He had a solid chin. He has balance problems, especially as a WW. His style was full of action and it is normal to get some clean shots if your left hand is so low all the time.
And in case of Hearns I am very thankfull for god that he didnt have a Hagler-like Chin, otherwise he would be one the best fighter of his era (he certainly is one of them).
It wasn't bad, but it was always his chin that let him down hence it was his weakness.
Theres no shame in being Kod by Leonard, Hagler and Barkley (especially at a higher weight)
You could also say that it was his inability to fight defensively that got him KO'd in those fights, specifically against Leonard and Hagler. I think the Barkley TKO was more a case of Hearns getting overzealous with a battered opponent in front of him, later getting hit with that concussive haymaker.

I think you always have to consider his chin in fantasy fights because he was stopped by guys that were way below his level
The only guy that stopped him that was below his level was The Blade and he was not that bad of a fighter.
He was stopped a few times, hurt badly a few times, wobbled several times.....
People tend to exaggerate. 'Glass chin' isn't really being fair to Hearns. The guys who KO'd him were one of the 5 greatest Middlweights of all-time, one of the 5 greatest Welterweights of all-time, and a rugged Super-Middleweight who could really hit on a home run shot.
I remember Hearns being shook by Roldan and James Shuler, but both of those guys were pretty strong fighters. Roldan also hit Tommy behind the head a lot. He took some really good shots from those guys and ended up winning though.
He was weight drained for the first fight. He had problems making 147 @ that time. He even weighed in @ 146 I believe. It wasn't like Leonard clocked him one good time and layed him out either. It was late in the fight Hearns was exhausted and just got caught with something.
If you say he was weightdrained i take your word for it but he was in trouble earlier in the fight to a few rounds before he got stopped.
Leonard tested his chin at his natural weight in their first fight.

Everytime he's placed in a fantasy matchup against someone they always say, "Hearns had a glass chin." What's up with that?
Because Hearns only had a couple weaknesses one was his chin the other was the fact that he did not fight good on the inside, and they kind of go together.
Hearns fighting from the outside is basically like Wlad fighting from the outside unbeatable, so when arguing for someone against Hearns you have to make that case.
Ok I see what you're saying. I can't say he had a "glass jaw." He was KO'd by Hagler, huge puncher, Barkley, who was a decent puncher, both not at his natural weights.

And by leonard. I think the main reason also is that in his marquee fights the ones he lost, were by KO
Cuz he got KO'd a couple times. The Barkley one was really surprisin. I don't think he had a soft jaw, but his chin wasn't the gr8est either.
