I'm talking about these guys saying they are going to be world champions. Fraidy...this is real talk.

This is athletics we are talking about. You can have the drive and all the motivation in the world. Trust me, I been there and done that. You cant just put in the work at age 16 and up and expect to get there. You have to hone your skills at a young age.

        Young...I'm talking like 8 here.

But if you dont got the resources and if you dont put in the work at a young age.

You sure as hell aint going to be a world titlist.

it takes a lot of luck. And a helluva lot of experience. You have to have experience at the highest level to even be a BLIMP on the radar.

lol... you either have failed at alot in life or will in the future .... your perception of statements people make on here lead me to believe you've cheated yourself alot. I see it in my students all the time.

i dont believe in these hard and fast rules if you've got a chin and some intelligence under pressure you can do boxing. obviousy starting earlier is better but your most significicant improvements come within the first 2-4 years of boxing, after this you arent likely to et much faster or stronger you can only hope to get smarter.

i always wanted to win the IBF belt at 160, the same belt that james toney won when he knocked out micheal nunn in the 11th round.

Smokin's kind of right though, these boards are populated by guys who start at 18 then decide at 19 they're going to be world champs. That's selling the sport short. You wouldn't listen to a guy who just played his first pickup game say he's ready for the NBA, so why would you listen to a two-fight amateur talk about his championship ambitions?

Kids think they're going to be another RJJ, Mosley, Floyd, Oscar, etc. What do those names have in common? They all had better skills at the age of eight than anyone on this board has now!!!!!!!!!!

It's not hate to remind people of reality.

They are the extreme cases, but not total diversions from the norm.

The thing is sometimes I want to ask a training question, but I don't b/c I know I'm going to get a bunch of bull**** answers. If the T&N forum didn't tolerate the future star nonsense it might become a useful forum.

I'm 31 and I only want to fight my shadow and a heavy bag. but I also don't want to hear nonsense from guys who still have fewer am fights than I had but think they are the next big thing.
