CARSON, Calif. -- WBA/IBO/WBC interim-middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (31-0, 28KOs) is perhaps the most active big-time fighter in the sport, one of his many redeeming qualities. GGG fought four times in 2013 and three times in 2014. The plan is for him to fight four more times in 2015.

Walters, he made easy work of Vic, blasting him out in Round 5 this year in a KO of the Year Candidate.
Oasis Hotel Complex, Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico - 41-year-old Cornelius "K9" Bundrage (34-5, 19KOs) regained his IBF junior middleweight title with a twelve round unanimous decision victory over Carlos Molina (22-6-2, 6KOs). Molina, who went down in the first and the tenth, was making the first defense of the title. The scores were 116-109, 117-106, 115-110. Bundrage had lost the title on a close majority decision last February to Ishe Smith, who then lost the title to Molina in a close split decision in September.
Fight fans have to be excited that GGG is back in the ring, but the opponent leaves much to be desired. IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (30-0, 27KOs) is widely expected to make easy work of Marco Antonio Rubio next Saturday, and there's plenty of better fights out there. Unfortunately, Golovkin and K2 Promotions have had a difficult time attracting a deserving challenger. But K2 Promotions managing director Tom Loeffler says it will be a competitive fight.
Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs) and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (44-1-1, 31KOs) are the two money names in the middleweight division, and they're widely expected to fight each other in 2015. What's less clear is whether the winner will defend the lineal title against the much-deserving WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin. (30-0, 27KOs) However, GGG's promoter, K2 managing director Tom Loeffler, is confident his fighter will get one of the mega bouts with Cotto or Canelo.

SANTA MONICA, California -- Kathy Duva's Main Events has had an exclusive output deal with NBC Sports since 2011. That agreement is about to expire, and according to the longtime promoter, Al Haymon is taking the reins. Duva simply couldn't compete with the kind of money Haymon was slinging around in talks with the television giant. Just how much are we talking here? According to Duva, Haymon is offering NBC in the neighborhood of $20 million for around 24 fight dates.
