Before you there are not that many. There is only 70000-80000 people of Yemeni descent in the UK. Which is a tiny number. There are over 50 million people in the UK. Also the ratio of Yemeni boxers that are proffesional per capita is tiny and compared to other demographics. Yet 3 world Champions.
Naseem Hamed- HOF’er and arguably the most talented fighter ever from the UK.
Kal Yafai- Was Britain's longest-reigning world champion.
Kid Galahad- The real IBF featherweight champion. Was robbed against Josh Warrington. Great fighter. Elite at Featherweight
+ Kal Yafai two other brothers. One is going to represent the UK in the olympics.
Being from the USA. I wonder why there have been no notable Yemeni-American boxer? I mean our Yemeni community is much larger.
The real fact of this matter is that they are ALL UK fighters.
All this 'heritage' stuff is total and complete BS.
Nobody is saying that they are not UK fighters, but there is a difference between nationality and ethnicity/heritage.
Only if you have a racial agenda.
Well said and I agree here.
Closing this for now but may re open it in the near future.
Rich kids don't box. Typically.
Immigrant communities aren't middle class. Typically.
When you get past those matters, the percentage really isn't that great.
And, yes, Hamed inspired Yemeni kids to fight.
It's not that much of a mystery.
"When you get past those matters, the percentage really isn't that great". Please explain.
Not sure I'd consider three guys to be "so many"
but boxing is a lot bigger in the UK right now. A lot more boxing gyms.

Watch the Highlights you idiot and tell me he was not robbed. Majority of the people know that Warrington lost the fight. Your invalid opinion wont change anything. When did I say all time reigning champion. He was Britains longest reigning world champion. Cant you read?
If you are going to count a fighter who never won a world title as a world champion, then I am going to say that Tyson Fury, who has held the lineal HW crown since 2015, was Britains longest reigning world champion during the whole of Kal Yafai's reign as WBA super-flyweight champ.

Two guys, not three. One of the "world champions" he named has never held a world title.

Kid Galahad lost to Warrington and he isn't a world champion. Check the highlights, you idiot, and tell me whose hand was raised and who was wearing the belt at the end of the fight.
Your bias towards fighters of Yemeni descent doesn't alter reality!
Britain is a very ethnically diverse place, probably P4P one of the most diverse countries on the planet. You could go into any city centre pedestrian area on any given day, and if you profiled 100 people, you'd probably have 40-50 different nationalities. Just the way it is. If people come here, muck in, and respect the culture, there's no problem with the man on the street. Britain is a welcoming place for foriegners and immigrants, regardless of what the media will have you believe.
Canada is probably more diverse now, because even if you don't want to muck in and respect the culture, it's our fault.

EDIT: Actually according to other figures the US Yemeni population currently stands at more like 100 to 200k although it should be noted that boxing is more popular per capita in the UK than the US by a significant margin.

The US Yemeni community only numbers around 20k or so compared to 70 - 80K in the UK per this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yemeni_diaspora
Best I can tell the only Yemeni - American boxer of the slightest note is Saddam Ali though.
EDIT: Actually the US figures are actually currently more like 100-200K per this:

Although it should be noted that on a per capita basis boxing is far more popular in the UK than the US
Kid Galahad was not robbed against Josh Warrington, and you are playing sementic games with your claim about Kal Yafai. He may have been holding a world title longer than any other currently reigning British champion at the time that article was written, but he wasn't Britain's longest reigning world champion.

Kid Galahad was robbed against Josh Warrington. So he is actually the real IBF champ at featherweight. And yes Kal Yafai was Britain's longest reigning world champ.

Yemenis are a tough bunch among the Arabs. Also, how many elite white fighters had the UK had? People of other races tend to excel more because of their life situations.
There have been plenty of elite white UK fighters. Why make this about race when it clearly isn't to do with it? It's to do with cultural and socioeconomic background most of the time.
