chicken came first.
the egg was only created on the 6th day and you know whose egg im talking about. :D pac has 2 and floyd noone. now, y'all would not be surprised if floyd wont fight pac.
i guess everybody don't have a problem with the commission's rules before, and that includes floyd for 40 fights. that being said, i highly doubt floyd's ost demand is a one man crusade to clean up sport. i wouldn't be suprised if in his next fight there will be no ost.
I don't understand Pacquiao training too much for a tune-up fight. :D
Pacquiao only needs 1 week of training fighting a damaged fighter like Jotto. :lol1:
me too...
either way cotto will be ko'ed nonetheless..:boxing:
You dont get it do you. if they felt they were at a weight disadvantage they could've fought Mosley, best ranked WW at 142 and have him defend WBA strap which is has more recognition than WBO. They know a weight drained Cotto, as imo he's been lately (i think he needs to move up soon) fades on the later rounds, that's why they fighting for WBO and yes at a bs catchweight, he just fought Oscar at 47, carried up his strenght and speed in that fight, but wont do it for Cotto for his strap?QUOTE]
blame cotto for agreeing to fight pac at a catchweight. he could have said NO, right?
Thats pretty much what he is doing!!!!!!
Thats some bitch move, trying to get people at unhealthy weight!!!!!!
that's more of a smart thinking.
for christ sake, the man started at 106lbs. and you expect him to fight cotto at 147lbs? that's BS. cotto is bigger, stronger and have all the advantages at 147lbs. somehow, if cotto really wants to fight manny, he should fight him at a catch weight.
I will be more than glad to answer.
That site you posted is actually refering to Cotto's international amateur competition not his early local amateur career.
Please see the site below where it clearly say that Ivan Calderon fought Cotto at 106 (light flyweight division in amateur is 106 limit not 108 like in pro)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iv%C3%A1n_Calder%C3%B3n_(boxer)
Now that you have the information, our remarks, without taking nothing away from Pacquiao, is that Pullcounter and others keep on bringing up the former 106 lbs for this fight like if Cotto is actually facing a 106lb today and should retire if he cant beat him.
The fact is that the 106 lbs FOR BOTH FIGHTERS, is in their past, we all concede that Cotto will be heavier and will have more power, but according to the experts, those will be the only advantage that Cotto will have in this fight because Pacman is faster, more movement, stamina and even a better corner, just to mention some. Therefore the playing field will be leveled.
So why should Cotto retire if he losses to the p4p king when that p4p king has "more advantages" coming in to this fight than him?
According to Pullcounter, the answer to that question is because he was a former 106 lbs years ago
Even Roach said on this website (video from Roach posted yesterday from the press conference at Yankee Stadium) that Pacquiao was having trouble making weight which was making his life miserable and now he can fight at his natural weight meaning over 140 and that Pacman will be close to the 148 mark come fight night.
I hope this helps you understand where we are coming from and our point of view.
i agree with you in some point of your argument but have you not considered that pac started his pro career at 106lbs. (or 108lbs.) and cotto at 140lbs.?that's a big difference in size which cotto is definitely has the advantage.size does matter in boxing besides, cotto is a world class boxer and in his prime. with this said, cotto has the advantage to defeat pac on nov. 14 though i give pac a chance too.
Do you really think that I guy bigger quicker and stronger than JMM won't have a chance against a guy that JMM almost beat????
I beleive that Cotto will win this fight but i recognize that Pacman has a chance to win it. We will only know when the fight ends.
True that this will be Cotto's biggest pay day but this doesn't mean that it will be his toughest fight. Mosley, Margarito and Clottey represent IMO higher risk for Cotto than Pacman and i could be wrong but that's the way i see it. It will be a matter of opinion.
One thing is for sure with no if an buts about it.
Cotto will be Pacman's toughest fight in his whole career!!!!. (up till now)
im sure your just basing your opinion on the size of those 3 boxers you mentioned compared to pac. but skillwise pac is on a different level compared to those 3. imo pac's skill will be the difference rather than cotto's size.
:Dyeah, its just wrong IMO. whats next? pac fightin for the heavyweight title at a catch weight of 150?!!!!!! you didnt see hatton bitchin around over 2lbs when he stepped up to face a welterweight.
:haha:funny!!!
pac is not really a legitimate WW. he has no business fighting WWs in the first place. the thing is, he is just the big draw in boxing right now and he can demand what weight his opponent can fight him just to make it a fair fight.
so if pac and his team thinks that a catch weight of 150lbs is a fair weight to fight a heavyweight, then so be it.
lol at you, for trying to put Gerry in the same breath as marquez and Vazquez.
Second, Juanma was and still a propesct. he only had 21 fights, so you expected him to had fought Marquez and Vazquez by then. Stupid really.
And 3, what De Leons chin have to do with him beingm a elite fighter.
If you have a good chin, you have a good. And De leon Fought Guys, like Caballero and gerry himself and he didnt tasted the canvas prior to Juanma.
And last, great by you ignoring the fact, that you made a ass of your self by saying theres the posibility that Juanma would not land a single right hook, like Gerry is fukking Lochee or Benitez. You my man got :owned::boxing:
did you read and understood my post?is there a sentence that i've said that penalosa is in the same breath as vasquez or marquez?all i'm trying to say is that juanma has never fought the likes of vasquez or marquez, and even penalosa.
if juanma is more skilled than penalosa as what you want me to believe, tell me then what he will do if his right hook will be neutralized by penalosa?
this fight will be a snoozer.both fighters will seldom touch each other cuz the only way they know how to fight is backwards.but imo, floyd jr. will win on pts. cuz he's the more active dancer than jmm..
the pacman is very famous. he has been featured on fhm mag too.

In effect he has said exactly that, except he's said he's willing to come down 2lb but no more than that. I think it would be better if he said no to catchweight altogether, we have enough divisions as it is. But if he thinks he can manage 2lb but no more than that without being weight drained, and if he stands by that, I don't see how you can criticise him too much.
fredie roach made it clear in the beginning that pacquiao will fyt either mosley or cotto, if either is willing to come down at a catchweight near the JWW division. if cotto thinks that he will be weight drained at this weight, then there's no reason for him to make the fight with pacquiao.
I still have some 5.0k points left to bet, I'm willing to put them on the line for your 4.5k, you willing to put your money where your mouth is? I can't see why people keep trying to hype Gerry here, he is completely outmatched, Lopez is simply faster, younger and bigger.
ok. you're on.but what's the deal dude?
gerry definitely won't get the decision if this fight goes the distance.
what makes you so confident he gets through both? wait.. you must be puerto rican?
who says i'm a puerto rican? c'mon..the guy has tremendous power in his right hand alone. i bet he can crack the chin of both vasquez and marquez. look what he did to ponce deleon.
So skill wise Pac is way better than Mosley? GTFOH....cover up your biasness is showing!!! :stupid:
im not bias dumb****. maybe mosley is way better skilled than pac say 10 years ago when pac's skill is still raw.but at this stage of their career, pac's a better boxer skill wise. he's no longer a one dimensional boxer like he used to be.he can now box with both hands and brawl if he wants to.
