Take away 'names', and Hopkins' doesn't even come close to Calzaghe's.
Hopkins has proven more. While he did hold undisputed title all his defenses, he held atleast 2 of since what 01? While Calzaghe just got his second one from an over-rated, underskilled fighter in Jeff Lacy, in 06. Bernard's record is better and he fought everyone there was availible. Calzaghe hasn't.

He's beaten all the best in the division. Ottke got gift decisions against Reid, Starie, Brewer and Mitchell, and Beyer absolutely ****** (a one-armed Woodhall schooled him in the second half of the fight when he shook off ring rust, and even Glenn Catley beat him who Joe KTFO in the '92 ABA final).

He's only classed as overrated and underskilled because of how Calzaghe made him look.

        His future will tell.

Absolute rubbish. Calzaghe was clearly the best in his division by miles since he beat Eubank, it's no fault of his that Ottke and Beyer wanted nothing to do with him (because they knew they'd of been completely out-worked in every round and stood very little chance), let alone Jones Jr and Hopkins.

            No, he hasn't.

I see it sure doesn't take you very long to jump on a topic like this and start in with your nonsense.

When you look at Calzaghe's sub par resume over the last 8 years or so, you notice that he was at Supper Middleweight the entire time, yet managed to miss encounters Sven Ottke, Eric Lucas, Markus Beyer, Anthony Mundine, Antwun Echols, Mikkel Kessler, and Danny Green.

Not only did he not unify one major title to his lowly WBO strap until this year, he managed to not fight a list of credible super middleweights.

There is no compairison between Calzaghe's resume and Hopkins. Talking about ignoring knockout wins over Tito and Oscar is like trying to ignore Hagler beating Duran and Hearns.

It's night and day, and just shows Scap's got his panties in a bunch once again about one of the only topics he comes here to post about.

            YAWN.

Ottke and Beyer wanted nothing to do with Joe and it was either Echols or Brewer, Echols fell through so they got Brewer.

As for the others, who the hell are they?? Lol!

Ottke does count, because I don't buy that such a big fight was available (like many others) and that it was completely Ottke's fault it didn't come off.

I always get a list of excuses from Calzaghe's fans about why many of those fights didn't come off. And if it was once or twice I could see it. But when he spent the better portion of his career having fights not come off and missing countless opportunities to face better competition than he did, he loses the benefit of the doubt.

There is no way those many match ups, plus dreamed of match ups like Jones, Hopkins, Clinton Woods, Glen Johnson ...

all didn't come off and I'm supposed to buy that everyone was ducking Calzaghe and not vice versa, ESPECIALLY when FRANK WARREN was his Manager.

Sorry, as per usual, you have fights Calzaghe didn't take accompanied by nothing but excuses. Doesn't fly.

I've never seen 'Eric Lucas', 'Anthony Mundine', 'Mikkel Kessler' or 'Danny Green' fight. Maybe they were great fighters who could of beaten Calzaghe, if you say so, and would of been better on his resume than Jones Jr or Tarver but I've never seen those guys fight and barely heard anything of them and I'm a fan of boxing.. so, I don't know.

And then you've also got home town stoppages like in the Sheika fight as well as the Mitchell fight.
