Zab and Mayweather knew each other for years. They have sparred many times. If any boxer would know Mayweathers tendencies and weaknesses it would be Zab. Also, you're forgetting that Zab was a freak athlete and back then he was actually quicker than May, beating him to the punch. This added with the fact that he had a jab, and fought like your stereotypical southpaw made him a big problem for Floyd. That being said, Manny isn't that typical type of southpaw that keeps that jab going while stepping to his right and he's also much more squared up than Zab.
Nothing at all wrong with what he said. Any great boxer should think himself the best. I like both Floyd and Pacquiao, but some people need to realize that as a boxer, the number one thing to have is confidence; otherwise all that talent will never be fully utilized. To be honest, I think that both fighters are good enough to make a case for being the greatest ever (no i'm not saying that it is necessarily true but they are both definitely up there no matter how you feel about them personally).
Manny has more power than Mosley. Manny was outweighed by 17 lbs. let see if Mosley would fight someone outweigh him by that much and see if he could send this guy in the hospital for surgery. Mosley couldnt even hurt Cotto.
Dude, Mosley hits harder than Pac. Pac can hit you with many quick explosive punches, but he definitely doesn't have the same knockout power that Mosley has. He's better in every department except power.
I reckon Hearns goes in as the favourite. I'd say it would most likely be a decision for hearns or a late TKO, because its much harder to KO a guy with good defense, a good chin and good conditioning early in the fight, but i do think it would be an early knockdown. Styles make fights and this is definitely the worst matchup possible Mayweather.
That being said, I would not count out Mayweather because the guy adapts very well to his opponent. Hence it would be 80-20 or 70-30 in Hearns favour.
But the problem with Oscar when he was in his Physical prime was that he was very one-handed. I don't think he could beat any version of Floyd to be honest.
I think May is a more complete fighter. I think Pernell Whitaker is more naturally talented (that's saying A LOT) but I reckon Floyd would realistically beat him 8 times out of 10. Reason? As great and talented as Sweet pea was he wasn't the most disciplined as his career progressed (drug problems). Against a guy like Floyd you not only need to be talented and a smart fighter but you also need the discipline both in preparation of the fight and also to execute the gameplan. Pernell's had two major flaws: 1)he could be goaded into brawling and knocked off balanced (like he was against Roger)
2) As his addiction to drugs got stronger, his preparation before fights got worse.
My point is that as great as Sweet Pea was, he could have done even better if he had the same dedication to his craft as he did he was first coming up.
Joe Frazier was way undersized for a heavyweight. In fact he'd probably have fought as a cruiser weight in modern times. I really can't take this person seriously to say that Joe Frazier doesn't belong in the Hall of fame.
Does Roach truly mean what he says in 24/7 about Bradley being "very very slow"? He's easily the fastest guy Manny will have ever fought. If they believe what they've been saying so far Bradley is taking this win.
Bradley can't go backwards against Pacquiao and expect to win. he is not faster than Marquez & Mosley. this fight will get stopped once Tim's face becomes unbarable to look at. God Bless Him
He definitely is. Did you see him against Devon Alexander? I think the biggest shock to Devon's camp was that Bradley could match them in foot and hand speed.
