How can you be happy with this? He stopped the fight after Ward throwing multiple low blows.
That was completely corrupt.
People don't care about legitimacy as long as their guy wins.
As it is we've got yet another huge event that is gonna go down as a blot on boxing's reputation.
Not sure Fury's ring craft is going to work against a fighter like Wilder whom throws from all angles.
Realistically i'd say to beat Wilder you're going to need to knock him out as attempting to go the distance is a risky proposition and i'm just not sure that this Fury has the power to knock out Wilder.
I hope Haymon holds Hearn accountable for not honoring the mandatory Luis Ortiz. Go get em Al!!!
How exactly is he going to do that?
The WBA have stated that they are likely to give Joshua a voluntary defence and thus Hearn is doing absolutely nothing wrong by looking for a fight with Pulev.
Pulev is the IBF mandatory and was Joshua's mandatory before Ortiz was installed as the WBA mandatory and they've stated that unless its the Klitschko rematch then Pulev has to be next else he'll be stripped...
Beyond that; Joshua wants to unify, he can't do that by dropping belts and thus Pulev was always going to be before Ortiz.
This ducking madness is part of the NSB culture. I didn't create it. On NSB it is understood that if you're the A side it is on you to make the fights the public want to see. They're are not many fights for AJ that are bigger than Wilder. A Wlad rematch and Tyson Fury is all. And is AJ going to wait 9 months for Fury to drop the weight?
Quite likely, considering he has mandatories to fight too.
Likelihood is Wilder is going to have to wait until after AJ has fought potentially a Klitschko rematch, definitely Pulev, maybe Ortiz and maybe Fury. All of that is perfectly reasonable considering that:
Klitschko has a rematch clause
Pulev is mandated by the IBF and all the noises are that if not Klitschko he has to be next else he's stripped.
Ortiz has already been making noises about taking the WBA to court if needs be to ensure he gets his shot, even if the WBA have stated they're likely to give AJ a voluntary. Potentially Haymon could get him to step aside for Wilder but it's unlikely he'll go for it.
Joshua v Fury is a much, much bigger fight than Joshua v Wilder and does huge numbers in the UK. Of course this depends on Fury having a boxing license and not being 300 pounds.
On top of all that, it also looks like Parker wants nothing to do with Wilder and just wants to cash out against AJ so that's another potential fight to get in the way. Likelihood is whoever gets Bellew will get Joshua first out of Wilder and Parker.
I'd reckon Wilder v Joshua would happen sooner if it was for all the belts, but Parkers team don't appear to want to risk losing out on a major payday against Joshua to go for that. Only way that's going to change is if Haymon throws a lot of money towards Parker safe in the knowledge that he'll make even more against Joshua if it's for the undisputed heavyweight title. But that'll only happen if Haymon has complete faith that Wilder will blow Parker away.
I thought we were all already in agreement that AJ should be favored against Wilder and that Wilder isn't more technical or more skilled than AJ. However, with Wilder...it literally only takes one punch. The man can concuss you with the first punch he lands. That's a scary thought.
So erm, Wilder's fights in the last 2 years:
Stiverne = R12 UD
Molina = R9 KO
Duhaupas = R11 TKO
Szpilka = R9 KO
Arreola = R8 RTD
Washington = R5 TKO
The guy 'literally only takes one punch' and 'can concuss you with the first punch he lands', so I take it he didn't land 1 clean punch against Stiverne (actually, he had a broken hand so i'll overlook that 1 fight)? Took 9 rounds to land a clean punch on Molina? 11 rounds on Duhaupas...
If he truly has such 1 punch power that he can end a fight with a single punch then his fundamentals must be so bad that he cannot land 1 single flush punch until the later rounds?
Patriotism really is alive and well on NSB.
The way I see it everyone has a suspect jaw until they've taken a few knocks from a big puncher to prove that it's not weak.
Likely will announce Wilder vs Stiverne II at the last minute. NONE OF US want that fight but I don't think we have a choice since the WBC just GAVE Stivernie that #1 Contender Spot by Default because of the Povetkin BS
I think he should just go ahead and try to get Stivernie out of the way then head over to the UK fight either Dillian Whyte of Tony Bellew then look for AJ sometime next year
I don't see him getting a Unification Bout with Parker! AJ might get Parker before he does because Eddie would put up the Money!
Why doesn't Haymon just put up the money to lure Parker in then?! Hearn's money or Haymon's money ain't gonna make any difference to Parker's team, as long as the money is equal.
Better yet, offer more to fight Wilder. Make the fight so appealing that Parker's team cannot ignore it so we can see a Wilder v Parker unification and then a total unification of 2 belts vs 2 belts down the line.
Did he say "makes fire by rubbing twigs together"? WOW?? No Eddie thats what YOU think about Nigeria...Joshua should leave this bastard. This is what he thinks about Black people.
(Well, not YOU because ur making him a boat load of $$$).. YEAH RIGHT!!
No, he said 'making fire by rubbing twigs together' is the common perception (i.e. stereotype), not that he believes that to be the case. A world of difference there.
With hughie certain to take that fraud parkers belt on September and Tyson mounting a comeback and coup detest to take weightlifter Joshua's belts then, given we all expect hughie to rid the division of bum city after going through the motions with Parker - are we looking at two boxing brothers holding all the belts once again? And can they be even more legendary than vitali and wlad?
They're not brothers.
The rest of what you wrote is drivel too.
word is the rematch will be Oct 28th according to Dan Rafael at espn.
When the IBF detailed the exception for the AJ - Wlad fight they said this:
1. If Wladimir Klitschko is unavailable for the rematch on October 28, 2017, the fight shall be staged no later than December 2, 2017.
That pretty much confirmed that the planned date is October 28th to everyone.
are you serious??? he wanted to get out the fact that he bails 2 fights in a row when hurt. you got to be kidding me
I'm going to repeat what I said before. Ludicrous idea.
Do you honestly think the comments of a few people that have never been repeatedly punched in the face would even make the slightest bit of difference to his life? The only people other than his family and friends that could have any kind of effect on him would be his fans... and strangely enough his fans will support him... because they're his fans.
Prime usually means that someone is at their peak, so is Wilder's peak beating bums? Suppose that isn't an unreasonable assumption.
Never really thought much of Ward (sue me, just find him so tedious to watch), but the US has a good future with the likes of Spence and Gervonta Davis. Though I wouldn't say either are in their prime as they are both young enough to continue improving.
so you believe what people say without proof?
sounds like a sensible man.
You don't believe what people say without proof?
Does that mean when you go to the supermarket you manually count out the value of the items you've purchased to ensure the cashier isn't lying to you?
It's fair enough to require proof when you're talking about outlandish claims... but Brook saying he has a broken bone in his face after being repeatedly punched in the face is hardly outlandish. To deem otherwise just highlights you as a bit of a conspiracy theorist... hence the tin foil hat.
I think the second injury is bulls h it. odds on getting two in a row are higher then getting hit by lightning twice
What exactly does Brook gain from lying about an eye injury?
Absolutely ludicrous idea.
Kinda think he should retire to be honest. Eye injuries aren't really something you want to miss around with and considering he'll now have both sides of his head reconstructed with titanium is it really worth the risk?
It's unfortunate and not what anyone wants to see but for his family's sake now it probably is best he retire.
What does this IBF business mean? So the check call is like 10 in the morning?
Not criticising it but I literally don't know what it means I'm also interested in the dietary element.
I'm guessing they carb load up until three hours before the fight. These two aren't welters at all though, tbf.
The IBF introduced it to attempt to stop people from severely draining themselves then putting on too much by the time the fight comes around the next day. Such a yo-yo is incredibly unhealthy and this check weight is designed to limit it to a degree.
IBF have said the fight must happen before December 2nd...this may put Cardiff out the equation as Principality Stadium is only available in December.
Not necessarily. Hearn said the following last month:
Wales' rugby union team will play at the Principality Stadium for most Saturdays in November and December, but 28 October could be a potential date.

Hoping it happens over at MSG myself.
But why? I would argue that IMPATIENCE would get him KO'd against those guys. By going for it early, he would leave himself open to all kinds of stuff coming back. He can be impatient with the type of dudes he's meeting now, but not the top guys.
There's a fine balance there though isn't there. If you're too patient you give guys the chance to recover and blast you out (like Joshua did to Klitschko) but if you're too impatient you'll either leave yourself wide open or just punch yourself out (also like Joshua did with Klitschko).
Would have liked to have seen far more combinations there in that fight personally... for the most part it seemed quite robotic.
