I give Benavidez credit for finally taking this fight. However, he is going to be beaten BADLY, here's a few reasons why
Morrell Size/Youth- This might be the biggest factor. Benavidez has NEVER faced a prime fighter who can match him in size. The only people who could match his size were Caleb Plant(30 years old/previously KO'd), Gavril(31 years old/c level), and Gvozdyk(37/previously KO'd and retired). Benavidez couldn't knock them out. Gvozdyk was throwing pity pat punches the whole night and Benavidez face looked like he took an asswhoopin. Benavidez and Morrell are the same size and Morrell is younger and physically stronger. He won't be able to bully Morrell with his size like he is used to doing.
Benavidez Bruises Easily- Like I just said, Benavidez has HORRIBLE skin. Even in fights he wins, his face looks like he's the loser afterwards. Morrell is the hardest puncher that Benavidez has faced today and I really think Morrell is going to mark Benavidez up badly. That hinders a fighter's performance because after their face is swollen, the punches hurt alot more and it changes their ability to be offensive.
Benavidez Weight Cut- Benavidez was in HORRIBLE shape at the the face off with Morrell. He's going to have to work 10x harder than Morrell to get in shape. Being close to fighting shape year around is a big advantage that the greatest boxers have vs their opponents. Benavidez could get away with it because he is always facing smaller fighters but that weight cut is going to hit different when he's facing someone his size or bigger than him. I believe this is why his punches didn't even make Gvozdyk blink.
Morrell Boxing Ability- Morell will not be an easy target for Benavidez to just tag. Gvozdyk was a shell of his former self and his slow movement was limiting Benavidez from being effective with his offense. Caleb Plant had Benavidez swinging at air all night until he got clipped. Morrell isn't as slick as Caleb but he has way more speed than Gvozdyk did.
I think alot of you are about to be suprised at how Morrell is able to handle Benavidez. I have Morrell by KO inside 10 rounds
One sided? What were you watching. That was a very competitive fight. Even the rounds Benavidez won, he had to work hard for them and took punishment in the process.
It was a DOMINANT win from Benevidez. Surviving and getting in a few licks can loosely qualify as "competitive" but that's giving Morrell extra credit that isn't warranted. He lost the vast majority of the rounds. The difference between the two fighters was significant.
so now he DESERVES a shot at the almight pius CANELO????
WOW
Let's examine Benny's resume, shall we :)....
Morrell (He was/is a big deal for some unknown reason)
Ole G (???)
DooDoo (:lol1:)
Plant (His best W)
LeMeh (Shot AF !!!)
Kyrone from da hood
etc, etc
So, is he really worthy :dunno:
I have no problem with admitting I was wrong and Benavidez fought a great fight. I have nothing negative to say about him anymore. He fought the guy I felt he was avoiding and did a great job. Morrell did a great job too and showed why I said he could beat Benavidez.

I didn't expect Benevides to win the fight in such a one-sided fashion. That was a whooping!

Oye puta pestosa.
I call it a 50/50 fight, but beaten badly?
I'll take that bet. Loser leaves for good.
Put up or stfu
You taking all bets yet was quiet as a puta
How about betting this alt account of yours to someone here who want you to disappear in this place?
This isn't a alt, but I will take all bets.

Okaaay! Let's see what happens let's gooo!
Just put your money where your mouth is. Talk is cheap. Anyone can say fighter A would beat B, or vise versa.
Problem is there are no consequences in picking the wrong outcome. You move on and that's it. Anonymity keeps you safe.
Would be more impressive it you put real money into this. Go borrow some and bet online. Show your receipt for the bet and let's see what happens.
Just picking A or B is nothing. It's 50/50 chance as compared to picking one out of at least ten people.
It's like sticking the plug of your electric shaver which can only be inserted one way into an outlet. And most times it fits, or most times it doesn't.
Nah the fat puto said Morrell would badly beat Benavidez. That isn't just some regular prediction. She's hated on that foo for years.
I don't have a lot of praise for Andrade. I've thought he was overrated for years. He spent years avoiding literally every fight that was anywhere near big while bleating about being ducked himself. At least Tank Davis is honest that he just wants easy money. The only reason that Andrade fought Benavidez is that PBC didn't give him any other options. And I note that he's not fought again since. I will give him credit for coming to fight though. Didn't go out like a kitten, as Charlo did vs Canelo. But I agree that he's not a good measuring stick for how well Benavidez will do vs Morrell. And that's exactly what I think, that's why I reply to @Southpawology, he mentioned andrade like he was this big dude full of talent in his prime.
Andrade was an old career 154 that wasted his career waiting for a shot at canelo. He got fat with age and move up. Finally he was offered along with Morrell Jr to benavidez, we know the rest.
ps. His only fight at 168, yes he got koed by benavidez. He had like 6 or 7 figthts from 17 to 23, all at 160 aganst 2nd and 3dr tier fighters, until a threat showed up at the weight . I'm sorry if I didn't catch your sarcasm earlier praising andrade.

For years the majority of this site said Morrell had no chance against Benavidez. So picking a heavy underdog is impressive when you're one of the only people who predicted the result. I don't know Benavidez to hate him, I've given my opinion on him as a boxer. Emotion has nothing to do with my prediction, idk what you're talking about

Nothing impressive about picking the winner of any boxing match and happened to be right.
What you're doing is mere paper rock scissors prediction. Winner or loser could either be A or B, no C, D, E...
So if you're right with your choice, so what? What's the big deal? A or B, it's mere 50/50.
To top it all off you hate Benavidez. You've been hating on the guy even before you saw their last fights.
Nothing impressive about picking based on emotion. Of course, you'll justify the pick by peppering it with flowery technicalities, etc.

Andrade wasn't 154... He hadn't fought at that weight class since 2017. I agree with you though. Andrade isn't comparable to Morrell in any relevant way as far as predicting performance.

both Lefties
both Athletic
both have Power
both Slick
The main differences are Age and Morrell is bigger. However andrade has way more experience. Morrell only has 11 pro fights. I like the fight good match up but I dont see benavidez struggling with the lefty and I see him stopping morrell late.
