For me Naz wins this by a country ****ing mile. He had wins over a prime Kevin Kelly, Paul Ingle, Steve Robinson, Wayne McCullough, Manual Medina, Wilfredo Vázquez, Tom Johnson, Augie Sanchez with a scintillating KO, and a handful of B C level fighters who are more than a dam sight better than half of the garbage that Hatton cooked up with his myriad of WBU defences. When Naz won he was convicing. When Hatton wins he cant even convince us that his better than Collazo or any of the other no namers that he dug up.
I actually do like him. I’d go as far as saying he is one of my favorite fighters ever, his style was one of a kind and his punching power was that of a heavy weight.
However, let’s be honest. His resume is not great, he fought Vegas only once. He picked the right fights and was always going to be figured out at elite level
Still fun to watch nonetheless i agree he did aLOT of bum killing, but you cant deny that he beat long term champ Bungu very well, and theres another arguable elite win too besides normal titleholders.
i really dont like the way his head got too big.
But the main issue is he stuck with the fake 90s wbo title for most of his title career, which suggests he was afraid of picking up losses if fighting for recognised bodies that offer stiffer defences.
he does a few to be fair, putting aside that you dont like him.
i dont either but you gotta respect the elite wins.
hatton did face better opposition, but he didnt win those two most noteworthy ones...no blame attached they were another level...but what you win counts more.

Hamed has a deeper resume of noteworthy wins against contenders and champs than Hatton does.

Ricky Hatton
Naz was great but he wasted his career fighting nobodies. He ducked Mayweather and morales, then got the fuçk beaten out of him by Barrera

Prince Naseem Hamed.
But I rate Ricky Hatton 'I actually to this date? Rank him above Tyson Fury'.
Hatton was fighting decent competition in his WBU days, and his wins over Kostya Tszyu & José Luis Castillo where big.
Ricky Hatton has a deeper resume than Tyson Fury.
In boxing there are levels of status, fighters such as Anthony Joshua & Tyson Fury are now operating within Superstar status 'But there is a level of status above this? And Prince Naseem Hamed reached that level'.
2 minute mark.
Naz, honestly. Hatton wasn't bad but he was never as sensational as Naz nor was he even the top dog in his weight class, like Naz. Hatton probably had more heart and more grit in him, which goes a long way to explain why he was so popular, but he always fell way short of the mark against the top welterweights, whereas Naz was utterly dominant for a long time. He was like the featherweight version of Roy Jones. He's definitely in the conversation for the most freakishly gifted guys to ever lace them up.
Arguably the greatest natural talent in the history of the sport.

Naseem over Hatton, it's not even close.
Naseem was the man back in his day! He was a warrior and a great showman. Ridiculous power for a featherweight and good resume. Too bad he couldn't bounce back after the Barrera lost, but no shame losing to an ATG like him and he put up a better fight than most people remember.
Hatton wasn't on Naseem's level. Hatton was a great draw, but not that great of a fighter.
Hatton's skillset is also pretty poor in comparison to Naz.
