For the first time in his career I thought Floyd looked old. This fight was more about what Floyd didn't do than what Maidana did. Floyd looked sluggish, he stood flat footed more than I've ever seen and his reaction time was a bit slower. He also liked tired as hell mid way through the fight.
Yeah, even a prime Floyd would have had all he could handle with a prime, aggressive, puncher like Maidana but he also would have defeated him more easily.
Floyd rarely stayed against the Ropes against Canelo, he fought the majority of that fight on his toes and rarely laid on the ropes. He didn't fight much better than Broner. All you diehard Floyd fans got to realize if he keeps fighting he will eventually lose.
Who wouldnt? Sure Floyd is getting older and anyone who keeps aging and continues to fight will eventually get beat. But I still think he has got a while to go before he slips that bad. He has shown signs of age but his pure skill and ring intelligence have carried him far, even since the Cotto fight when he first started showing signs of aging. After last night's performance facing an unpredictable, fearless, and relentless young challenger, he still showed that he is able to adapt to any type of fight and pull of the W, which is what made him so good to begin with. I honestly think Floyd is one of the few fighters out there who will realize the time to retire before he ends up getting beat.
It's the USA, what do you expect? When the media force feeds racism stories to the citizens on a constant basis, its normal that race will always be on someone's mind. I remember when they asked Morgan Freeman what he thought the best solution was to stop racism and he said "Stop talking about it", which couldnt be more true. I looked online the next day and saw like seven different articles bashing him and saying he was insensitive. Liberals are some of the most horrible, insufferable people in the US and they are the ones that are constantly race baiting. Get rid of the liberal mainstream media or reform it to the point where news is being reported by credible journalists, and the problem will likely go away, or at least wont be so big as it is today.
I want them to finally make this sh*t and then Manny needs to just go for broke from the opening bell. Consequences be damned. Floyd don't have no f**king power. Just walk through his ass and fire off like a damn uzi. Win or lose go out guns blazing. No trying to box him like he did Bam Bam and Timmy.
Thats what I always worried about from the get go. About 5 years ago (when Floyd seemed to be rightfully ducking Manny), I had the fear that if it ever did happen, Manny would show too much respect and start off too slow and try to box with Floyd. Then or today, the only way Pac would be able to take this is to just use his speed and combos to completely overwhelm him. After seeing Floyd fight for years now, I dont even see this approach being too successful. Floyd has an uncanny ability to completely frustrate people out of their game plan and take control of any fight. Its kind of irrelevant though; this is gonna be remembered in history as the biggest "what if" fight because it is more obvious than now that it will never happen. Floyd clearly could care less how many people still have interest in this fight.
he'll do just fine. He has got a large enough following and he is going to win this fight so I think that the amount of love he has on him going into this fight is irrelevant, enough people will be all over his nuts whenever he gets the W.
The only two worth buying on PPV in recent memory that I can think of are the Cotto and Alvarez fights. Otherwise, I would just watch them online the next day, or go to a bar showing it for free, or a house party where the host has ordered it.
Unfortunately that would require Floyd to not be completely terrified of Pacquiao
lol. Why the **** would floyd be afraid of Pacroid's weathered ass? 3-4 years ago, you could say that Floyd had a reason to duck Pacquiao and most people would agree. If he is avoiding him at this point, it is only because giving Pac a fight at this stage would be a setback.
A slower Manny is still faster and more effective than pretty much any other 140-147 fighter that's remotely willing to fight him, and you're saying he should hang them up? This forum needs more thinkers.
No, what this forum needs is less delusional Pactards such as yourself. Just because he is still quick doesnt mean he can beat the rest of the 140-147ers. His speed is obviously fading, so are his reflexes and his chin. His defense is just as shitty now as it ever was. If they matched him up with Provodnikov, he would be snoozing on the floor like in the 4th JMM fight. Not saying Pacman is absolute sh*t but his skills are fading and he has noone else to face at this point, except Mayweather which will not happen. As long as he stays with Arum, he will be matched up with either Bradley or JMM, one of whom he has already fought 4 times and the other no one even cares to see. Why should he continue?
Glad Pac got the win that he had deserved in the first fight. With that said, he needs to go ahead and retire. He is obviously slower and the only fights he really has as long as he stays with Top Rank is a rubber match with Bradley or a pointless 5th fight with JMM. If the fight ever got made (which it wont), Pac would get destroyed by Mayweather. Now that he got the win he deserved over Bradley, he should just hang em up.
Delusional. In AB's mind he's a Rolls Royce; in reality he's a used Toyota Corolla on daytons. And maybe has a spoiler. On a good day.
Attached with duct tape, of course.
Floyd will win this but I dont think it is gonna be that one sided. I saw Cotto giving Floyd some problems and that was like two years ago. I think its only safe to bet that his reaction time may have slowed down even more since then and I can see Alvarez giving him problems as well. But at the end of the day, Floyd still takes this one easily.
why do you wish for a pac vs provo and already ruled out pac vs floyd?
anything can still happen and most boxing fans wish for pac vs floyd...
i am sure floyd can see all the weaknesses you saw in pac in his tim 2 fight...
or perhaps you may school floyd and convince him to take the fight?
Apparently Pactards cannot read either. I said if they were to fight, Provo would lay his ass out, never said I wanted to see the fight though; I said Pac should reture.
Floyd has made it clear he will not fight Pac as long as he is with Arum and it seems very clear that Pac has no intention of leaving Arum, hence my opinion the fight will never happen. :biggthump
