Ok lets start with Floyd vs Marquez.
Floyd why did u choose to fight marquez instead of mosley?
Floyd: "Marquez is a bigger draw. He's got a whole country behind him."
RESULTS.
Floyd-Marquez- 1 million pay-per-view buys.
Pacquiao-Cotto- 1.2 million pay-per-view buys.
EXCUSE.
Floyd: "I don't have a dance partner with me".
(totally contradicting his statement before the event.)
Can pac also say this after the results of Pac-CLottey Buys?
(for sure mosley-pbf would make the bigger money.)
No, stop comparing Floyd vs. JMM to Manny vs. Cotto. JMM is not even the most popular Mexican fighter.
Compare Manny's numbers he did with Cotto to Floyd vs. SSM.
Remember Team Pacquiao decided to fight Cotto instead of SSM because Cotto was a bigger draw. SSM fought on ESPN a few years ago.
Yes. Pacquiao-Clottey should be compared with Mayweather-Marquez and Mayweather-Mosley should be compared to Pacquiao-Cotto for the most accurate conclusions to this debate.
Mayweather is the bigger draw, period, and it'll show.
this is what Im saying..If May/Mosley outsells Pac/Clottey..Floyd needs to counter with "we can still keep it 50/50 if you agree with the propsed test..."
I would be shocked and impressed with Mayweather if he would go with this, of course Pac would refuse, do know why but i really hope this fight takes place with testing, so we can know once and for all that Pac is indeed clean.
Ok lets start with Floyd vs Marquez.

Mosley isnt that big a draw either, besides if the difference is huge in sales then it wouldn't matter, Mayweather would have the upper hand regardless of the excuse.
Not to mention I think Cotto is a bigger draw then Marquez any day of the week.
Clottey has never fought on a PPV as the headliner has he?
Cotto-Clottey wasn't PPV and I don't think Clottey-Corrales or Clottey-Judah were either.
Marquez had headlined 2 or 3 PPV's before the Mayweather fight:
Marquez-Pac I (not sure if this was PPV or not)
Marquez-Pac II
Marquez-Barrera
Everyone knows Shane-Floyd will outsell Pac-Clottey. Back to where they started if Pac and PBF both win, no matter what the numbers are. PBF needs to accept an even purse split and Pac needs to do the damn test. Give us the fight.
this is what Im saying..If May/Mosley outsells Pac/Clottey..Floyd needs to counter with "we can still keep it 50/50 if you agree with the propsed test..."
He actually did say "Cotto don't bring no money", or something along the lines of that after some fight I don't remember which.
It doesn't matter though, no one expects Pac/Clottey to outsell Floyd/SSM because no one outside of hardcore fans knows who Clottey is.
Floyd never said that..post me that link?..that is some BS Arum told the public and the uninformed boxing fans ran with it..
I remember vividly when Cotto sat ringside at the Gatti/Mayweather fight 5 years ago..Cotto was supposed to face the winner of that bout..and after watching the destruction of Gatti..funny that fight never happenend!
not to mention him & Arum..Floyd wanted a gaurantee, that Arum wouldnt give him..
hey.stupid.
we are referring here to the pac-clottey PPV against the pbf-mosley PPV!
not the pac-cotto ppv against the mayweather-jmm ppv.
pac is absolutely allowed or agreeable to say that he has no dance partner if mosley-pbf ppv beats pac-clottey ppv. coz clottey is not a draw.
it has no hype or whatsoever.
50-50 is still a fair share between the two.
what happened to Pac being the mega star who could sell a fight himself..
if hes so massive in the ring..he should be able to sell no matter who he faces..so if this Clottey fight fails..no, he cannot say that as an excuse..
of course the Mayweather fight will outsell more..but how much less will the Pac fight do, is where the split comes into play..but if this fight flops..that will show just how much of a big draw Pac really is..truth be told..Cotto fans contributed more to the numbers in their fight..and hate to say it..but if Floyd were facing Clottey the numbers would be better than Pac/Clottey..
why is that!.....
Put it this way, If Both Floyd and Manny are fighting the same guy, id rather see Pac fight him but in this case a Mosley vs May fight Shits on a Pac vs Clottey fight

interesting statistics you have to share....but im pretty sure PBF vs Mosely will sell more on PPV then PBF vs Marquez tbh...because not only is it a title fight but it is also a fight that alot of boxing fans have wanted to watch for a while now...
First of all, I don't think it will happen. But if it should, and both win, there's too much money for it not to happen.
Plus, I HIGHLY DOUBT it does more than a million, or as much as Pac-Cotto. Pac's people will say that the Clottey fight was like Floyd's Marquez fight, not a real comptetition, and that the Cotto fight was more of a marker.
If and when they say that. we all know its true. who outside of the hardcore boxing fans know who clottey is. This fight is for welterweight bragging rights cotto,clottey>mosley(2010),baldomir(5 f*kin years ago).
HAHA, never saw a more stupid thread than this one here, and i saw many...
its pacs choice to fight clottey, he could have fight marquez in a 3. fight at 135-140.
his own fault if mayweather jr. does better ppv numbers.
hey.stupid.

Yes i think at the time it was logical and fair........both there previous PPV pulled in over a mil......Pacs slightly more...but Floyd team countered that with the fact that Floyd outdrew Pac with 3 common opponents...so 50/50 is very fair.....
BUT
Lets say Pac v Clottey = 750K buys
AND
Mayweather v SSM = 1.5 million or over
Why wouldn't Floyd ask for more of the pie??? Pac and Arum used the Cotto numbers to get 50%......so why wouldn't Haymon and Floyd use the same business logic to get more of the pie??
The bottom line is Pac v Clottey has to be at least within 200-300K buys of Floyd v Shane.......otherwise what leverage from a "business" perspective do team Pac have to insist on a 50% split???
And lets not forget the fact the fight is in a stadium with a massive crowd should draw viewers.....actually if Pac v Clottey did less than 850-900K it would have to be considered a failure IMO
the arena doesnt draw viewers. it is still the fighters.
i really doubt it would reach 900k.
maybe a round 700 or 800 max.
it wont be a bigger fight than pac-hatton with all those hype before.
No....because Cotto is a much bigger draw than JMM....this is fact......
If Floyd fought Cotto before Pac we know it would have done over 1.5......
Why couldn't Pac even do half a mil twice with JMM????
The question is.....what happens if Floyd v Shane does a ridiculous number like 1.6 or 1.7?????
hey.stupid.

WOW thats fantastic.......is it relevant to this thread???
Wasn't it the reason floyd won't fight Cotto as HE IS NOT A DRAW? and now you're telling us it isn't so?
You sound very like floyd...contradicting all he's saying.
How many PPV buys do u think SSM v Floyd can do?????
I'm hoping both fights pull in over a million............but i don't see it happening with Pac v Clottey.....
Wasn't it the reason floyd won't fight Cotto as HE IS NOT A DRAW? and now you're telling us it isn't so?

I don't think he has ever said Cotto is not a draw......he has def said it about Mosley..........
