Funny stuff! *****ko sisters fans always try to blame Haye. Each time when people start saying that Wlad's fights mostly are boring! *****ko supporters start shouting that Haye is more boring )))
OK...
Sandy Saddler beating Willie Pep?
Junior Jones beating Marco Antonio Barrera?
Good examples you can add Douglas and Tyson here. But Saddler and Jones had to poor recrords to be comparable with Pep and MAB..and Barrera has beaten Erik and McKinney who both TKO Jones
Head to Head match-up has little to do with rating greatness relative to each other.
So Look at Roy Jones and Glen Johnson.
Johnson beat Jones but have you seen any ATG list that has Johnson over Roy?
Zero.
Johnson won Jones when Roy was far from his prime..Mayweather was able to beat Erik at any point of his carier..
What do you mean? They were top rated when Morales beat them. Ayala was a "fighter of the year" winner for crying out loud.
I dont mean to insult. No offense but you really should brush up on your history. Look at things with an open mind.
And I dont really want to get to a point when I bash Floyd's competition faced.
Erik is my favorite figher (with Toney and Whitaker). I watched all availible his fights..guys which u r talking about are good fighters but i can't say they are top level boxers (as ODLH for instance)..have you looked other Espades fights? Absolutely nothing special. Maccalugh lost all his fights with top level fighters and so on...overall, if you saing that JMM was to small for Floyd, then why are u not saing that Ayala was to small for Erik..
I cant understand why you bring up Gatti-Ward fight in here.
You really want to bring up resumes? OK...
Daniel Zaragoza, Junior Jones, Hernandez, McCullogh, Ayala, Espadas are at least comparable to Floyd's laundry list of fighters beaten. (Hernandez, Coralles, Castillo, Judah, Corley)
Floyd's HOF beaten: Dela Hoya, Mosley, Marquez (All OLD! Marquez was Damn Undersized!)
Morales has Barrera and Pacquiao... Prime.
There is just no one in Mayweather's resume as quality of a name as those two... NOBODY...
Espades, McCullogh, Hernandes?...joking?
I really dont understand this scrutination of whether Pac has improved? His performances have improved. He was better in the second fight against Morales and hes beating the Cottos and DLHs of this world and hes not just a one arm puncher now.
But having said that just cos hes improved certain things doesnt mean to say he will have a easier fight with a opponent like JMM. He hasnt performed better against JMM, but you cant base the whole argument about whether Pac has improved solely on his performances against JMM can you that justs not fair or accurate is it now? Without assesing whether JMM has improved and learnt from his defeat to Pac!
How can you scientifically gauge whether Floyd has improved when he never fights a opponent more than once?.
I think its just people who have an agenda and in particualar something against Pac that would take the time to make threads like this. Singling Pac out for assesment is a ***** move, and is caused by ill will and resentment cos of Pacs resume and trying to tarnish his wins and resume is the outcome that they want.
Very knowledgeable point. Agree on 100%
johnson, at some point in roy's life, was able to ko him. At no point in floyd's life will erik ever be able to do that.
As for accomplishments, floyd mayweather has been one of the 2 or 3 best p4p fighters in the world for roughly 8-10 years. His resume speaks for itself.
Morales has had great fights, but ward and gatti had 3 great ones and that doesn't make them any better fighters. I have tremendous respect for morales.
But any way you cut it, titles, weight classes, p4p, skills, he can't compare to floyd mayweather.
+1..............
If manny has improved then not as much as a lot of people thiks..hes improved a bit his counterpunching skills (but mostly he started do better counterpunching due to his speed advantage in lww and ww) and foot movements - sidesteps and etc.
