No disrespect taken thanks for new advice mainly the gliding part and not stomping around as far as running i consider what exercises i do like running jumping rope and going to the gym(weights) really have nothing to do with actual boxing training and i think you have the same opinion? where as speed bag heavy bag shadowing sparing and the mitts would be actual training. So what im saying is not hey if i can run 6 miles can i be a pro more like

hey i run 6 miles in 40 min everyday do you think if i joined a boxing gym and trained in boxing specific training 4 times harder then i do in non all the way up to heavyweight champ would i ever have to run farther and faster then that everyday?

hmmm Philly .....well its not actually any farther then most the gyms i called today but im kinda frightened.... shaved heads and philly dont go well together, maybe its just a sterotype and correct me if im wrong but ive gotten some mighty unfrendly looks from people since i started shaving my head, and i get lost easily but if you go to a gym in philly and want to recommend it as well as any other gyms you think are good in philly i will definitely look into them but i would be hoping for something not far from i 95 northeast area

i think im actually going to stick with the bag i have. i raised it up and in a semi crouched position i can slip the bag right over my shoulder and side stepping is fun bobbing and weaving is boring after the first time unless you come up with a hook and then have to bob the other way then come up with another hook and repeat kinda fun in theory if i could actually do it more then 3 times. guess ill work on that also slipping the bag and countering the air would be fun but i need to stick to stance while doing all this and i dont want to be doing the wrong stance so im to assume my description of the stance is correct since i haven't gotten any comments.

also thanks for the slipping and side stepping advice when i started writing this i actually hadnt gone out to try it yet but sometime in the middle of writing this a friend came over and i decided to go out and try it out

running 6 miles in 40 minutes is not bad at all. as far as you asking if that's all you'll have to run, well thats up to you. some fighters dont do roadwork, some live by it, so it depends.

you're frightened to come down the city because you shave your head?!?!?! dude I dono what the hell that means man. I shave my head and I got no beefs in Philly wit anyone. When you go to the gym at first of course they're gonna treat you like a newbie, but that dont mean they wont help you out. dont be scared homie, this is BOXING, which, by the way, isnt a sport for you to practice with friends. you need professional training and supervision under a trainer. bite the bullet and find a good gym in the city. there aint much to work with in the northeast, trust me, i know.

go to boxinggyms.com and check those out. of course thats not all of em, but its a start. jus go down to a few and tell them what you're about, and start training, and if it aint your thing, find another gym. trainers will tell you where the good spots are at, its a tight knit fraternity in the boxing world.

Some good ones I know of are

              Joe Hand Gym
              Harrowgate Boxing Club
              Joe Frazier's Gym

              ...to name a few...

Harrowgate Boxing Club is probably the one for me it seems to be the closest but i will probably check out the joe hand place whiel im down there. The frazier place might be closer but i know back roads to I95.

Im an idiot perhaps the gyms I called ealier are closed for easter monday . I guess ill wait till tomorrow see if i get some calls back see if any of that sounds decent and make a few calls to the philly gyms if not.(tried harrowgate no answer)

atleast i hope most gyms are open before noon dont want to be heading home in traffic or down there in traffic

most gyms I been to dont open before 4pm or so. Of course some are open all day, but I think the ones you called today are open from like 4pm-9pm or something like that. try later today.
