BETTING ODDS: The sportsbooks have Andre Ward as the slight favorite, at between 1.4/1 to 1.75/1 No bonus multipliers for this fight
You only need to post in this thread to indicate if you'd like to use one of your 2X or 3X multipliers. EG.
BrometheusBob.,2X
If you are using no multiplier (1X), and not picking a draw, just voting in the poll puts you in. I will assume you want 1X unless you post otherwise.
NOTES:
-Draws are worth 120pts
-CLOSE is <=12 pts difference, or equivalent to 116-112 on all three scorecards or closer
WIDE is >12 pts difference
-PM me before the fight starts with a different pick in order to change your pick.
-2X doubles your points and 3X triples your points. Everyone starts with 3 doubles and 2 triples to use throughout the year. If you forget how many you have left, check the leaderboard in the master thread.
Sticky me BostonGuy
13pts or more difference = wide
12pts or less difference = close
So most MD or SD scores will fall into close, but not all.
Ok, this is good stuff to know, thank you.
Ok, got it. So what is considered "wide" then, a scoring difference of 12 and above?

Here is a post where I explain that in more depth (I was asked if 117-111, 119-109, 115-113 counts as wide or close)

Yeah i'm wondering the same too.
Or like an SD, where two judges had it wide for Ward 9 rounds to 3 with a kd or 2, and one judge had Kovalev winning 115-113 or something.
Exactly..............
:lol1:
Brobob,
Ive been meaning to ask you, How does a MD work? Like, lets say on saturday one judge had Kova winning and two judges had Andre winning, each by wide margin. (stranger things have happened)
And lets say I bet Ward, dec, wide.
Is it still considered wide due to the scorecards?
Does my question even make sense?
Yeah i'm wondering the same too.

Close is the equivalent of 116-112 on all three cards or closer. That's a scoring difference of 4 on each card or 12 pts total.
Your example:
117-111 = 6
119-109 = 10
115-113 = 2
= 18 pts difference
Which I would count as wide.
Sorry for the confusion, I didn't mean that all three cards must have scores greater than 116-112 to count as wide. The 116-112 on all three cards is just an example to illustrate the cutoff which I actually handle in terms of pts difference.

Andre Ward, KO 5-8, x3, -KEV-.
:lol1::lol1:
I think I would've been wrong if the fight went to the scorecards, I picked Ward wide and one judge had Ward down by 5 after 7. I mean Ward still had 8-12 to make it wider, which that's where it was heading, plus a KD or 2. But I saw this judge have Kovalev up 5 rounds to 2 by end of 7th.

Good sh*t.
You cleared an extra 20 points on me this week. You should jump up a few places too. I should stay around the same (maybe jump a place or two). Are you out of multipliers yet?
Yeah. All done. I think I should be second.
sings* Well I'm movin on up. Movin' on up. I finally got a piece of the pie.
MEGA, I will see ya when I see ya!

From what I read it sounded like it was a good fight. I'm so pissed that I went to that stupid wedding and missed it. I heard it from a random fellow boxing fan at the bar around 11 o'clock that Ward won by KO.
It's gonna be a wide decision
Or kova by KO.
I doubt it's gonna be close this time around though.

Damn one person chose ko and missed it by one fckn round lol. I promise on everything green and holy I almost chose ko for Ward too and chickened out at the last second
Me too... :lol1:
I thought about it....then thought better about it.

You probably would have nailed it on the nose if Weeks handled the end of the fight properly. Give Kov some time to rest but keep fighting like that and he gets clocked out next round no question.
I agree it was premature.
Fight that big, fight of that magnitude, you give an 8 count and see what Kova has left.
Thanks!
Off one round, but I did have the stoppage around that time.

It doesn't even matter the round. The last time I checked you were the only one that selected Ward by KO.
Cheers, man! Bask in your glory. Go rub it in those Kovalev fans' faces.
Hey, I am a Kova fan too.
And nothing I have seen has made me think he is any less than #2 P4P
