Do you think it would hurt the sport in the sense that it killed potentially the biggest fight in boxing since hagler/leonard???
You mean De La Hoya Mayweather, of course.
Well if Sugar Shane beats Mayweather, and Clottey beats Pacquiao, I think that could turn out to be an even bigger fight, just because noone is expecting that at all! I know I sure as hell would watch it! And youd have to be crazy not to watch it after those 2 upset the two best boxers of our generation!
You're buggin'. Mayweather and Pacquiao could both lose and it would still be ten times bigger than Clottey vs. Mosley.
Would it hurt the sport??? Would anyone even wanna see it???

A) It wouldn't be a superfight. Financially, it would hurt all parties involved with a Mayweather/Pacquiao superfight. It would garner little if any interest from the casual fans and the media.
B) Mayweather has a rematch clause with Mosley.
C) If Clottey won, I'm sure a rematch with Pac or Cotto would be a bigger fight financially than fighting Mosley.
D) I guess the correct thing to say is I would watch the fight, but to be honest, I don't give a shit about Mosley vs. Clottey. I'd still watch it because I'm a fan of the sport, but it doesn't have the intrigue of a Mayweather/Pacquiao matchup.
Real boxing fans would want to see it. Casual fans wouldn't, and they can eat a dick.
Hey, i'm a casual fan myself and i would definitely want to see that fight if it ever comes out like that.
Just imagine, p4p kings got dethroned by these two, who would't get excited?

Win or lose Mayweather/Pacquiao is still the super-fight, People would still want to see it instead of Mosley/Clottey.
To be fair it's Clottey who's the draw back in all this. Floyd or Shane v Pacquiao would be awesome, I'm not bothered which really....but I do want Shane to beat Floyd, but if he doesn't then Floyd v Pacman is a top fight if they can both put away their toy soldiers and actually negotiate a deal!
Do you think it would hurt the sport in the sense that it killed potentially the biggest fight in boxing since hagler/leonard???
No, because if Pac and Floyd both lose, it would mean that the fight that might've been wasn't the biggest since Hagler/Leonard.
you say that like its abad thing.......fukking flomo!
Are you stupid. I said on the first page of this thread I would watch it. And why do you act like being a Floyd fan is a bad thing. You are in your 30's calling peoppe "flomos". Like grow up foreal.
boxing ppvs have been selling and will continue to sell regardless there will always be a fighter or fighters in a division who will become attractions the numbers dont lie we have been hearing this boxing is dying shit for years now but it seems to me that the bigfights ppv numbers havent gone down at all over the years. i do agree that mayweather pac is the biggest fight in boxing and would be the best for the sports exposure to casual fans but to act like boxing will die because clottey fights mosley instead of mayweather pac is ****ing ridiculous.
how would it hurt boxing? hasn't Mayweather Jr. hurt boxing alone for years and its still doing good!!!
How is he hurting boxing if he's the biggest ppv draw in the sport
right now? In fact he and manny pacquiao are the only ones keeping
it mainstream.
I honestly don't see Mosley winning the fight against Mayweather Jr. therefore I'm pretty sure this fight will never happen!!! In the other hand the Pacquiao vs Clottey fight has a chance of there being an upset though i really doubt it!!! but it Clottey and Mosley were to fight I think Clottey would win a decision easily!!! Mosley is not that fast only when he has a stationary target infront of him but when opponents move he seems to have problems with them because he can't seem to land punches and hold after which is what he does best !!! therefore i would say Clottey would take this easily!!!
i think clottey would have a good chance against mosley but i dont see how he could take that fight easily with mosleys chin and workrate this would be a interesting fight even if they both lose but if they were to win this shit would be huge for boxing. mosley isnt exactly an unknown among casual fans and a win over floyd would make him a true superstar and a win over pac for clottey gets him worldwide attention. boxing doesnt live or die off of one fight or fighter.
