Esther Lin / Most Valuable PromotionsJake Paul wants another crack at defeating Anthony Joshua, according to his promotional partner Nakisa Bidarian.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer surprisingly signed to face the former two-time heavyweight champion back in December 2025. Paul came unstuck in the sixth round of their scheduled 10-round contest when Joshua landed a crushing right hand on his chin, breaking his jaw in the process.
At the time of the stoppage Joshua was ahead 50-43 on all three scorecards, highlighting his dominance in the five completed rounds.
Paul required two surgeries to repair the injury and admitted that doctors had advised him to retire from professional boxing. He has not fought since his knockout defeat to Joshua but is reportedly set to return to the ring on Christmas Eve.
Joshua already has his next contest locked in, facing longtime rival Tyson Fury on December 11 in Cardiff, Wales. Speaking to The Sun, Bidarian, who co-founded Most Valuable Promotions with Paul in 2021, was asked if Paul would be interested in facing the winner.
“Truthfully, he wants to fight Anthony Joshua again,” Bidarian replied. “That to him is ideal, but I think he was saying he’d fight either guy [Tyson Fury].
“I talked to Jake last week as we’re going through this process of coming back and one of the things we discussed is sometimes when you get hurt that way, you don’t want to engage in a fight. You’re more looking to be on the outside and ensuring you don’t get hit.
“And honestly what he said to me was, ‘Dude, none of that shit hurt. Even when he broke my jaw, yeah, it was a zinger, but I wasn’t like, oh my god, it’s hurting so bad. I love this, I’m a bigger dog than I’ve ever been, and I want to come back and kill.’
“That’s his perspective.”
The other defeat on Paul’s 12-2 (7 KOs) record came in 2023 when he lost a split decision to Tommy Fury after eight rounds.
Paul's next fight is expected to be announced in November.
“I would say he’s in active training for a camp waiting to finalise an opponent," Bidarian said.
“So you can’t be in full camp until you know who your opponent is and we’re feverishly working on finalising that and hopefully announcing in the next two weeks.”
