I always wondered about this fight. I'd go with Mosley, he is physically stronger than Trinidad and has huge power behind his punches. Trinidad was dropped by Vargas and stopped by Hopkins, who is not known for his punching ability. Mosley is not good boxer, but Trinidad is neither. So we have two fighters in the fight in which I'd favor Mosley over Trinidad.
Andre Ward will be diva, not willing to fight outside of his hometown, not willing to fight without his crooked referee, not willing to fight without crooked judges.
Roy Jones jr-best wins are Ruiz and Toney, yet he is considered greater than Hopkins
Hozumi Hasegawa- I agree that this guy is overrated
Celestino Caballero
Clottey by TKO :boxing: To beat Joshua you gotta throw 1.6k punches like Margo,1.2k like Pac. Also you have to go to the body a lot, which is not Floyd's usual stuff.
I don't think so. You just wouldn't see as much jumping around divisions. You either fight in a certain division or you don't.
If boxers don't change their weight divisions, then all weight classes would become Hopkins type reigning. Klitschkos at HW beating bums, RJJ beating bums at LHW, Hopkins beating bums for 10 years at MW. Boxing would decline substantially. Most anticipated fights today are Klitschko-Haye, Pac-Floyd, all those guys naturally don't belong to the same weight class. Welterweight has been the most exciting division last few decades. All because champions coming from lower weight divisions and messing with the welterweight champions, like Duran, Whitaker, DLH, Pac, PBF, SSM. Most of these guys resume wasn't much impressive until they came to WW. Well I'd rather see Hopkins fighting at catchweight against DLH, Wright, Pavlik and moving around weights to challenge Tarver, Pascal, then sitting in his paper belts fighting bums.
if you're going by height, then yes, but if that is the case, then paul williams hasn't fought anyone his size and never will........
same with hearns.........
Isn't the reason why Pac, Cotto, Floyd, Mosley and everyone else at WW not willing to fight Pwill is his size advantage?
I was watching this fight like month ago. Yeah it's pretty crazy how simple brawler beat by points skilled boxer. Mosley lost to Forrest because he was trying to box VF, second fight was mostly jabbing each other. VF's jab was easily backing up SSM, everytime Mosley would jump Forrest was jabbing or countering him with right hand. But Mayorga was able to beat VF, because he wasn't afraid to eat Forrest's punches to land his own. Vernon lost his confidence, because on his several jabs and right hand on Ricardo's granite chin, Mayorga was answering with heavy punches.
WW at 150?
I think his idea was to eliminate jr.MW, give 3 lbs to WW and 4 to MW. Jr.MW is usually doesn't have much competition. In 2010 this division had 4 title fights:Pac-Margo, Bundrage-Spinks, Cotto-Foreman, Dzinziruk-Dawson. This weight division is easily dominated by WWs and most of the natural jr.ww boxers move up and easily compete at MW, like Martinez and Wright, because of lack of opposition at jr.WW.
-Kirby-;9964651']You have no proof to back up your claim. I checked the full broadcast of both events and they didn't show the "tonight weights".
I on the other hand....
Besides according to your logic size shouldn't matter. Pacquiao is the smaller guy destroying guys with 20 pound weight advantages. I just tore apart your argument there. Trinidad destroyed Joppy who was a MW, and De La Hoya "beat" Sturm who was a MW. They didn't just go up to fight Bernard. Trinidad was a tournament. De La Hoya challenged Hopkins.
Next?
Who's the smaller man?
