but cruz doesnt really have chance against hillary.
We shall see.
I've always felt Hillary is over-hyped. The 2008 election was supposed to be all hers, and she lost the primary to a junior-Senator/community organizer from Chicago.
I'm not completely convinced she will beat Sanders, though she does have a big advantage with the Democrat Party political machine behind her.
with trump you can see his slick braggadocio style personality there's an aaron rodgers hail mary style feel to trump vs hillary. he could actually talk his way into the presidency. can we all agree that trump is much smarter than W bush?
That's one of Trump's attributes I like, you never know what he will say and he won't back down to the PC police.
As to being smarter, I have no idea. I don't know the two men's respective IQs, but I do believe W Bush was the only President to have an MBA.
We'll know much more once States start primary voting.
lets be friggin real here....
How many white Muslims do you know, or have you seen?
That guy Jihadi John was a white dude. There's more, of course.
The media pegs muslims as terrorists when Islam means peace.
So what if it means peace? I judge based on actions.
As to the press, you're wrong. Most run cover for them.
Don't need a magnifying glass to read through the lines
'Read between the lines' is code for those who make strawman arguments. FYI, my posts don't need to be read between the lines. I'm very open about my beliefs and I state them in a very direct manner.
If you need something I said clarified, just ask. But please, don't resort to assumption and speculation.
You said:
Yes, I know what I said.
Now you are telling me that providing false stats about one race killing another is... not bringing up race?
You wanna correct your previous statement buddy?
No, as it needs no correction. Again, numbers can't be racist.
Now I know libs try and say everyone who disagrees with them is racist, but don't now start calling things like number racist too!
Trump feeds into the racial bias' and fears people have deep down, in a way its a form of causing terror.
How so, when Trump never brings up race?
And before you reply, remember that 'Mexican' is a nationality and 'islam' is a religion. Neither word denotes race.
Are you going to tell me that we don't have a problem with Canadians living illegally in America?
Yup
The rest of it is just the usual tripe the race-baiters use when they are attacking someone who, unlike themselves, isn't a racist.
I gave you a race specific example already. You wont address it will you?
He cited stats (albeit those turned out to be wrong). Numbers aren't racist.
Try again.
You have made an ass of yourself trying to defend that man all the way through when you could have simply stated from the beginning that you were wrong and that he messed up with that tweet. You have gotten too silly to be taken seriously.
I admitted he was foolish to retweet stats/figures without first making sure they were accurate.
The rest of it I'm right on. He didn't bring it up, he simply passed on the inaccurate stats of another person.
still waiting for one of these UFC guys to stay on top of their game for 18 years straight and dominate the sport.
It's tough to do that in a combat sport where the best have to fight the best and you don't see the blatant cherry-picking you unfortunately see in boxing today.
OK bro, I can see you are Mr. Devils advocate. Trump isnt a racist, hope this makes you feel better about your vote.
I'm not playing that at all. I'm simply voicing my opinion and asking a question.
As to my vote, I'm undecided at this point. I've stated this before, and I believe more than once.
you might actually see actual tears from hillary's crooked eyes if she had to debate trump.
Cruz would destroy her even better than I think Trump would.
People keep saying this crap when MMA is concerned when the talent pool is crap compared to boxing.
So what? The best still fight the best in MMA alot more than in boxing.
Unfortunately there is a lot of cherry picking in boxing but that does not mean the MMA fighters are facing stiffer challenges.
Actually it does.
I have noticed that UFC fans have a tendency to make excuses when one of their hype jobs gets exposed.
Not me, and to be honest, not any of the MMA guys I trained with who also watched UFC.
It's not that MMA fighters face greater challenges; their fans simply have lower expectations.
Dead wrong. MMA fans hav higher expectations that they will see the best fight the best. Sadly boxing fans have just accepted this down't happen near as often in boxing as it should.
Heck, you have the trainer/manager of a guy who holds/held multiple world titles (Danny Garcia) saying boxers shouldn't be accepting challenging fights and instead cherry-picking!!
personally I always looked at UFC as a place for.....
a) former high school and college wrestlers who wanted to make doe off their skills also Olympic level Judo fighters
This is true. Before MMA, guys who were top notch wrestlers didn't really have a way to earn money with those skills unless they got something like a coaching job in a HS or college. Now they have another route, and some use it.
b)fighters who know they cant make it in boxing, kick boxing, muay thai or any major martial art combat sport
That's ridiculous. First off, some like the MMA rule-set as opposed to the sports you mentioned. Second, two of those (kick boxing and Muay Thai) are not bigger than MMA (in the US) and thus there's more money/fame in MMA than those two.
And I will say this, I was a boxing fan first (I watched and loved boxing well before UFC 1) and as a fan I still prefer boxing. Now when I spar/train, I prefer MMA, as it more fits my size/skills/age etc and gives me more ways to attack than just with my hands.
I just wish boxing had more of the best fighting the best like MMA tends to do.
Hmmm so he's feeding my racial biases against middle eastern people when I am middle eastern?
Some people only know how to play the race card. Notice he didn't address your question about how he came to the conclusion Trump is a racist. He's parroting DNC talking points, nothing else really.
But he's still got my voteski because I don't want US cities to end up like the country my family had to leave ended up.
Exactly. Why leave a place and then try and turn your new home into the place that was so horrible you had to flee it? It's seriously flawed logic.
Again, you didnt say Trump never said anything racist. You said he never brought up race.
Well you didn't even try and show he said something racist, so whatever.
AGAIN, he didn't bring up race. He retweeted something someone else posted/said. Keep up.
Citing statistics based on race is still bringing up race.
AGAIN, numbers can't be racist.
Do you understand the difference between 'race' and 'racist'?
Yes. Do you?
I'm not sure you do. I can help you with this obvious distinction if you want.
Well I do. As to you helping, you've not shown you know the difference yourself....
Retweeting stuff for all of your followers to read means he wanted those statistics shared with his followers. So he did bring it up... to his followers.
No, the guy who first tweeted it did.
It also means that he agrees with the tweet, by the way.
No, it does not. That calls for conjecture.
He doesnt retweet everything he comes across does he?
I have no clue. You'd have to ask him.
One would have to a complete moron to believe those stats were real.
Well he messed up. We all do.
And yes, I knew immediately the stats were off and he was going to catch hell.
Also, he forwarded (ie retweeted) the stats. So he was quoting someone else's numbers. That's not him bringing it up, as he didn't originate the tweet/numbers.
Now he was foolish enough to forward them without verifying they were fact, but again that's not him bringing up the subject in any way.
I'm a Christian and this is pathetic. He really should be ashamed of himself.
I guess he missed the parts about not being prideful and that you're supposed to be truthful and humble. He got beat by a better boxer, and that opponent will go down as the best of his time, and arguably the greatest of all time. He needs to just accept it and move on.
I'm not taking a side on PBC, but waiting to see. My only concern is this, PBC is losing money. So they must have a long-term strategy and some things must change because you can't lose money forever. I'm curious what changes PBC/Haymon will make in order to start making money.
Dont look at it as boxing vs MMA.
Look at the fights themselves. On one show you had the woman who beat the most hyped woman in the UFC. On the other show you had a World Champion fighting Chris Arreola (and on short notice to boot). Which do expect viewers to watch?
Where you haters this outraged when Floyd forced Canelo to a 152 cw when he was champ at 154, and unlike Canelo, had fought twice in that division?
I'm not hating, just citing facts.
The weight classes are there for a reason. This isn't like that kids game 4-square, where the guy in the 1 spot gets to make the rules. It's boxing, and it has established weight classes.
The rest is just obfuscation, and isn't addressing how a guy holding a belt at 160 refused to defend that belt at 160.
But it's good he got stripped, so props to the WBC. It's rare, and good, to see the sanctioning bodies doing the right thing.
Canelo was willing to fight at 155
GGG ducked the match by not accepting the A-side's conditions
Do what?!?! The A-side doesn't get to rewrite the weight classes! Get out of here with that garbage.
they don't even wear shoes in pro MMA fights, at least not in the leagues with which i'm familiar, and the canvas / mat isn't very tacky.
You are correct. Shoes are no longer allowed.
pride had a canvas, square ring, some guys with shoes, and was definitely a striker's organization. also had kicking to the head of a grounded opponent.
Kicking to the head of a downed opponent isn't allowed anymore either. Punching or elbows aren't allowed either, unless the person striking is also on the ground. You cannot strike a downed opponent from a standing position.
Pride was pretty wild. Pancrase was more of a grappler's organization, as they did not allow closed fist strikes to the head.
