The Chisora of 2013 would have beaten Wilder BUT Richard Schaefer was scared to death to let Beyonce fight Dereck back then. Now Wilder is the favourite but Chisora can still give him a lot of trouble with his pressure style.
Pretty average fight, but at least Parker is getting better prep than AJ. Two 12 round fights against Takam and Ruiz, and he's weathered both. Who has AJ fought thats worth mention? AJ hasn't even tested himself at the distance.
I think we won't see any more of Parker for at least a few months, Barry already said he's having an extended break to recover from this year. They have no need to have any more tune-up bum fights, and no need to have any more NZ fights now he'll be on the radar in the US and UK. Now that he can headline a card in the States or Europe, he won't be back.
Joshua would have stopped both Takam and Ruiz Jr.He doesnt even need to go 12 rounds.
Not in NZ. He'd never catch him.
Parker cant hide his whole career in New Zealand. If he wants to become a real World Champ then he has to fight in the US or in the UK.
When Haye returns then he will be already 37 and even a worse fighter than Saturday night. And he looked shot against Bellew. No chance in hell against the elite Heavyweights !
A 37 year old Haye post surgery and a defeat will be even worse than last night. If he continues to fight then he goes back to fighting journeymen because Haye cant compete with the elite anymore.
As expected.
I think he'll look for a rematch after surgery and call it a day.
Bellew also plans just one last big fight this year but it wont be against Haye.He wants Wilder or Parker/Hughie Fury winner.Win,lose or draw Bellew retires after that fight because as quoted "I have only 12 months left in this sport"
If it's a full tear he's done and never coming back. If it's a partial tear then it's possible he may return for a rematch with Bellew. Don't see him ever being a legit threat to the top HW's again at this point though.
Haye is only getting worse. He cant improve anymore and it doesnt make sense to fight journeymen again after surgery.Nobody wants to see that in the UK.
I appreciate people having plans.
However, when he looks at the cheque offered for those fights and then looks at the cheque he'd receive for a rematch (against a guy coming off another major surgery no less), the plans may just change.
As reigning WBC Cruiserweight World Champ he has an option to face Wilder. That would be a huge fight aswell in the UK.He makes more money at Heavyweight than going back to Cruiserweight.
I'm a big Rigo fan, and a fan of Loma but probably more of a Rigo fan and honestly Rigo should accept whatever offer he gets within reason, hes not in a position to be picky and has very little time left in his career.
1 Mio $ is a fair offer.
Lomachenko needs to get the Rigondeaux fight over with, then move on, win or lose.
This is like the Lara fight in Alvarez's case.
Rigondeaux needs Loma more than the other way around. Loma wants Mikey Garcia who brings more money and fame to Loma. A win over Garcia is more worth.
He should jump at the chance, he won't make that elsewhere.
Rigondeaux´s record purse was 750.000$ against Donaire. So 1 Mio $ is totally fair because its Lomachenko and a fight between 2 P4P Top 10 fighters.
Donaire was a bigger name than Lomachenko. Don't be ridiculous. Rigo wad also with Arum at the time.
Top Rank's job is to make sure Lomachenko is paid and turns into a star. Fighting Rigo doesn't help Lomachenko in either regard. Rigo doesnt sell many tickets, nor does he bring many viewer ratings.
Top rank pays Loma good because he's an investment to them.
Rigo should accept $500,000 if it's offered to him, otherwise, good luck getting paid much again. $1 million is ridiculous to demand for a fighter because it's not coming out of your pocket. Top Rank could probably pay $1 million (split in half) to get two top 130 opponents in the ring with Loma. Just look at Rigo's past few fights, and his purses He made like $120,000??? his last fight for God's sake.
BREAKING : LOMACHENKO VS RIGONDEAUX WILL TAKE PLACE ON DECEMBER 9th IN NYC MADISON SQUARE GARDEN THEATRE http://**********.com/pag/article.php?aid=32855
When you pressure Rigo he fights back with a lot of intensity. There's no way Loma just casually walks Rigo down like he did with Marriaga and does those pitty pat punches to set something up. Rigo isn't going to allow that. Which isn't to say that Loma won't be able to get in close to Rigo, but he'll definitely be eating some hard, crisp straight lefts in the process.
I think Rigo is even more accurate than Loma. Rigo chooses his shots more carefully than Loma and often throws with mean intentions. Loma will, however, probably catch Rigo with something big at some point, and if Rigo doesn't get completely knocked out, expect a serious fight to break out.
All that said, I don't think Loma's gameplan will be to bully Rigo. But to apply pressure intelligently and time Rigo with something big. Don't expect the usual showboating from Loma. We'll probably see the most serious and determined Loma yet. I have NO IDEA how Loma is going to figure out Rigo's timing though, lol... Rigo is probably the hardest guy to figure out in the ring. But i suppose if anyone can do it, it's Loma.
Russell Jr was supposed to be the fastest boxer but Loma was faster in the ring than him.
Very good fight and the one I suggested for Gvozdyk after his last fight. A win over Barrera would be enough to earn him a shot at Ward in my mind
Hopefully this becomes a WBO World title eliminator.
Exclusive Interview of Ukrainian TV Channel INTER with Usyk " I want to become Undisputed World HW Champ and after that retire" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YosrCVZsmE0
I’m assuming they’d both be hard fights. Easiest doesn’t mean easy necessarily. We will see how he does against Chazz then I’ll put what he said into perspective. I like that he didn’t bulk up, just looks like he didn’t cut. Adjustments should be made after this fight.
Usyk said from day one since moving to HW that he will weigh maximum 220 pounds (100kg) on fight night.
Wilder is brainwashed in believing that he is the best HW in the world by fighting 38 bums. Also Joshua unified titles twice already but Wilder claims Joshua doesn't want to unify.
True, but I’m sure Audley didn’t come to get Murdered either.
Also, didn’t know Audley had such a big reach. No wonder he was such a dominant amateur.
Fraudley was 42 when he faced Wilder. Also he sparred him before in training camps. Wilder already knew what to expect from him. Fury is different.
Yeah cause joshua really needs to take financial advice from wilder lmfao. Even with fury as a dance partner he cant even sell out a small venue :lol1: and guess what, when the fury fight flops the offer will be less than 15 million flat fee, you get what u are worth.... 10 mill, take it or leave it :lol1:
Only 50% of tickets sold.Thats very very poor ticket sales for a World Heavyweight Champion.
He was 39, he was always out of shape anyway and who can say he was slow? ... he only lasted a round!!
But you missed the point. O.P stated that Wilder's wide stance is a disadvantage and I'm saying no it isn't - not when you can close large distance in half a second because of your athleticism.
Can Fury react given half a second's time to react. Yes! Can he get out of the way? Yes!
Will he always avoid every hard right during 36 minutes of action? Imo - No!
Wilder has a few names on his record like Liakhovich,Arreola,Ortiz & Stiverne but they were all old and past their prime. I want to see him against a prime top opponent. We will find out whether Fury is really that good as in his sparring sessions.
How much usage of drugs and alcohol does it take to diminish ones reflex. What ever the amount I'm sure fury is no where near that.
At least Fury looked great in sparring thats what Nelson heard from sources.
This is a big concern of mine for Wilder, if the KO doesnt ever come I think he will be behind on points.
Wilder usually head hunts, he would make this easier if he went to the body, he wouldnt have to worry about the furys small head, his 6'9'' body is a bigger target, its easier to reach and it has the added benefit of breaking him down over the rounds so he will be less mobile, theres no way Fury's body could withstand an attack with Wilder's power after the abuse he put it through.
I dont know that Wilder and his corner is smart enough to strategize like that.
Fury doesnt really have to strategize, if he fights the same strategy and fight he did vs Wladimir, that is exactly what he wants to do against Wilder, so I know thats what he will be prepared to do. Move a lot, throw arm punches to score, keep ahead on points and conserve energy. Only thing that could fail is if he fatigues faster than he did in 2015 from all the abuse on his body, if he gets too tired to move, he could get caught.
Team Wilder worked on body shots during training camp.Watch both episodes of All Access and there you can see it.
Wilder's biggest problem is that he's never faced a man the size of Fury with the reach of Fury. Wilder is used to having fighters in the range of that big right hand. Wilder already spreads his legs too wide, which hurts his own range. Imagine that against a 6'9" long reach fighter like Tyson. I think Fury already has this fight planned in his head like playwright and Wilder is going to have to get a KO to win. Fury is going to be moving and going in and out with shots coming from everywhere.
Btw southpaw Audley has the same reach as Fury. But is just 2 inches shorter. The difference is that Audley didn't came to win.
Tell that to Stiverne, Wilder closed a 4-5 foot gap in half a second to land a socking, guard-splitting, straight right plush on Bermaine's chin.
You are aware that Stiverne was overweight, slow and 40 when he fought Wilder in the rematch ? Plus Stiverne didn't move at all.

And lets be honest Ortiz was the only one who believed that he can beat Wilder. The rest didn't had that belief.
