Of course, I'm hoping for another surprising result here.
Who is also rooting for the underdog, Nahir Albright?
I see a strong possibility of an upset. Otherwise, I see total war.
Why do you Floyd Mayweather fanboys keep bringing this topic up when your hero is known to have use peds his entire boxing career? Go to the Google university library and find out for yourselves. You people should be the last people on earth to bring this topic up.
It's like a bald person selling hair-growth products. or a sickly person selling health products.
What boxers do you genuinely dislike in the sport and what is your reason why?
Greed is what I dislike in boxing, especially when it's the reason for the inactivity.
Any hope of seeing US boxing rise again in popularity? What must be the solution?
I'm hearing that Turki is contemplating on leaving boxing or reduce his participation.
I always prefer when fighters do it the right way - the way Ward moved to LHW and Usyk moved to HW. That way you actually see what the guys are made out of.
One loss should not be a huge deal in this sport. Losing is part of any sport. Teo thinks he can beat the "top" guy. Let him. He should get props for it.
How ???
Why ???
Source ???
Not trying to be a smart ass but he just started TKO for what then ???
Gift for Dana ???
Plus he wouldn’t have invested in DAZN if he were getting out of the fight game

They're not content in reporting he made $2 million. They have to inflate it to high heavens and insult people's intelligence. Yeah, even at a time when all major US networks have left boxing. A few years ago people were wondering how uncle Al is able to pay $1 million for his fighters, which is still huge even to this day.
All these grossly exaggerated figures started when DAZN joined the scene. They were a startup company willing to spend hundreds of millions of dollars. Hearn represented them and started making garguantuan offers. Wilder's highest purse at PBC was $2 million. Hearn offered him $12 million for the AJ fight, then it became $25 mil, $100 mil, and so on. PBC fans and their fanatical writers were irritated. And not to be outdone, they started manufacturing numbers. Espinoza overpaid Wilder at first but ended up throwing him to Fox Sports.
Until now the exaggeration hasn't abated even when Showtime had exited boxing. PPV numbers are also exaggerated even in this day and age of rampant free streaming. Strange part is some people actually buy into it.
Correction for the title: "Why did Jaron 'Boots' Ennis disappoint a lot of people?"
---------
Any thoughts about this serious malady in the sport of boxing? Is it really that serious losing once in this sport? Jaron had not thoughts of winning against Ortiz at all?
Lemme just refresh people's memory:
That's what this writer Frank Yemi reported:
June 16, 2024
"Davis set for hefty payday with estimated earnings up to $25 million,
while Martin expected to take home $3.25 million."
https://www.thesportster.com/gervont...rses-earnings/

Take a look at another report from MSN:
"According to Sporty Salaries, $2 million is guaranteed for Gervonta Davis in the bout with Frank Martin. Frank Martin, the opponent, might get up to $500k, which would be the biggest payday of his career.
On fight day, if the bout between Frank Martin and Gervonta Davis surpasses the 800k pay-per-view sales mark, Gervonta Davis will potentially earn a maximum of $10 million. In comparison, Frank Martin may earn a maximum of $1.5 million."

Two reports with huge difference in figures. One is close to reality and the other is clearly made up.
The Saudis are putting on big shows and fights we'd normally not see and the reason is money. US promoters and networks need to stop being greedy and open their wallets and/or stop taking such large percent cuts from their fighters.
HBO, Fox Sports, NBC, ABC, Spike, Showtime have said goodbye to boxing. That should tell any sensible person they're losing money from it. ESPN is about to exit also. Promoters don't make much, they mostly break even, even lose money, after spending tons on promotion and organizing events. That's not cheap.
Put your money where your mouth is brotha. If you're so sure, bet your house or car or something. Talk is cheap.
How about betting this alt account of yours to someone here who want you disappear in this place?
How about betting this alt account of yours to someone here who want you to disappear in this place?
This isn't a alt, but I will take all bets.
Oye puta pestosa.
I call it a 50/50 fight, but beaten badly?
I'll take that bet. Loser leaves for good.
Put up or stfu
Okaaay! Let's see what happens let's gooo!
Haven't heard a peep about any one of those names. No one cares. Inactivity is a contagious disease in that side of the street.
Adames and De Los Santos are interesting cases. They haven't established themselves properly, yet they're acting like they have accomplished a lot already. Is it really PBC to blame or the fighters themselves? You'd wonder what all this inactivity all about.
Teo also took on decent fights to stay busy in between his big fights without complaints. Would you imagine Haney taking on Jamaine Ortiz, for instance? Sandor Martin, Commey, Nakatani, Claggett, Campa?
Crawford just fought a few months ago, where have y'all been? :lol1:
Crawford is essentially retired, imho, especially now that the Canelo fight is far from happening for him. Who is there to attract him and get the kind of money he wants? He dismissed the Fundora fight ordered by WBO. Which was supposedly the fight he claimed he wanted for unification. He let the deadline pass for the purse bid, and he could have had plenty of time to prepare.
I'm not sure I understand your list other than most of them are PBC. They're killing themselves and American boxing by not having more events.
Teofimo Lopez is becoming one. I believe his contract with TR has ended.
Boxing IS on the decline in America but how come nobody's talking about the US being the birthplace of p0rn, junk food, wokeness (not to mention being the obesity capital of the world)? Do you think they have these kind of problems in Kazakhstan/Uzbekistan lol?
The high cost of food nowadays is solving obesity problem in America. I see people on Tiktok complaining why even eating fast food costs too damn much.
I don't know what has happened with these US boxers. (No use calling them fighters.) They seem to be following similar footsteps. Thurman, Spence, Crawford, Tank, Shakur, Ennis, Jermall, Jermell, Haney, etc. They're all terrified of losing.
Turki offered Ortiz to Ennis and Crawford and they both declined. I don't think these types of boxers deserve money fights. I'll just let them rot in oblivion if I were Turki. Put the money on deserving ones like up and coming stars who get paid peanuts.
True! I can't remember if Turki had anything to do with Joshua/Dubois, but that fight was $20 here in the US! If that was Eddie and Frank, then there's a better chance of the market shifting towards lower prices if Turki gets involved.
So Joshua/Dubois was only $20 in the US, how many people bought that fight?
I'm not sure what else it takes for the price to shift, but this is a step in the right direction I feel.
They have to understand there are no Mayweathers or Pacquiaos in the sport right now, aside from Canelo Alvarez who can actually demand those prices.
I'm not getting what you're saying here. Are you assuming cutting down PPV prices means people would buy?
