fat and cried for weeks after Floyd Mayweather introduced him to the turnbuckle which resulted to using coke...
It is funny that Pac cashed in on the mentally destroyed Hatton. Good for Pac.
Glad to see Hattons finally getting it right even if its nearly 4 years late.
****head. Pretty sure Hatton has achieved more than anything you will remotely do in your life. No shame Rick you lost to the two best p4p's at the time.
