'Que onda?' = 'what up?'
Used mostly when a question is asked, and you don't quite hear or understand the question correctly.
Example:
Q: Que hases guey!?
A: Que onda?
--------
Q: What ya doin' foo?
A: What up?
Yes, I know the meaning of "qué onda", I forgot to mention I've been living in Mexico for 12 years now. But is that what he said?
If he really said so, it was more like a "what do I do now?" thing.
BTW, did he also call the coach "padre"?
because only mexicans speak mexican :nonono:
I believed that to be so. If I wanted to know something about Puerto Rican Spanish, I would ask... you guessed it right, a Puerto Rican. So?
good to know the media around me doesn't know what they see when they see Rigondeaux either.
I don't know how that surprises you. It should have been a UD, there is no way Córdoba won that fight.
Rigondeaux eased up on Córdoba after he KD Córdoba, yes, it's a mystery why. He danced around the ring after Córdoba KD him, yes, but even so he still hit Córdoba a few more times and Córdoba never touched him again.
March 2011 no rep & red,I can see why,are U like 10??
 You are talking about my age and you are taking rep and registration date here seriously? Dude, do me a favor.
It's funny how you guys are barely finding this out. I've been saying this allllllll along. :D
I had a different opinion before this fight. The signs were there, but I thought he would work to fix them. Right now he's the fighter we all saw on Saturday night, it was not a night off.
rigo is a ko waiting to happen....i favor even vasquez jr to beat him...the man got dropped by a jab...and it was'nt becuase he was just off balanced like clottey was vs cotto(altho that kd was legit)......
:lame:
Go back to learn about boxing.
cuz he ran for his life when he got popped in the mouth. then cordoba fought his way back into the fight and made it a legit split decision, anyone could have won that fight and it wouldn't be considered a robbery
that was the death of his chances against all the big dogs from 118-130 RIGHT NOW. If the fights were to happen today, which is what we're talking about. He didn't say, in a year, or in 2 years.
Legit split?? Anyone could have won that fight?? I'm sure you didn't watch that fight. Fact.
He needed that loss imo.He needs to work on his defense.Maybe now he can train properly & stop acting like he was God's gift to that island.BTW,I think Gamboa's dose of reality isn't too far off either.
Ahh, you think, right... Well, because Gamboa acts like Juanma all the time, right? He balloons between fights, thinks he's the best ever in Cuba, has wars of words with other Cuban fighters, etc...
And of course, Gamboa hasn't improved anything! He has looked worse in every fight.
And yet you think... I think you're talking out of your ass.
Not sure, but imo,it's coming. Is that really the question though??Look at Berto & Juanma, they got theirs from the place least expected.
I knew you were talking out of your ass. Comparing Gamboa to Juanma and Berto, as if it were some magic formula that if those two lost, Gamboa must follow suit.
Ortiz and Salido were not expected to give hell... yeah, only by those who know nothing about boxing.
I think Salido would give Mike a good run for his money. He has the experience and strength. García should try to box Salido, otherwise, Salido by TKO.
damn panties all up in a bunch
who said Casey had a shot? name names

He will fight someone else before Salido, you think Salido isn't going to make some money?
He's the champ now, I see him having two defenses in Mexico, winnable fights then challenge Gamboa again for some real money.
I don't think JuanMa will fight Salido again as champ. I think Gamboa beats Salido, then they feed JuanMa to Gamboa.
Yes, I'm sure Salido wants to make some money, but Juanma wants a direct rematch, something stupid. If it's a direct rematch, Salido by KO again.
I was never high on JuanMa because of his personality, arrogance and poor technique. Maybe he'll come back better, but I wouldn't bet on it. He doesn't have the humility and the ability to change. He bought his own hype. Maybe this way, we can get a greater emphasis on fighters from the island
You hit the nail.
When I rewatched this fight, I noticed how everyone was saying he was dominating this fight at the beginning, not true.
JuanMa was ahead on the score cards but he shouldn't have been. He was getting tagged with big shots, didn't really land anything of significance against Salido and then finally the knock down came.
I don't think this fight was as close as people and the announcers were making it to be. If you watch the fight closely,Salido was imposing his will on JuanMa slowly but surely.
JuanMa can't stop the right hand and this wasn't the first time it happened with him. He has some serious fundamental flaws and I don't know if they can be fixed. He needs to go back to the drawing board and start all over in his approach.
Right on point.
Actually, Saliod didn't prepare well for that fight. He has said it on a few occasions and his weight showed.
I think the problem with JuanMa is that many saw this coming for a long time. His defense has been terrible for a long time and it was just a matter of time before a puncher like Salido knocked him out.
Can JuanMa learn to defend at this stage of his career? I think that is the question. I believe he needs to change trainers, not because he has bad ones but because he needs a new voice, a new start.
His defense is so bad and his chin doesn't stand up to his style. That is the problem.
His trainer said otherwise.
I think the loss was the best thing for Lopez,he was getting careless & slugging too much instead of being patient & using his skill to set up his ko's.He has 1st class skill, but considered himself too big & powerful, well he isn't & know he knows that.I bet he wins the rematch easily & is a better fighter for it.
He loses the rematch easily because he simply doesn't have the tools. He's not the fighter we all thought he was. He's a B- fighter. Simple as that.
so
LOL
wait
LOL
you use the quote of a guy named......IRISH HITMAN......as evidence that people were picking Casey, an Irishman himself mind you, to upset Rigon?
then back it with Any Craic Lad who location is.......IRELAND?
really?
I quoted ONE comment, and I posted THREE threads where people here were saying Casey had a chance, you asked me for it, why dismiss it?
The fact that Rigondeaux let up on Córdoba doesn't mean Córdoba had any more momentum than his KD of Rigondeaux.
Do you know anything about Rigondeaux's work ethics that makes you think he lacks or doesn't take it seriously? Because I don't think this guy has ever shown out of training, or overweight, etc.
He should really get another trainer, for he has been in too many life&death situations which he shouldn't have been in. He needs to improve on his defence and tactics. I believe this will only make him better, this defeat. Good luck Juanma and don't give up! I am looking forward to see you beat up this bum Salido in the rematch.:boxing:
So Salido is a bum?? What makes you think so?
Will you still say he's a bum when he steamrolls Juanma again in the rematch?
Rigondeaux eats up Salido.
People are still talking **** about the Córdoba fight, that it was close and "life and death" :D wow.
Walt, the fight with Córdoba is there in Youtube, please, show how it was "life and death".
Not only Gamboa. Imagine Donaire in there with that left hook. He just need to regroup. I don't think an immediate Salido rematch in short time frame is good for Juanma. It would be really hard for him to climb out of it once he loses in the rematch.
Even if it were not the end for him as a fighter, the fans would consider him done and he would fade away. He should fight someone else before Salido.
He's not a BUM, but he's not elite either. He's just a strong, durable guy who got a bit lucky against Juanma. He simply is good at exploiting the weaknesses of top level guys like Gamboa and Juanma, but Yuriorkis wouldn't let him take advantage of that.:boxing: :biggthump
Salido lost a UD vs. Juan Manuel Márquez, winning at least 3 rounds. I don't think he got lucky against López.
I think we should accept López is not what many of us thought he was. And he hasn't been for many fights now.
I was talking about how you said the people picking those guys were the same people picking Casey to upset riggo. Lulz.
You're koo koo.
At least you finally let the truth out instead of skirting around what you wanted to say. An unproven guy just might be able to beat a lot of top fighters from 118-130 based on his potential and talent. That's true. He definitely is talented. Does that feel better than making wild allegations, denying the truth, and denying the truth?
I think he's too inconsistent and hasn't proven himself to be able to handle adversity well.
Bip whoop. Sorry you got your feelings hurt.
He's not inconsistent at all, you are talking only 1 fight here, yet you call the man inconsistent. How so? His 7th pro fight!
Amateur is a different sport only when it suits you. Now you're gonna say he had over 400 amateur bouts.
For ANY fighter to clearly defeat a vet like Córdoba in his 7th pro fight is quite an achievement. If someone doesn't see it that way, he's simply hating.
well judging by how offended you are at the thought that
1. people thought the Cordoba fight was close even though Rigondeauz for the most part was sporadic all night allowing Cordoba to gain momentum
2. people think that certain fighters could beat Rigondeaux even though certain styles and fight plans can do well against him
I think you questioning other people's opinions is very laughable
The only momentum Córdoba had was one. Care to mention another?
And who are u exactly??Is there a need to be so defensive & attack me for my opinion??Gamboa has been wild & reckless many times & has been dropped for it boy.An opinion is just that.A simple I don't agree would do fine.Ignore me,just like I wanna ignore U,thanks.
An out of the ass opinion is just that, out of the ass.
I've seen some people have the nerve to call Salido a "bum," even after he beat Lopez. I estimate that 20-30% of the posters on Boxingscene actually know something about boxing. Those that call Orlando a "bum" are clearly not in that select group.
Those are the Boxrec warriors. "Ah, Salido has lost 11 times... BUMMMMMM" They are retards.
