Exactly, so why is Khan about to get this fight most likely when Pac has to jump through all sorts of hoops to get the fight when he's obviously way, way more deserving?
Not only that, Arum has already said the fight is doable. HBO and SHO have agreed to joined PPV's before, why wouldn't they do it again?
Because after four years of this, one would've realized by now that Arum has no intention of making the fight? Not all of us are that gullible.
im sure it wasnt during the whole negotiation but it around it, kinda like how floyd offer pac a flat fee which wasnt during negotation either.
Yes Floyd called Pac and offered him that in 2011. Looks like Manny should have said yes right then and there.
Even if not, then why would negotiations not resume when he did offer it? Because Floyd don't want that fight. Why else would he pretend to not even know who Pacquiao is at times? Man, I see you don't get it or don't want to get it so I'll leave you alone.
Lol @ even if not. You just made up some sh*t and then wanna carry on like it's normal? Please tell me when Manny offered this and who he offered it to.
Epic fail, go see youtube. I'm not going to try and convince you any longer. It's begining to become obvious that you wear TMT colored glasses.
Definitely saw the video and he never said he wouldn't fight Pacquiao because it's a health risk. Never. And whoever gleaned that from the video is an epic idiot.
There's no doubt in my mind that Pac would have stopped Bradley in their fight if he had really stepped on the gas. Pac let him off the hook the first time and I know if he knew he was getting robbed, he wouldn't have.
He won that fight EASILY.
No. Just no.
Khan didn't dominate the first two rounds. Also, Danny began working beautiful combinations to the body. That set up Khan perfectly for that left hook.
Yea it does matter to you based on what you have said in this thread so far.
BTW, Pac hurt Bradley a few different times even if it wasn't as bad as Provo did.
Correction - it doesn't change my opinion.
And I saw Bradley stunned once or twice and that was about it.
Yes, just yes. Especially to the beating Bradley part.
Pacquiao is known for letting fighters coast to finish a fight on their feet. That's no mystery bro.
Don't agree. He didn't lose the last three rounds because he was coasting. He lost them by getting outboxed.
PAC did offer that, I'll have to look for it since this was back in 2010 I believe. PAC said he'll do ost up until fight night because he feels it'll make him weak since it's on the same day BUT he said he'll also take a test right away after the fight and the Floyd fans on here says PAC could cycle out the peds by then or how it wouldn't be detected since it needs to be in ur body for a certain amount of time that's when people started calling the Floyd fans ped experts and roach also made the comment that he will never let his fighter be tested on fight night since that's like having sex the day of the fight. I know someone on here gotta remember this.
Look it up and let me know when he offered it and to who, because it definitely didn't occur in 2010.
Lol @ you thinking Arum is still the reason the fight has not been made when Floyd himself has admitted that he doesn't want to fight Pacquiao for health risk and keeps making excuses at to why the fight cannot be made. IE...
In no particular order:
1) Blood testing.
2) Money split.
3) Pac has to sign with TMT.
4) Pac lost his chance.
5) Health first.
6) Pac must prove he's back to elite status by knocking out Bradley.
7) Pac was knocked out by JMM.
The list goes on an on and on and on............
And you are still blind.
Floyd Mayweather never said he won't fight Pac because of health risk. Never. I do recall him saying he wouldn't fight Pacquiao without testing. And since when is a blood test an excuse? When it's Mayweather, I guess. But definitely not if you're Pacquiao and you make Brandon Rios do it.
Not at the elite level yet. It's strange because he is very talented and has really impressive skills. But he's still too careless and amateurish and that will cost him against the upper echelon.
My gut tells me Hagler would've pulled this one out.
Hopkins doesn't dance on his opponents. He turns it ugly. Hagler loves ugly.
Prime Hopkins was an incredible boxer. A scientist.
Hagler weighed in at 157 for Duran, and he was even quoted saying, "every pound counts", insinuating the low weight affected him.
He went into that fight being prepared for Duran's slick style, and to dance with him, not to march in and wear him out. Which he should have done.
Hopkins does have better defense, but that's not saying much when Hagler wasn't a slouch defensively, and he was a better counter puncher than Hopkins, imo.
And yes, this is a pick em fight. I think Hagler has the hunger and that extra gear to get at Bernard on the inside.
Yeah I'm not convinced it was the low weight that affected him. I think it was Duran. He had 15 rounds to adjust and truthfully, Duran could have done more. Hopkins would have. Anyway, nice to see some old school heads chopping it up. And my boy RubenSonny in the mix as usual. Good stuff
Boxer, but not a dancer like SRL. Watch the Echols fight. He deals with punchers by turning the fight ugly. Hagler was great on the inside. That's why gut tells me Hagler would be the favorite.
You didn't have to dance to give Hagler problems. Plus, Hopkins could move very well. And if you're referring to the second Echols fight, yes it got ugly. But in the first fight Hopkins boxed beautifully.
Extremely, for as long as I've been watching boxing I would say James Toney is the only fighter I can say applied himself on the inside better than Hopkins but that's about it. Not Ward nor Mayweather in my opinion and those guys are good.
Completely agree.
Hopkins is a great fighter, and no doubts he would give Hagler fits, but Hagler is a GREAT from the mid range AND on the inside.
I completely understand where people want to say Hopkins could outbox Hagler, but I don't think he can actually do that. The moment, and I mean moment Hopkins was getting his off, that's when Hagler steps it up another notch, and goes in on him, unrelenting.
Of course, that's just my side of the coin. Hell, Hopkins could very well beat Hagler, and I wouldn't even be surprised, but I give the edge to Hagler.
Just going off on Hopkins isn't going to be enough. I recently watched Hagler's fights against Geraldo and Duran and...I think Hopkins beats him. Hopkins has wonderful footwork and I think that's something Hagler really struggled with -- he certainly did in those two fights. I also think Hopkins offers as many looks as Hagler but with better defense. He was excellent from long range, and could hold his own on the inside. If he employed a similar strategy to what Duran did and perhaps threw a little more, he'd frustrate the hell out of Hagler. Still a pick em though between two of the greatest middles ever. I lean toward Bernard.
What? He stunned him in the 12th round, and almost got the KD.
Echols was very game in the 1st fight.
Yea in the last few seconds he landed one right that appeared to stun Hops. Doesn't change the fact that the previous six rounds (and for much of the 12th), he struggled to lay a glove on him.
I don't know if we watched the same fight. Hopkins was "dancing", and was getting trapped on the ropes on numerous occasions. If that had been Hagler, I think he gets hurt.
I thought Hopkins adjusted pretty well in that fight. And then brutalized him in the rematch. But again, dancing isn't a must to giving Hagler problems. Hopkins could hold his own on the inside, and was a well conditioned fighter. He was also the better defensive fighter. I could easily see him giving Hagler fits off the different looks he utilized.
In Hopkins/Echols 1, Echols had no problems getting Hopkins against the ropes, and even had success, landing on Hopkins. He also landed a good amount of inside shots on Hopkins.
You can't compare even compare Echols to Hagler. There are things for Hagler to exploit in a fight with Hopkins. Hopkins could move a little bit, but not at the pace you'd need like a SRL. His inside game would be nullified by Hagler's devastating shots on the inside.
Also, a younger Hopkins wasn't as seasoned as an older Hopkins. He was much more reckless in there. Another thing Hagler could exploit.
A younger Hopkins? The question referred to his prime, not his age. Hopkins was at his peak when he was around 33. An incredible fighter then.
And yea, Echols caught Hopkins by surprise early on but Bernard adjusted and easily outboxed. Echols landed nothing of note after the first few rounds.
I thought it was you but at first I thought it might have been another pinoy alt like IMBIAZED :lol1:
Welcome back man where have you been?
Thanks, man! Took a break from here for a bit - noticed people's bitterness just turning into racism and that was a bit of a turn off. Plus, I have a love-hate relationship with twitter lol. I see not much has changed here though smh.
Taking a tune-up/easy fight after a major, major bout is one thing. Putting it on PPV is another.
When he was the sport's biggest star, Oscar De La Hoya fought Charpentier, Cokey and a host of other stiffs on regular HBO. Floyd should follow suit. In fact, he should take it one step further and put it on CBS. But a Mayweather-Khan PPV? Absolutely unacceptable.
peoples gonna go back hiding under rocks again when its the other way around..
Go back? When were people there in the first place? Manny's given his fans nothing to cheer about in years. But yeah, let's see.
yea hiding under rocks with ur fake alt, manny just gave his whole country hope with the rios fight so not sure what ur talking about LOL.
Fake alt? Nah - my other account was disabled. But I left shortly after Pacquiao was made Marquez's b*tch. Probably a good time to stick around, no? And if the Rios win gives his fans hope then they have greatly lowered their standards.
hi iamdazed aka gino aka ginasabiitch. ur other account somehow got disabled lmao!! yes his win over rios gave his fans/people hope for what happen to their country. pretty low standard i guess huh.
I dont know who gino is and my original account was ImDazed, not IAmDazed --that was someone else. Not too bright, are you? And I'm glad his win gave his country hope in themselves because it sure didn't provide any hope in him.
