I can see why people get mad about his personality, the truth is his not flashy or flamboyant and that's why people seem to not "connect" with him....Truth to be told; I think the sport needs more fighters/boxers like Cotto,I follow him and like him because what he does on the ring.....not outside of it.......is a shame not everyone can appreciate that.
I'm looking forward to the fight at the weekend.I like Cotto as well.Good video K.
I see Floyd winning it but don't think it'll be like the Gatti beating . JMM's to good a fighter to be that stupid . Look at Pacquaio . He keeps moving up and beating people . Hopkins done it as well . Moved up and was successfull .JMM is one of the best p4p fighters so might be strong at the weight plus he's an excellent counter puncher and boxer . Mayweather close decision for me .
Boxers usually find promoters through contacts at the gym. Most good gyms and trainers are connected with local promoters and boxing organisations.
Your best bet if your new to boxing is to find a good, reputable gym, get some amateur experience, and go from there. Most pro boxers have usually won a local, regional, or national title somewhere down the line. Even guys with 4-10 records usually have won such titles.
Find a gym. Train hard. Enter local, and regional boxing competitions. And if you are any good, you will more than likely get picked up by a promoter.
Just remember that for most boxers their first fight is also their last fight.
K thanks for info timba.
I suppose you could put it a bit like this.
I heard that no matter how hard some people train to slamdunk a basketball they'll never be able to do it , it's impossible.
I've heard the same about pro boxers that they're born with it.You can't make it and am really wondering if it's a hit or myth:boxing:Similar to the chin , born with it or can make it better
Ok cool just wondering. They say great fighters can't be made they're born and it's impossible to punch like an elite pro no matter how hard you train , they're born with it.Hit or myth.Just wonder but if you to an elite world class coach and he made an ordinary amatuer his project could he turn him into an elite pro with strength and conditioning
The majority of the poll still voted for Tua ko tko check. At 36 it's still about one of the most exciting fights your going to get in the heavyweight division bar the Klitsckos .50 wins 43 ko's never been stopped.I would rather see Haye Tua than Ruiz who Tua ko'd in 1.
ok, i am as stuck in the past as any boxing fan but Tua is done, he is overweight and has not been great this century, i would LOVE to see a prime Tua destroy all these wack heavyweights but he is done as a world class fighter,
I am aware he hasn't lost since 2001 but i am also aware how many fights he has had and who he has fought.
Im a huge fan of Tua but i am also a realist.
I apologise for calling your thread a fail, its just you was the only person responding on it for the longest. my bad
It's alright don't worry about it .Check the results it's not a fail .Prime Tua left hook :wank: Tua should trash talk Haye for a shot he's got a 1st rd ko over Ruiz
I wonder if the weight had anything to do with his chin , because some people said he looked gaunt . Billy Graham said he looked as if he was carrying more fat and less muscles than usuall at the weigh in
This is pretty stupid but I was looking forward to it.Judah could probably be fighting the 140 champs tomorrow if he wanted .He should move down and try and get Bradley or something imo.Would like to see Matthew Hatton Kell Brook as well.According to boxrec Matthew Hatton's scheduled to fight Lovemore N'dou for the IBO welterweight title
Man he'll probably be on the piss and chilling.I hope he goes after another 140 belt holder just like Malignaggi who was supposed to be the closest rival in the division after the Mayweather loss.I think there's to much hate and doubt on Hatton. What's the shame in losing to a 140 belt holder.I wouldn't go any lower than that tho.If it's boxing and not about money and fans then why retire.Any true boxing fan should want want to see more big fights. He bounced back after a brutal 10 rounds with Floyd why not give him the benefit of the doubt and see if he can beat another 140 champion.
