Years ago I would've given the edge to Broner, but I think the discipline isn't there right now. Mikey is just too hungry, too much heart. Garcia UD
Exactly. IMO, it comes down to who do you think wants it more. Garcia or Broner. And the answer is clearly Garcia based on their actions outside of the ring alone.
I saw it on, well I can't spell it out here because it always gets blocked.
So I'll spell it out differently
Boxing......News.......24
There ya go
Wtf is up with that anyways? I've noticed on "that site" that they always call it 'the scene'. Its like they are scared to mention the name.
LOL, but f#cking this.
Holy sh^t at some of you guys or B+ troll thread.
It'd be completely f#cked up if guys were just losing brain cells left & right to fulfill a contract.
Randomly boxing fans take contracts f#cking seriously lmfao. They say f#ck you boxer when a guy without any experience with this sorta legal sh^t sign a awful deal & they think Klitschko is fighting into his mid 40's just to fulfill a contract & avoid being sued.
Although to be fair Klitschko could have intentions of fighting for the duration of the contract. The thing is we don't really know wtf he's thinking, we just have an expectation that its not likely he'll fulfill it based on where he's at in his career & where he'll be at if he loses to Joshua.
Its not really that ridiculous of a thought. They could sue Wlad if he broke the contract. Thats what happens in the real world when your not posting on internet forums every second of your life. I doubt it would effect Wlad at all (getting sued) but it could still be a possibility. We don't really know the terms of the contract so I really don't know why you are so surprised. Of course their not gonna drag him in there if he doesn't wanna fight. I didn't say that. All I said is there could be some legal ramifications if he didn't fulfill it. (If he even has to in the first place.)
this :fing02:
That can't be it.
"I CAN'T WAIT for this unification to take place so we can have one less paper champ in the division! It's gonna be awesome!"
If they are a paper champ, than you most likely don't even recognize them as a champ anyways so that belt becomes kinda meaningless you know what I mean. Kinda like Adonis Stevenson right now. He's got the green belt. The most sough after belt there is but the WBC belt kinda doesn't even exist in the light-heavyweight division right now for me.
Yeah but not all the belt holders in unifications are paper champs. IDK but Thurman vs Spence with only Thurman holding the WBC/WBA and Spence holding nothing is a lot less intriguing to me than Thurman-Spence with Thurman as WBC/WBA champ and Spence as IBF champ. Even though it shouldn't be a lot less intriguing lol cuz its the fight that matters. Idk maybe I'm just being weird about it.
you haven't seen his last fight I bet you haven't since it was on HBO you little pbc fan girl. it was only the fight of the year and salido got robbed.
LOL I know dude. What a tool. THAT'S really the only things he's done? So I guess producing a Fight Of The Year doesn't count on this guys list.
producing=\=winning
stop smoking shabu dude
Dude the fight could have gone either way. Who care what is "official". What's "official" is just the opinions of three other men anyways. Whose to say they are right? I still rank Kovalev higher on the P4P list than I do Ward because I believe he won that fight. Do I have to rank Ward higher because three other men believe he won? Hell no.
If Chavez is easy for Alvarez, or rather suits his style, I could see Alvarez vs Ramirez in May 2018 for the WBO 168.
I can't see that at all. Ramirez is HUGE compared to Canelo. And Ramirez wouldn't really sell either. He isn't that big of a name at all. He's way bigger than Golovkin also. Way taller at least. He would actually be a good Light-Heavyweight. I'd like to see him move up actually. It would make that already stacked division that much better.
lol it's never been about fighting on the actual day specifically May 5th or September 16th. It's always been about fighting on the weekend of "cinco de mayo" which is not even celebrated in Mexico because it was just the victory of the battle of Puebla, or the weekend of september 16 which is the actual Mexican Independence Day. By this logic Chavez, De La Hoya, Barrera, Morales, Marquez would only fight every 5 years back in the day..
No they wouldn't. They would obviously still fight on the weekend but I just thought it would be bigger if it landed on the 5th. And I didn't know that the actual Mexican Independence Day was the 16th.
I was obviously wrong and will own up to that since the fight was announced this past weekend. I'm salty enough already lol. I just thought it would make more sense to wait cuz they were already delaying it for two years now.
Yea but I'm pretty sure Cinco de Mayo is a bigger holiday. Could be wrong though.
Redd Foxx.. I'm pretty sure the 5th is when they all get together to celebrate though. Just like we all get together on the 4th of July. More people will be together on the 5th of next May and will probably result in more people ordering the PPV as a source of entertainment. Just my guess. Makes sense to me. I wouldn't mind a big fight on the 4th of July lol. That's actually one of the few holidays I enjoy. Middle of summer, pretty much EVERYBODY is celebrating it all over the place. You can't go one block without seeing at least half of the households chilling outside. A great fight would just make it all the more better to me.
So if you and another guy were building a house together and you were responsible for 85% of the work and expertise to build that house and it brought in a 100k price, you would give your partner 33%? BULLSHYE!
The Canelo/Chavez Jr fight will bring in better numbers than a Canelo/g string fight will. Simple economics.
Like it or not, Canelo will make serious money no matter who he fights. With two PPV flops already under his belt, g string just can't say that.
Floyd took the short money vs Oscar in order to become a PPV star. Canelo took the short money vs Floyd in order to become a PPV star. Is it really too much to ask g string to take the short money (is 15 million short money?) in order to become a PPV star?
You are right. If the $15 million dollar offer to Golovkin is indeed real and not just talk from Oscar, than he would be a fool not to take it. But lets not exaggerate here. Canelo wouldn't be carrying 85%. Like I said, it takes two big names to do big numbers. Who else could Canelo (or Golovkin) fight that would bring in as many PPV numbers as their fight will? The answer is nobody. Maybe if Canelo fought Pacquiao but that won't happen as Canelo is saying he will be fighting at 160 from now on and Pacquiao was recently talking about fights at 140. Too much of a size difference. And idk dude. I don't see Canelo-Chavez Jr. doing more PPV sales than Canelo-Golovkin. The reason being because the Chavez Jr. fight just came out of the blue whereas they've been building up the GGG fight for over a year now and it will probably be another year before the fight takes place, if it even does at all.
He's coming for the food bar at the press conferences and then you can expect him to cancel the fight. Don't believe me? I seen it with my own eyes on an IFL YouTube video while promoting the Klitschko rematch LOL.
IF Saunders beats Khurtsidze, there's no way he is gonna fight Golovkin or Canelo two months later. Can't see him going right back into camp for another hard fight especially if the Khurtsidze fight is a difficult one.
Yea all those fighters would be great additions too. You could really have a Super 10 Tournament lol. If that would even work. Light-Heavyweight is by far one of my favorite divisions right now. Or at least it has the potential to be with the right match making.
Cinco is more celebrated in America than in Mexico. I live in a border state and Cinco is pretty big here, but they don't have many festivities on the actual day, they do it on the weekend.
Well don't you think it should be even the tiniest bit bigger next May since the 5th actually falls on the weekend next year?
Welcome to the forum. And Alvarez vs Ramirez have had sparring sessions before. Who is "bigger," Chavez Jr. or Ramirez? And how different is a young fresh Alvarez vs Abraham's frame size?
Think about it.
Do you see Ramirez bending to one of Canelo's catchweights or coming all the way down to 160 for the fight? Think about that cuz its NOT gonna happen. So indeed, he will be bigger.
Bigdummyshow, with you not being the sharpest knife in the drawer, this post might be a little past your comprehension level but try to keep up. Why would Canelo keep the trinket that would mandate that his opponent (g string) would get 33% of the purse when it's Canelo that brings the financial clout to this fight? Why not trash the trinket, make the fight later and have the purses reflect both fighters drawing power? Using this scenario $15 million is actually over paying g string.
Btw, did you ever come up with the link that backs up your post when you accused Andre Ward of being a wife beater? Keeping in mind that only a low life scum bag c0cksukker would accuse Ward (or anyone else) of being a wife beater with ZERO back up. I'd hate to think you're the type low life scum bag c0cksukker that would do something like that. I'd hate to think you pulled it out of your arse to fit your agenda so please post that link
33% sounds pretty fair to me. Canelo might sell more PPV's than Golovkin but his numbers have been on a decline lately. GGG is the only name around his weight division that will boost those numbers and you surely have to acknowledge that fact. Canelo is probably the only name that will make GGG's sell more than what their doing right now also. If they want their PPV's to increase than that is the fight that will make it happen.
No. Just no, everything about this is just wrong. No one cares if it lands on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday; Cinco de Mayo is just an excuse to get together and throw a party on the weekend.
I'm sure Oscar De La Hoya and most other promoters would disagree. More families will be getting together and getting drunk that weekend to celebrate and I'm sure many will order the fight as a source of entertainment to please their guests.
Lol you're putting this fight on a pedestal like it's gonna be some war. It's gonna be a boxing lesson given out by Canelo. This fight can happen on a Thursday.
How exactly am I doing that? All I pretty much said was it would most likely generate more money if it took place next May.
Don't get all upset 2017er.
Since you are apparently new to boxing you should know multiple abc f#ckery has been going on for the last 4 decades & change at an impressive rate. Nothing is changing anytime soon.
Its best to not even give a f#ck about who has what title & when they will have to defend it or be stripped or what caliber a championship they hold or how anyone can unify all the titles & keep them for any length of time without fighting undeserving bs mandatory's all the time & about 50 other bs things involved with abc groups.
Just concern yourself with who's the best in the division & consider that guy the champ & neither of these mfers is THE CHAMP so no one should give a f#ck about whatever bs "title" will or won't be on the line.
I didn't mean to come off as a d1ck but it just sounded like you were being patronizing for no particular reason. I was just wondering because it was something the WBA announced within the past year so its not as if it was old news. Also, I may be new to this site but it doesn't mean that I just started watching boxing yesterday. I've been a long time lurker on this forum but just never made an account and just decided to do it one day. I am quite familiar with the regular poster on this site even though they might not be with me.
Its so cute when 2017ers come in here trying to make sense of abc group title stuff.
Whatever dude it was just a simple question. I recall the WBA saying they are eliminating titles and thats why they were enforcing more mandatories than usual. Was just wondering if anybody heard anything from the WBA president or anything on the situation. I figured somebody who is on boxing forums 24/7 365 ie. ,you, would maybe have an answer.
The WBA did say that they were eliminating their regular and interim belts from all divisions which is why they were so eager to make the GGG-Jacobs fight, or so they claimed. So even though the regular title got eliminated after that fight, the WBA still had an interim title which N'dam won off Blanco at the end of last year. Now it seems that interim title will become a regular title, which will become a super title once the winner of Murata-N'dam fights the real WBA champion.
It would have been easier had they made Jacobs face N'dam, then have the winner face GGG but the WBA chose not to do this so it is really confusing. Hopefully this is the last time we will see the WBA regualr title.
Probably because there is more sanctioning money in the two GGG fights.
N oh I see now. Thanks for the answer. Instead of eliminating the other belts outright, they are ordering mandatory "unifications" of their belts to cash in on the sanctioning fees for all the fights. You add up all the "unifications" in each division and that come out to A LOT of money. After thats all that matters tho them... MONEY.
Wtf since when is Fury not with Warren anymore? Thought Frank was just talking about puttin Tyson on the Saunders-Khurtsidze card and gettin Hughie that Parker fight still.
Frank has never been Fury's promoter.. Hennessy promotions promoted Fury.
Oh yea haha. In the Warren interviews I've always watched, he talks about Tyson like he's his fighter. Hughie is with Warren right?
Do you know what happened between Tyson and Hennessy?
It's silly yes it is.
The only thing I can think of is, after Jacobs lost to Golovkin, since Golovkin is the Super WBA Middleweight Champion that he can't be both the Super and Regular Champion.
So the WBA "Regular" belt became vacant for the next top two contenders Murata and N'Dam.
That's the only thing I can think of.
But this Super Champion and Regular Champion stuff is dumb, pretty stupid.
There should just be one champion. But these sanctioning bodies always look for new ways to money grab.
I don't recall anything about eliminating that bogus Regular title. But if anyone has seen an article on it, then yes please share your info.
I thought it was the "regular" belt that whey were trying to eliminate. Do you know what other belts the WBA was trying to eliminate? Because I know they got the "interim" belt "champion" also.
