Why did it take 10 years for Kell Brook to get his first world title shot? He turned pro in 2004 aged just 18. He got his first world title shot 10 years later against Shawn Porter. Why did it take 10 years? He was undefated and well known to Boxing fans many years prior that title shot.

As a relatively new boxing fan. One thing I always have wondered is why do boxers earn so little money compared to other athletes? Compare the average salary in American sport leagues like NBA, NFL and NHL. There are hundreds of players in those leagues. The average NBA player makes about 7 million dollars a year. There are around 400 players in the NBA. NFL and NHL players also make millions on average. Yet there are many top boxers who dont even make a million. I am not saying that you are underpaid if you dont make 2 million dollars. But why dont boxers that are ranked top 30 in their division make millions?

9 million people They certainly underachieve in boxing considering the population. It's quite embarassing when you compare them to Liverpool - population 550000 Northern Ireland population 1.8million Wales - population - population 3 million They produce much better boxers.

Before you there are not that many. There is only 70000-80000 people of Yemeni descent in the UK. Which is a tiny number. There are over 50 million people in the UK. Also the ratio of Yemeni boxers that are proffesional per capita is tiny and compared to other demographics. Yet 3 world Champions. Naseem Hamed- HOF’er and arguably the most talented fighter ever from the UK. Kal Yafai- Was Britain's longest-reigning world champion. Kid Galahad- The real IBF featherweight champion. Was robbed against Josh Warrington. Great fighter. Elite at Featherweight + Kal Yafai two other brothers. One is going to represent the UK in the olympics. Being from the USA. I wonder why there have been no notable Yemeni-American boxer? I mean our Yemeni community is much larger.

Being Norwegian-American I don't understand. Why is this? Is there a socio-economic reason for this? No norwegian boxer is ranked top 100 in Europe let alone the world. I looked at some national amateur bouts in Norway at Youtube. Most of the national amateur champs seem to be non-white immigrants. Very few native norwegians. We must be terrible fighters lol. When I think of other countries for boxers like Spain, Italy, France, Sweden, etc, I can't think of a fighter off the top of my head.
