Doesnt even matter.
The fact that there is even a comparison between such a large country(Mexico 115 million) and a small commonwealth(4 million) shows the great accomplishment of Puerto Rico.
...as for the Margarito thing...your entitled to your opinion. Im not debating it. But if the majority means anything, the polls on this site and pretty much every boxing site I have visited believe other wise. That horse is dead and the votes have been in for years.
I thought people had forgot about this. I always thought he quit and should have re matched Yordan......But I guess it could have been worse (he could have taken a knee) But quitting is acceptable.
On another note Yordan was catching him good with some left hooks.....hmmm doesnt Floyd have a pretty respectable left hook?
Im sorry guys but in the world of boxing where one loss means a giant loss of stature and money would you continue fighting after getting cut and or having a broken nose from a headbutt? You motherfukers call into work if you get the sniffles but a boxer who is a million times tougher then any one of you and u think you can question their courage in the ring? get the fuk outta here with that sheeet!!! A bunch of out of shape non athlete retards calling Robert Guerrero and Mikey garcia quitters is the stupiest thing ever. Go back to eating potato chips on your fuking couch retards!!!
When you have guys in here with Avatars of Cheaters honoring them, others slamming and emasculating boxers for taking a knee, still others with Sigs that read, "a Mexican with rather die on his feet than live on his knees".
I would say its warranted retaliation to mock the same hypocrites and show them the reality of their false beliefs.
Though with their lack of intellect or flags blinding their eyes. Most seem not to see the mirror, only the glass to the other side.
Im attacking them just the same im Mexican American and the whole die on you feet bullsheet is idiotic.
But don't fight stupidity with stupidity just call them out on it.
Some believe that we should handle it the Martin L. King would.....others the way Malcolm X would.
Im with Malcolm. By any means Necessary.
With alot of these guys. Try the intellectual approach and it goes right over their heads.
Attack them on their ignorant level and you can read the butthurt between the lines of their primitive responses.
Fuck the Cheaters!!!
I want to give Mosley respect. But it's hard seeing as how he himself is a cheating Scumbag!!!
You should be banned for you avatar:thumbsdow
Yes Flaw but Mosley isn't any better. All praise goes to Nazim.
Caught two cheating frauds. Triniwraps and Margacheato.
Your ridiculous comparing Trinidad to Margarito!
Mosley ADMITTED he used and came clean.
Trinidad was never suspended or charged with anything which is also the defense of Manny Pacquiao. If Pac is innocent then so is Trinidad.
Not to mention that in the last 10 years SO MANY BOXERS HAVE BEEN MADE TO REWRAP including Hoya.
It was close but he won. No one had Maidana winning - that is important. The ringside/studio commentators in the US and UK streams, the judges . I had Floyd 7-5 up - a very close fight.
Landed more and at double the percentage so I cant see how he can be deemed to have lost.
Bias is exactly what all the buzz is about.
Mayweather won this fight hands down. But if I was him I'd give the rematch and box. Make a lot more money, give a deserving Chino a lot more money and shut up the haters because the critics already know Mayweather won.
It is actually fine to admit that another opponent took you off your game. Maidana is a pressure fighter and a good puncher. Respect the game and respect your opponent.
Now on the other hand to say "I brawled because I wanted to give the fan what they wanted," while only a day earlier you were trying to take away Maidana's Everlast MX gloves is insulting to my ears and fans. He essentially tried to overrule NSAC and threatened to quit the fight over retail Everlast gloves that many boxers use because "safety comes first." (cancelling a fight isn't exactly fan friendly). But then he gets caught in a dog fight... then its I did it for the fans.
There is absolutely no integrity there. The story of this fight after this fight was: Floyd was in a highly competitive match with Maidana. Why? Was Maidana a better fighter then people expected? Is Floyd a little bit older and more overrated then people expected. Or is it styles makes fights and Maidana has a difficult style to predict, counter, etc.
What are you thoughts on Floyd supposedly choosing to "fight for the fans."
I believe he did stand and trade to make it exciting. He has said he will do it before and has done it. Guerrero was saying no way he stands in front of me, Floyd said he would and he did....the glove thing is just ridiculous, the commission didn't accept them for a reason...dead subject.
Love these comments. I feel like Lisa Simpson.lmao can't wait till rematch is made and Floyd blows him out. I will repost thread. I really like Chino and I'm glad he will get more money and his rematch.
I thought the 114-114 reflected the most accurate score only because the fight was closer than the other two judges had it.
But no doubt Mayweather won this fight.
Is it so hard to believe that he did something he rarely does?....r
Let's at least keep the hate evenly distributed...
Remember Floyd was the "runner"... But all of a sudden he is stuck like a fly in a web on the ropes :spankme::arabia: think!
so people still doesn't give chino credit for nothing uh?
He gets credit but it's not his fault Floyd made it interesting.
YOU NEVER KNOW! The stuff after the fight with Schaefer making the rematch instantly...it looked a bit STAGED to be honest with you. Mayweather don't have an opponent that he can do a big PPV with BESIDES a rematch with Maidana.
But that is disrespectful to Maidana to say "Floyd Made It Interesting"...Maidana fought his ass off, how about the fact that Maidana has just improved as a fighter since the Alexander fight and gave Mayweather a TOUGH FIGHT.
No Excuses Needed, Make The Rematch And Leave No Room For Controversy This Time (EITHER FIGHTER)! I give respect to BOTH FIGHTERS!
Both get respect I agree. But seriously Shaefer yells rematch right after a fight..to a " threat " at that! C'mon!
My thoughts exactly. hell i wouldn't be surprised if they try to manufacture a trilogy similar to pac-marquez. Floyd knows he needs an opponent who would be reminded as having his number with him always overcoming adversity. Its just WWE tactics.
Seriously, why didn't he just box , he wanted to make it close.
You are saying Mayweather could have won much easier but he let Maidana do well for the sake of a rematch. Your theory is garbage and insulting to Maidana. Mayweather did his very best because he had to.
Yeah okay..if no rematch happens your right. But it will and it will be. Blow out.
That was my thought when I saw the post fight interview. Seemed like it the whole rematch announcement was not really organic, almost rehearsed. I think Mayweather backed into the ropes and stood in the pocket more than usual. I think he wanted to give the fans a much more exciting fight, which is admirable.
I don't want to take anything away from Maidana who stuck to his game plan and did what he needed to do to make it a tough fight. Maidana did well in fighting against the type of fight Mayweather fought. It was close but I see a rematch being a much more decisive victory for Floyd, similar to the Jose Luis Castillo rematch.
The only person out there to fight is Pac and that's why Floyd did what he had to do.
A dude who gets freaked out by taking punishment.......then ends up willingly taking punishment for the fans?
Why didn't he take punishment against Guerrero and Canelo?
Very simple. He still had possible future opponents during those fights. He said he would stand right in front of Guerrero and he did. Thanks for bringing up Canelo because Floyd moved all over the place with Canelo, he boxed and moved, if he does that with Chino it's an easy win..and boring...no rematch.:soapbox:
Only the reds are claiming Floyd won it seems
You lot make me sick, you're a stain on this planet
The reds...lol
Everyone on the planet that is respected in boxing is in the red..:trink26:
Oh really please compare....
Been saying this for a while now..
Just picture Floyd signing to fight Algieri or Rios. He would have been a laughing stock of the game, even his fans could not justify these two.
Now have Pac fight Canelo or Maidana....and whew!!! Great fights
Remember Floyd will not fight young strong real threats. Only pay offs and cherry picks.
With that guy on you're Avi I wouldn't talk about pay offs and cherry picks.
Floyd's competition recently has blown away Pacs.
Timothy Bradley Jr (Win for Win) is greater than any Mayweather opponent.
Mayweather has never beat one prime black fighter in his career.
OMG lol
This is one of those sig. Saving worthy posts, to bad for you I don't do that...
Good stuff is that you Kevin hart? Chappelle?
I know you guys are boxing fans!
you've derailed your own thread with your butthurt
deal with it, Cotto didn't do enough to command a Floyd rematch
he had a few little moments in a very decisive loss
nothing he can do legitimately earns him a Floyd rematch
Floyd will give him one if Sergio is so old he fails and loses the MW title
but your boy was outboxed thoroughly by Floyd, rematch is pointless
DEAL WITH IT
Yeah uhhh derailed.. Manny is the bull terrier Dog in boxing.
If u watch the version they giving on Showtime, those commentators had Floyd's balls slapping their chins all night. HBO was more fair IMO. Floyd def won, idk who thinks he didn't. Close rds though but he was winning them regardless of how close they were.
Those chins had dents and bruises like a jack hammer jab after 12 rounds.
Also in Floyd's opinion. He said it was his toughest fight to date as well. Before that he credited Emmanuel Agustus as his toughest fight, coincidentally EA also busted up his nose. It seems like if you can make Floyd bleed he gives you props. Offensively that wasn't Floyd's best fight as far as connecting goes. Above average accuracy like always but even for Floyd they were low.
Agreed ... Floyd is so good that if you win a round you get props...but the nose thing is good aesthetics as well.
To be fair they made millions of retards think the ODLH fight was close, so they owe Floyd a couple.
Probably down to Floyd apologising to Merchant pre fight for the Ortiz outburst. Larry very nice to Fllyd in the commentating of this one.
Your confusing the HBO commentary with Showtimes.
As much as I hate to say this, HBO was more definitely more fair, Showtime was a joke.
Pac fan making a point.
Cotto gave Floyd a bloody nose...big deal, Floyd owned him 9-3
your boy got rolled bitch, deal with it
he bloodied Floyd's nose, that's all
Floyd's aged and lost a step, it showed in that fight
slowpoke Cotto had no business landing any combos on Floyd
2-3 rds he got him on the ropes and flurried, whoopty doo
Cotto's shot and Floyd doesn't owe him a rematch
and if Cotto beats Martinez, it's only because Martinez was shot worse
nobody mentioned Pac but you, dumbass
the point is in fact, going over your head
Cotto can't claim a rematch for scattered moments in rds
he got beaten comprehensively and would again in a rematch
the fight wasn't close, despite his idiot fans wanting to believe it was
he got in some flurries on the ropes, and that dreaded bloody nose
he overperformed, or maybe Floyd underperformed
due to this, people delude themselves into ignoring reality
Cotto was clearly bested and there's no point to a rematch
you are a fucking idiot, Cotto can't compete with Floyd
who cares? Martinez is gonna KO and retire shot Cotto
thread's not about him, it's about Cotto getting murked
you've derailed your own thread with your butthurt
deal with it, Cotto didn't do enough to command a Floyd rematch
he had a few little moments in a very decisive loss
nothing he can do legitimately earns him a Floyd rematch
Floyd will give him one if Sergio is so old he fails and loses the MW title
but your boy was outboxed thoroughly by Floyd, rematch is pointless
DEAL WITH IT
thanks for solidifying the point
Cotto won a rd or 2 and drew a little blood
the fans cheered when he did something
but he lost straight up and it wasn't close
he didn't lie down like he was supposed to, so he got brownie points
it's been 2 yrs and you're still venting
Opening thread.
First let me start off by saying Floyd won...period.
Wasn't a close fight on points but a close fight in rounds.
Many close rounds. Anyone that thinks Cotto doesn't deserve a rematch is crazy...especially if he beats Martinez...( not likely)
Side note: the commentating was probably top 3 worst commentating ever....they gave Cotto absolutely no respect and over embellished Floyd's ....everything..lol
Commentating is comical . Please take the time to listen to these guys ...it's sheer sexual eloquence. They sucked Floyd off in front of millions...
Ex. " oh Cotto lands the left hook, but that didn't hurt him, he is just great "..lol
It was "competitive" at times but it was still a blowout. Cotto doesn't deserve a rematch even if he beats Sergio. He could fight Canelo after and the best of the two losers I suppose could have another crack at him.
I still would rather see Sergio vs Floyd if he looks even remotely okay...
I always find it a little weird how fans want Floyd to fight a bigger Sergio but think it's outrageous for Pac to fight a bigger Canelo. But Floyd can also fight Pac..
And Cotto will have fought all three...lol and maybe all four
yea...except the fight was on HBO
It sounds like both versions are the opposite :lol1:
You could be right. Even thought I saw the fight on HBO I don't remember the commentating but don't doubt it....what I'm absolutely sure of , is what I saw and heard a half hour ago...lol
The commentary in question was originally on boxnation's broadcast of the fight with Bob Sheridan and some other guy. It's the same commentary that Showtime uses for their replay of the fight. It was god awful. It was as if they had prepared to commentate a fight they expected Floyd to completely dominate. It almost put HBO's pachugging to shame. HBO's commentary for this fight was much better than they normally do. Some say it was a little too pro Cotto, though.
Floyd won the fight but Cotto put hurt on him almost every round. Even if he struggled from time to time I still think its one of Floyd's best performances, because he was forced to bring the A game.
Exactly right!
I thought Cotto was taking it to Floyd and making Floyd step his game up. Floyd had to up his game to win , which he respectfully did... Damn entertaining fight.
