Floyd as skillfull as he is didnt bring it against maidana and got beaten and manhandled, this myth about cleaner punches is just simply a myth, punches catch floyd a whole lot more than you think... he turns with the punch alot so it looks like it doesnt hit but it hits, not to mention the lack of scoring on them deadly body punches maidana was landing damn!. i understand he is the champ and u usually have to win more convincingly than that to win the title, but if this was any other fight on friday night fights or wateva maidana would of taken it.
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion but saying that Floyd lost? Please... I honestly don't like him, and that's about how he runs his mouth but put that aside and i respect him as a very skilled counter puncher. The fight was close and i scored it 7-5 in Floyd's favour. Why? Because i and so many others saw Mayweather take control in the sixth round and won the championship rounds as well. Mayweather kept his composure and landed the cleaner, more effective blows. Maidana was affected by them.
Maidana was being wild and badly wanted to win, not only that, he tried so hard but couldn't get him out of there and gassed out to the point where he could barely catch Mayweather with anything as Floyd then turned him. Had Floyd applied that strategy from the beginning then it would have been a boring, one sided fight. Maidana is easy to hit, easy to turn, easy to counter and easy to hurt.
Floyd didn't throw many punches, he never does. Instead he thinks and picks his shots and again with success. He's also a slow starter which is why Maidana took the first few rounds. But as to who won the fight and who's the better fighter? There's clearly no debate about that... Not that i don't respect Maidana. It's just that styles make fights. A guy like Maidana would easily be picked apart by fighters with good hand speed and foot movement. Think of the likes like Bradley, Khan, Pacquaio. Maidana is Brandon Rios but not as strong a puncher nor as tough a dude. Simple as that. Maidana can crack but he's no future HOF quality type of fighter.

Not even a Mike Tyson Punch-Out game gets it that wrong.

It was close but he won. No one had Maidana winning - that is important. The ringside/studio commentators in the US and UK streams, the judges . I had Floyd 7-5 up - a very close fight.
Landed more and at double the percentage so I cant see how he can be deemed to have lost.
exactly. People saying floyd lost are mostly people who dont like floyd. All the boxing media had floyd winning a close fight. Max Kellerman, Steve Kim, Kevin Iole, Dan Rafael, all three showtime broadcasters, UK broadcasters, and the actual judges had floyd winning.
Nah man i just rewatched the fight with a buddy and the best he could score it was a draw for Mayweather and being extremely generous In any close rounds. I had It 8-4 maidana or at the very least 7-5 maidana. Floyd just didn't land cleanly enough as often as he should have and he is finally starting to slow down. Maidana won That fight Idc what nobody says even floyd knew right before the winner was announced he put up his hands for a half a second then put them back down as he wasn't sure of the outcome

Clear as day. Maidana won this. Close, but he won it.
Floyd looks even shook in there.
Your post looks just like Sam Peters face
See now if those 2 judges were watching the right fight, this fight would have been either a draw or have either Maidana/Floyd winning by 7-5.

I'm ok with 7-5 Floyd. I can't see 7-5 chino though. Nonetheless kudos to him
Yea Floyd winning 4-2 in the first 6 is BS IMO. I had maidana up 4-2 in the first 6 rds.

maidana didnt do enough to win
he won 4 rounds max
you cant fight one way for 12 rounds against floyd
also he came in way to heavy
did you even watch the fight?
chino VERY clearly won 5 of the first 6 rounds and round 8
stop the trolling you prick
agree with ts, sadly the bias of showtime who rely on floyds ppv numbers and vegas will never allow floyd to lose, these retarded floyd fans will keep trying to twist the truth and you see it on this thread
By your admission, Maidana was doing very well during the first 6 rounds, right? The main issue was how they scored the first 6 rounds. 2 of 3 judges thought that Floyd was winning by 4-2. JOKE!
One judge was fair and had it 4-2 for Maidana. What did you have? Even the Showtime guys were disgusted at the scores announced and thought that 11-114 was the better score. Even with those pathetic scoreing, 2 of 3 judges had it 4-2 Floyd in the last 6 rounds.
BTW: Show box is NOT accurate and numbers don't always give you a picture of the story.

Rewatch the fight. From round 6 - 12 maidana wasn't nearly as effective and mayweather was scoring the more effective, cleaner shots. Remember mayweather landed more punches overall (not by much but still) with 50+% accuracy according to sho box.

i dont think he did enough to win, it was mad close but i think maidana busted him up more if were talking "effective" punches, just look at their faces after the fight, floyd was alot worse off
Floyd's face wasn't marked up. He had a cut from a headbutt, but he looked the same as he usually does. Maidana applied great infighting pressure, but besides the few body punches that he landed, he wasn't all that effective at landing consistently. Maidana controlled half of the fight with his workrate on the inside, but Floyd landed the better and cleaner punches. Whether in his prime or now, Floyd has always had trouble against fighters who applies constant pressure on the inside, fighters who can use their size and weight to push him where they want to push him, he has never been comfortable in those type of fights.

Good fooking god. Thats one of the worst yet.:pat:
I like to see the scores of those that you say that Floyd won. Floyd should have been losing after 6 rounds yet the Showtime and 2 of 3 judges had Floyd winning. That is not right.
Go check out the judge that had it 114-114. He had Maidana ahead by a score of 4-2. If you are objective. You would have Maidana ahead after 6 by at least 4-2. So if that is the case, I didn't see Floyd doing a 5-1 or 6-0 with the last 6 rounds.
Again Maidana could have done just as good in the final 6 rounds as he did in the first 6 and lost the fight 8-4 according to Showtime and 2 judges. They were wrong and if you guys are objective about it, its time to own up.
Note that Showtime had it close at the end.

Put it like this.
If Maidana would have scored a Knock down or atlest won 2 more rounds, than yes he would have beat Floyd Mayweather.
Nothing wrong with that. To think if he could have scored a KD, and he would have beat the sports number 1 p4p
With those judges last night, Maidana had no chance unless he KOed Floyd. We all know that due to being forced to wear non-puncher gloves, Maidana would have a hard time doing that.
