Winning against a bigger and a harder hitting opponent does get you a good win but it is the measure of the overall skill of the fighter that should be looked upon.
Alright before you go crazy and think im crazy. here is why. Pacquiao had the balls to step in the PRO ranks at 15 or 16? i cant remmeber it was so many decades ago. Pac showed from an early age that he was willing to fight the best at any time any place.
If these guys fought in the same era i beleive pac would have beat Sugar Ray on basis of HAND SPEED and foot work alone. Pac has shown he can take a punch. Ray ray could hit like a mule kick but look at all of Cotto's, Margarito's, Clottey's punches that Pac was eating for lunch. Not once has pac been knocked down by any welterweight or SWW and he walks around 142-145 ? dam thats pretty impressive.
Im not taking anything away from Sugar ray hes a great fighter but in his era he built his record by fighting 6-10 times a year or whatever. Hes a wonderfull fighter and i put him #2 in the ATG list. Ray Robinson would have beat floyd mayweather tho, floyd has no courage to fight the best anyways.
Footwork, Work Rate, Handspeed would have all favoured Pacquiao. He might not have stopped Ray Ray but he would have bruised his face pretty good imo.

Manny is seventh time world champ which has never been done, they asked him to test and he refused. He gave a million and one excuses on why he was afraid to test instead of giving blood. I am staying in context of the discussion, You claimed that Mayweather said Pacquiao was on roids or "assumed" he was on it. I'm just backing up the claim that Mayweather never came out and said "He's on roids", He just made one simple justified request. And since when do you need proof that an athlete is using peds before testing them? There was no proof that Mosley, Vargus, James Toney was cheating but they all tested positive. There was no evidence that McGuire, Marrion Jones was cheating but they tested positive or came clean about cheating. There was no evidence that Margarito had cheated Cotto, but he got banned for cheating cotto. They check fighters hand wraps before fights, why not test them before fights. Then from the Jump Floyds father told him to have him tested and Roach said thats fine he can be tested anytime. They threw that weight clause in the contract, they asked for 50/50, they asked for glove size, ring size. ANd when Floyd agreed to all the terms, they said the testing was wrong, backed out and fought clottey. Floyd went on to face Shane who is a more dangerous opponent then CLottey. Shane was the WW champ and he dominated him. But all you fans say is "floyd is scared, he only fights small guys"...that shit is dumb!
