The body is delicate. It can't just take right hands and left hooks like it's nothing. Look at all the MMA fighters who get ruined. Brain damage. Too many blows to the head!
Chino is a beast. Good call, TS.
This proves just cause some motherfucker has an old account doesn't mean shit.
Stop acting like your opinion matters more. It doesn't.
Too many oldfags on here are condescending. WTF! :nonono:
You can tell a boxing noobie when the thread title says "Trainer" instead of his name..Good post though, Maidana getting outboxed. Don't think he will get stopped
Why do you have to be a condescending asshole???
No one cares about your 2006 account, biotch.
Alexander ain't much of a puncher and he had Maidana hurt multiple times, especially to the body. Doesn't matter though, lets believe that a pot shot won't do it when it's stopped much bigger and stronger men than Maidana from coming forward or maybe Maidana ends up like Hatton.
Woo buddy you smokin some good shit!!!! :lol1::lol1::lol1::lol1:
if i ever saw you in real life, id punch your face and knock your teeth out like you were prince obryn and i was ser gregor.
No you wouldn't. You'd probably look down. LoadedWraps would first round KO you. :nono:
even towards the end of the dlh fight after he got knocked down and dlh had him against the ropes, vargas somehow slipped all those shots...then he stumbled to the other corner and dlh unloaded but I always found that impressive.
He was trained well.
As for what the other poster said I agree. Someone forgot to tell Vargas that he's not the puncher in this fight.
He should have strictly stuck to boxing.
oscar was a converted southpaw, so i would imagine it was lesser, though he had a really great left hook. I'd oscar 75/100 for his right hand. tito probably 85-90/100.
So his left hooks were way better than his right hands?
Vargas could have really won IMO
The more and more I think about it, I realize it was Vargas' fight to win, not lose.
However... Here are some factors that contributed to his demise...
Not seasoned, wily, experienced enough; he was a 22-year-old.
Trinidad was an undefeated monster at the time. (But not unbeatable!)
Vargas didn't jab, move, or keep his right hand up enough. He tried to be a tough guy puncher. For what?! Why the f*ck are you gonna try to be a brawler/puncher WHEN YOU HAVE GREAT BOXING SKILLS?!
On top of that, the head movement was there (it was beautiful) but the foot movement was not there; Vargas was more flat footed than Trinidad, sadly.
Nando had all the tools to beat Trinidad -- and maybe even stop him -- but he had a bad gameplan. He didn't respect Trinidad until he got caught. Like the other poster said, he should have been more cautious.
Think about it, Vargas IMO has more power than Bernard Hopkins. (Not saying that B-Hop is bad or anything. Just saying what I think.) If Vargas set traps intelligently -- like Bernard -- he could have really tattooed Tito. But it all begins with the jab, footwork, and keeping your hands up. That was the difference between Hopkins and Vargas. What you do is throw combinations off the back foot. Vargas has the ability to do that! Why he brawled is beyond me.
Other factors that contributed to his demise was Tito's size, reach, power, speed, and slightly better athleticism.
Vargas was a good boxer with a chance to be an ATG jr. middleweight. :(
Nando moved his head very well. His feet, not so much. And like the other poster alluded to, he didn't keep his right hand up at all times but that could be due to the body shots from Tito. Vargas constantly dropped his right hand when he would throw the left hook. He was prolly trying to protect his body, is my guess..
technically vargas wasn't ready, he didnt jab as much as he should of and he didnt have the best punch variety but all in all, tito was just too good for him. no version of vargas beats tito
I agree with the bolded part.
However I disagree with the part in red.
If I remember correctly, Vargas was believed that Trinidad could not fight backing up. That is why he attacked from the start. If he would have taken the DLH/Hopkins approach he might have pulled it off.
His head movement in that fight was pretty awesome. He made Tito miss a lot of shots even while hurt.
Indeed it was. It certainly was. He was damn near KO'd and he was still moving his head semi effectively. It was instinctual, automatic. Like breathing to him; he just does it automatically. does not have to think about it.
Vargas said it best himself and its exactly what happened. He said he was the better boxer and his plan was to outbox him but once he got dropped, he felt like he was behind and had to fight with him. Even when he came back even in the fight, he said he still felt like he was behind and that he shouldve went back to boxing after that. I think he couldve won if he didnt let his ego get to him and go toe to toe
I agree. Vargas had the tools.
Got a source on "Vargas said it best himself"? Thanks.
rematch would be 7M PPV min..
7 million buys? That would set the bar so high.
People would ask for an immediate rematch and it would be the most anticipated event of the fall of 2015.
Fall of 2015?
After engaging in that type of war... very brutal and destructive... I think they would need at least a year off to heal. Mayweather-Pacquiao 2 June 2016!
dat fight was a million times better than dis sh1t below!
Mayweather boxes, moves around a lot, and clinches a lot. He only fights in short spurts.
Basically he comes to box.
But guys like Fernando Vargas and Tito Trinidad... They come to fight -- fight to the bitter end.
It'd be 5.6 million upset Mexicans rather than 5.6 million upset Pinoys.
That makes no sense. Why are you bringing race into this? Don't answer that; I know you're a trolling asshole, racist flomo.
dat fight was a million times better than dis sh1t below!
Of course.
I was just a snot-nosed kid when Trinidad and Vargas did battle in the ring -- but even then -- I knew I was witnessing greatness.
Like is it your life? Or it's just a form of entertaiment.
Would you cry if your boy gets knocked out rofl?
Would you run all the way to the place of the fight and plant a wet kiss on his forehead as he's being carried off in a stretcher screaming that you will forever love him and he'll be back?
Not only that, but I would also start giving him a hand if you know what I mean. *wink, wink* Must revive him.
Vargas was good for a little stretch, but he couldn't hang with the big dogs. He was a wannabe tough guy with no identity -- was his style a brawler or boxer? Are you trying to be like Julio Cesar Chavez or Oscar De La Hoya?
At any rate, he was a very entertaining boxer. He had a lot of heart and skills. His defense was bad though.
