My friend, just go to any MMA gym and find out for yourself how hard it is to stop a takedown from even just a average collegiate level wrestler.

Because of the way boxers fight (stance, feet positioning, etc) they are more suceptible to takedowns than say a Muay Thai fighter (who btw have their own versions of takedowns and takedown defense).

On Sports Science Rampage barely hit harder than Chris Byrd. I'd imagine in terms of punching power that Rampage and Carwin are a bit outgunned by the boxers, but the idea that you can learn to defend a takedown in a jiffy is laughable. Sherk would beat Mayweather in the octagon just as easy as Mayweather would beat Sherk in the ring. Easy as that...

I am one of the guys speaking up for MMA in here, i have to say that pound for pound, chances are a boxer punches harder than an MMA fighter, but that is not surprising as that is all boxers do.... they punch..
