I actually like DiBella, he tells it like it is but he is limited as a promoter, he don't have the Power of Top Rank or GBP so that makes things difficult
Politics in Boxing makes it impossible for the Smaller Promoters
Not really. Oscar De La Hoya isn't some aristocrat. He is from East LA lol.
DiBella is a good promoter, I think Sampson is the talent agent though. He's the best. Dibella had a chance to sign Algieri and passed.
In your opinion, what fight do you consider the most horrible robbery this year?
I’m just curious what BSC members’ thoughts and views about these awful decisions.
Maidana/Floyd fight
Or
Provo/Algieri fight

Poll coming…
Neither. The real robbery of the year was Garcia-Herrera. How you don't have this option there shows how little you know.
wtf are u talking about? algieri won the fight, the only robbery was the 118 ruslan score card

I don’t know how Andre Ward gets hired for this after insulting the fans repeatedly saying it’s unacceptable for the paying viewers to think this was a robbery. And saying Haney doesn’t have a fan base because he wears Jordans. But this is Disney ESPN.
Mayweather Clans style of boxing is COVER UP TO SURVIVE and win by UD, that only works againt NONE Special fighters. AGAINST SPECIAL FIGHTER, Mayweathers are EXPOSED or should i say DISPOSED...lol
I agree that a special fighter is the kind that beats Mayweather. Like, Shane Mosley. Shane Mosley is a special fighter.
However, I don't think Mayweather should be compared to Leonard. Leonard started in the 140's and moved up. Mayweather's best weight is 126-147.
Do you think it would hurt the sport in the sense that it killed potentially the biggest fight in boxing since hagler/leonard???
You mean De La Hoya Mayweather, of course.
Mosley beat DLH twice nuff said. But I will say that a 39 year old Mosley is the best fight. Pacquiao is a bit small and Floyd will just run away from him anyway. Might as well have a bigger bull chase mayweather around.
a 39 year old welterweight mosley is faster or has a lot more on his tank than the middleweight oscar at 34??
the mosley now against the oscar floyd fought who do you think wins?
IMO, mosley is easier to outbox than packy. (just referring to their legs)
I don't understand what the hell you're talking about.
But yes, I do think a 39 year old welterweight Mosley is faster and more durable than middleweight oscar. If you recall, Sturm whooped oscar's ass.
The mosley now would beat the oscar floyd fought. Actually, I'll take it a step further. He would destroy that Oscar. Floyd was cooking Oscar, he didn't want to turn the heat up so that way he could get a rematch or somehting. Every time floyd turned it up Oscar couldn't take it.
I agree that Mosley is a bit easier to outbox, but he is MUCH more dangerous.
Hopkins sparring with Mosley is more of a difficult take for him than fighting Jones.
It's a shame because I think much of the public doesn't know about how bad Jones just got knocked out. He shouldn't be fighting again.
If Mayweather wins the fight (and the so-called PPV war), the public will be way too critical of Floyd if he doesn't fight Pacquiao. That is the only logical fight.
For some reason, when all of his fighters get asked who they want to fight, they say "talk to my promoter"... Ithink in his weird old mind, if they don't call anybody out, they have more pull in bidding or something. But it doesn't work.
but what about the money talk? 50-50 wont be ok for floyd.
First of all, I don't think it will happen. But if it should, and both win, there's too much money for it not to happen.
Plus, I HIGHLY DOUBT it does more than a million, or as much as Pac-Cotto. Pac's people will say that the Clottey fight was like Floyd's Marquez fight, not a real comptetition, and that the Cotto fight was more of a marker.
Paulie was made to look a complete bum against a past it Ricky Hatton,Hatton hit him at will..Khans 10 times faster than Hatton.
That was 25% of what Malignaggi was before McGirt trained him and now Malignaggi is much better.

Oh yeah, by the way: who do you think gave Oscar all those bruises on his cheek when Oscar was training down in PR????? Duh, Shane Mosley did...
Mosley didn't win the rematch, and I'll even go as far as to say that wasn't close. Just wasn't in my opinion.
He still got the W. And you can't say that the judges were biased. DLH is the attraction. Mosley>Oscar
Rules of the Floyd Athletic Commission, with unofficial scorer ILLuminato
Every fight is scheduled for 12 rounds
If a fighter lives too far away, such as Puerto Rico, or has no fanbase, there is no top-3 contender rule
In case the refere says "Stop punching", only Floyd can punch
Only Floyd can move backwards, hit and hold, and use forearms/ elbows as striking blows
In case of an accidental headbutt, Floyd will squint a little bit, and if he does that, it indicates it was not his fault.
Neither fighter can come in over weight, though if Floyd does, he'll give the opponent a little extra money.
In the case of a dangerous top-ranked welterweight, Floyd may fight a lightweight, junior welterweight, or senior citizen AT ANY TIME.
And before I forget to tell ya, Jim, in the case of a close fight, the FAC can test randomly(at Floyd's discretion) throughout the championship rounds.

"The intelligence doesn't change from 21 -- the age at which Mayweather won his first championship -- to now.
The ability to react upon it can.
Mayweather acknowledges there are subtle signs that he has slipped some, knows what they are and coyly refuses to discuss them. His father, Floyd Sr., said he has seen some tell-tale signs, too."

They just want you to believe he's slipping. He's the best he's ever been...after a 2 year break on his body...Mosley is 38 and he's been wayyy more active and taken much more punishment...
Mayweather would have won gold if he wasn't robbed.
As you must be aware, the scoring system is different from local amateur bouts and pro bouts. There are no robberies.
Everyone was tested not just him, so whatever point you're trying to make fails.
Not everybody takes blood removal the same. Some people faint at blood donation drives, some don't. Usually smaller people are more adversely affected, and Mayweather is smaller than the Russian.
Cut that out.
They put a gun to Jones Jr's chest in 88 Olympic Games and robbed him.
As you must be aware, that incident is the reason we have the new scoring system, hense, NO ROBBERIES. Judges don't even carry guns anymore :boxing:
It doesn't even matter how big you are.. if you can't fend off Manny's attack, how do you expect to win, or even survive? This is boxing, not a shoving match. This fight will look like Calzaghe-Lacy a bit.... Clottey throws like 40 punches a round..Manny will win by landslide.
Oscar wants to fight him, but I don't think he will.
Plus, it must be easy to get frustrated at somebody when the first thing a google search on your name brings up is:

I don't think Mosley is as stupid as some of the posters on here. He knows he can't just go & chase a brilliant ring technician like Floyd.
Agreed.
Shane might not win more then one round if that.
DELUSIONAL
The way Mosley turns on his right hand and left hook..he does it with speed and power. Just because Mosley got beat by Cotto (though I thought he won by a round) doesn't mean Mayweather will. I can't believe we're still on this on this board, especially after last year. Judah gave mayweahter problems with his speed and power, and Mosley has just just as much speed and more power. Plus he's very strong and bigger.
I just don't see Mayweather getting away for 12 rounds from Mosley. He's gonna get hit, hard. He's gonna be hurt at least once, I know it. We will see how he reacts.
Floyd called him out. He at least pretended to want to fight. With Manny he actually went into retirement.
What are you talking about? Floyd retired after the Hatton fight. Maybe he'll come back to fight manny.
Prime Mosley. Who wouldn't be terrified of that guy. Only losses were to Forrest and Wright, much bigger physically guys. I thought he beat Miguel Cotto too.
My problem with "running" is that these fighters usually don't initiate the action. As a result, "being first" is greatly discouraged because the fighter moving away has a much greater advantage. In my opinion, counterpunching and slipping punches is easy.. Maybe that's because that's my fighting style?
If you're landing clean, effective blows you shouldn't need to move away TOO MUCH, unless a fighter is backing YOU up through non-punching avenues.
