You Manny stans are gay as f*ck.
The promotion was horrible from start to finish, I nearly missed the fight thinking it was a week later.
What made things worse is they expected us US people to pay 60$ when they were trying to sell it for $5.00 in China, the Chinese thought $5.00 dollars was too steep, and ending up showing the fight on free tv. So they wanted people to pay 60$ for a ppv being the first with 2 fighters coming off L's, when even the chinese knew this was a regular tv match and showed it for free, thats rubs me wrong, even though I wanted to order, only in Arum land
The trash card aint help Golden Boy may have changed the game as far as ppv's go....
Chinese minimum wage $1.19 p/h
US minimum wage $7.25 p/h
Poor Americans................
What wasn't mentioned was that in ASIA, they can have a house full of watchers, say about 20-30 from one TV so that only counted as 1 subscription. I've heard that in the regions affected by the typhoon for example, they projected the fight on a big screen, perhaps 100s or 1000s watching, again under 1 subscription.
My brother alone invited probably 30-40 people in the house with two large screen TVs...one in the basement and one in the living room. Again, 1 subscription.
I think that the Chinese are pretty much like that too...
And so this isn't an exact science as to why many people didn't watch the fight, on the contrary LOTS OF PEOPLE WATCHED IT. So for half a million, perhaps there's actually 5-10 million watchers at least! hahaha
They don't have PPV over there so I doesn't matter if 1 person watched 1 TV they still sold 0.

I had at least 25 people in my house with the same setup for the Mayweather fight. Large screen on my main level and a large screen in the basement. So this is not a legit excuse. People do this all the time for most big fights.
It is good to see that a Pac fan finally admits that Pacquaio is not at the same level as Mayweather. By the way, how many PPVs do you think Robert Guerrerro would sell by himself?Less than that Morales PPV that sold 50k.
Floyd, undefeated, still has the allure of, "can this guy beat him?"
Manny just got KTFO, brand name tarnished, considerably. Fighting a guy that couldn't even sell 20k PPVs by himself.
You're smarter than a 5th grader.

How is 500k a flop?
The dude just got KTFO, his brand name went considerably down, and he was fighting Rios. A guy that wouldn't sell 20k in PPVs by himself.
You guys overreact way too much.
What you are trying to say is a huge flop for Mayweather is actually a huge success for Pacquaio. What logic!
I just broke the number down, 550k PPvs equals 33 Million Dollars. 50% of it goes to the Cable Providers so there is around 16.5 Million left in the pot, the gate was 8 Million Dollars. Mannys purse was 18 Million, Rios 4 Million.
Bob lost a lot of Money on this event and no wonder he is pushing for a Mayweather fight now so he can cash out Manny.
Bob didn't lose any money because he did not pay Pacquaio $18 million as he claimed.
Manny made the kind of money he wanted. Taxes were about 7% or less. PPV sales are mere bonuses for HBO, which spent very little in this fight.
Unlike the Guerrero fight. It's a huge financial flop. We don't even know if they recovered in the Canelo fight which was heavily promoted and stacked with expensive undercards.
PPV sales are mere bonuses? HBO spent very little? You must missed the NY Times story that describe how HBO's production costs for Pacquiao-Rios were FOUR TIMES higher than usual.
And if you knew anything at all, you'd know that the network doesn't pay for the cost of advertising/promoting the event nor the cost of the undercard. In other words, Showtime didn't pay any marketing costs or undercard costs.
miles better than the guerrero floyd fight, which was held in vegas, stacked with mexican undercards on cinco de may worth millions of dollars, and heavily promoted.
as opposed to two fighters having both lost their last fights. arum still made astronomical sums of money.
the guerrero fight lost $12 million. at the rate showtime is going, it will go bankrupt in no time. floyd fights are too expensive to make. they need 1.5M ppv just to break even.
Welcome to the forum, Todd duBoef.
No one else would believe such garbage propaganda.
I said 600k, so about what I expected. Two fighters coming off a loss, Fighter B was not that good to begin with, weak undercard. Manny's next fight does more because he's coming off a win and his fans are under the impression that "he's back".

Where is the Link from Cbs/Showtime saying the Lost 12 million???
Stop making **** up!!!!
And I keep telling you ppl not from this Country Showtime is owned by CBS...
CBS is the biggest television network in America..
CBS is worth 100's of billions Floyd money is Not showtime money its CBS money!!!!
CBS is basically playing Floyd to build showtime brand like HBo if not bigger than HBO!!!!
if floyd next fight does 500k its still a win for CBS..//as long as Floyd is Associated with them its a win!!
Since Floyd as been apart of CBS their Stock have been thru the roof...
I can post actual links of the Floyd CBS effect!!!

not justifying anything but does anyone here knows what's arum's deal with cotai casino?
he said the resort gave them some good deal and ppv is just an icing on the cake. 500k was low for a pac fight but if TR is still making money out of it, then no PPV is small.
if a 800K ppv can guarantee you 40M$, 500K should make 25M, and arum only gave 18M to his fighter.. so arum still wins.. :lol1:
Those numbers do show a bit of insight that Mannys popularity after the kayo has dipped. In his peak a Rios level guy would of still been around 800,000 buys. Not a strong number especially if you want to keep paying Manny around the 20 million mark. Gonna have to fight better known fighters and build himself up again.Manny really has like 20-30 people watching at every PPV buy and all 2 billion people in China bought his $5 PPV to watch on their phones/tablets. Also, the fight was held in China so the US PPV numbers suffered as fewer people in the United States were able to order the PPV on TV due to it being held in China.
